Abstract
The present invention relates to a refrigerator (1) comprising a cabinet (2) wherein the foodstuffs to be cooled are placed, one door (3) providing access into the cabinet (2), at least one handle (4) providing the opening/closing of the door (3), an opening (5) arranged on the handle (4), a cut-out (6) arranged on the door (3), and a fixing element (7) that is mounted onto the door (3) so as to be aligned with the cut-out (6) and that enables the handle (4) to be fixed to the door (3).
Description
- The present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising a handle, the assembly of which on the door is facilitated.
- In refrigerators, the inner volume of the cooling device is accessed by opening/closing the door. The process of opening/closing of the door is provided by means of a handle disposed on the door. The state of the art door handles are fixed on the door generally by using more than one fixing element such as screw, nail, etc. Therefore, production speed decreases and hence labor and production costs increase.
- In the state of the art International Patent Application No. WO2012089743, a refrigerator is described, which comprises a handle, the assembly of which onto the door is facilitated.
- In the state of the art Korean Patent Application No. KR20010061674, a refrigerator is described comprising a door handle wherein the number of the components used during the assembly is decreased and thus the costs in production are provided to be reduced.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of a refrigerator comprising a handle, the assembly of which on the door is facilitated.
- The refrigerator realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a cabinet wherein the foodstuffs to be cooled are placed, a door providing access into the cabinet, a handle serving to open/close the door, an opening arranged on the handle, a cut-out arranged on the door and a fixing element that is mounted onto the cut-out so as to be at the inner side of the door and that enables the handle to be rigidly fixed onto the door..
- The refrigerator comprises a connection element that extends between the handle and the door while the handle is being mounted onto the door, that enables the handle to be attached onto the door and that is fixed onto the handle and the door by means of bayonet connection method. By means of the connection element, the handle is mounted onto the door.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection element has more than one stepped locking mechanism. During the assembly of the handle onto the door, the connection element is rotated in the fixing element in steps. The connection element is rotated once and from one end, seated into the fixing element so as not to dislodge from the fixing element. When the connection element is rotated, the other end thereof aligns with the opening and comes to a position so that the connection element can enter into the opening. The handle matches the geometry of the opening and is mounted onto the connection element that is fixed to the opening. When rotated for a second time, the connection element is locked in both the fixing element and the opening.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection element comprises on one end a first locking element that is seated into the opening and on the other end a second locking element that is seated into the fixing element. During the assembly of the handle onto the door, the connection element is aligned between the handle and the door so that the first locking element enters into the opening and the second locking element enters into the fixing element over the cut-out. With the connection element being rotated, the connection element is enabled to be fixed onto the handle and the door without any screws.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator comprises at least one first protrusion situated on the first locking element and at least one first housing arranged on the opening. By fitting the first protrusion into the first housing, the connection element is enabled to be seated into the handle in a simple manner.
- In a derivative of this embodiment, the connection element has a free position wherein the first protrusion enters into the first housing and a locking position wherein the first protrusion moves away from the first housing and bears against the side of the handle that surrounds the opening when the connection element is rotated. While the connection element is changed from the free position to the locking position, the first protrusion rotates, moves away from the first housing, is seated into the opening so that a gap remains between the first housing and the first protrusion and thus enables the connection element to be mounted onto the handle. Thus, after the assembly process is completed, the first protrusion is prevented from dislodging from the first housing wherein the first protrusion is easily fitted. By limiting the movement of the connection element inside the opening, the handle is enabled to be immovably mounted to the connection element.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator comprises at least one second protrusion situated on the second locking element and at least one second housing arranged on the fixing element. The second housing is shaped so as to allow the second protrusion to enter therein. Before mounted to the fixing element, the connection element is positioned in the fixing element by means of the second protrusion and the second housing. Consequently, mounting of the connection element on the door is facilitated.
- In a derivative of this embodiment, the connection element has a free position wherein the second protrusion enters into the second housing and a locking position wherein the second protrusion moves away from the second housing and is seated into the fixing element when the connection element is rotated. When the connection element is changed from the free position to the locking position, the second protrusion moves away from the second housing and rotates inside the fixing element so that approximately 90° remains between the second housing and the second protrusion. Thus, the connection element and the handle supported by the connection element are rigidly mounted onto the door by means of the fixing element.
- In the refrigerator of the present invention, the assembly of the handle on the door is facilitated and thus advantage is provided in labor and production costs.
- The refrigerator realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

- The refrigerator (1) comprises a cabinet (2) wherein the foodstuffs to be cooled are placed, one door (3) providing access into the cabinet (2), at least one handle (4) providing the opening/closing of the door (3), an opening (5) arranged on the handle (4), a cut-out (6) arranged on the door (3) and a fixing element (7) that is mounted onto the door (3) so as to be aligned with the cut-out (6) and that enables the handle (4) to be fixed to the door (3).
- The refrigerator (1) of the present invention furthermore comprises a connection element (8)
- enabling the handle (4) to be attached to the door (3),
- placed between the handle (4) and the door (3),
- connecting the handle (4) and the door (3) by bayonet method.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection element (8) has the stepped locking mechanism. During the assembly of the handle (4) onto the door (3), the connection element (8) is aligned between the handle (4) and the door (3) so that one end thereof faces the opening (5) and the other faces the cut-out (6). The connection element (8) enters into the fixing element (7) with one end thereof being passed through the cut-out (6). The connection element (8) is rotated in the fixing element (7) in steps. The connection element (8) is rotated once and seated into the fixing element (7) so as not to dislodge from the fixing element (7). During the rotation of the connection element (8), the other end thereof aligns with the opening (5) and comes to a position so as to enter into the opening (5). By means of the opening (5), the handle (4) is mounted onto the connection element (8), the geometry of which matches that of the opening (5). When rotated for a second time, the connection element (8) is locked in both the fixing element (7) and the opening (5). Thus, the handle (4) is fixed on the door (3).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection element (8) comprises on one end a first locking element (9) that is seated into the opening (5) and on the other end a second locking element (10) that is seated into the fixing element (7). During the assembly of the handle (4) onto the door (3), the connection element (8) is aligned between the handle (4) and the door (3) so that the first locking element (9) enters into the opening (5) and the second locking element (10) enters into the fixing element (7) over the cut-out (6). The fixing element (7) is positioned on the cut-out (6) so as to be at the inner side of the door (3). With the connection element (8) being rotated, the connection element (8) is enabled to be fixed onto the handle (4) and the door (3) without any means such as screws, nails, etc. Thus, the handle (4) is mounted onto the door (3) by means of the connection element (8).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises at least one first protrusion (11) situated on the edge of the first locking element (9) and at least one first housing (12) arranged on the opening (5). By fitting the first protrusion (11) into the first housing (12), the connection element (8) is enabled to be seated into the handle (4) in a simple manner.
- In a derivative of this embodiment, the connection element (8) has a free position wherein the first protrusion (11) enters into the first housing (12) and a locking position wherein the first protrusion (11) moves away from the first housing (12) and bears against the side of the handle (4) that surrounds the opening (5) when the connection element (8) is rotated. With the rotation of the connection element (8), the first protrusion (11) also rotates and moves away from the first housing (12), thus enabling the connection element (8) to be mounted onto the handle (4) so as to remain outside the first housing (12).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises at least one second protrusion (13) situated on the edge of the second locking element (10) and at least one second housing (14) arranged on the fixing element (7). The second housing (14) is shaped so as to allow the second protrusion (13) to enter therein. By fitting the second protrusion (13) into the second housing (14), the connection element (8) is enabled to enter into the fixing element (7) in an easy manner.
- In a derivative of this embodiment, the connection element (8) has a free position wherein the second protrusion (13) enters into the second housing (14) and a locking position wherein the second protrusion (13) moves away from the second housing (14) and is seated into the fixing element (7) when the connection element (8) is rotated. With the rotation of the connection element (8) around the axis passing through the center thereof, the second protrusion (13) also rotates and moves away from the second housing (14), thus enabling the connection element (8) to be mounted onto the fixing element (7) so as to remain outside the second housing (14). Thus, after the handle (4) is mounted onto the door (3), the second protrusion (13) is prevented from dislodging from the second housing (14) that enables the connection element (8) to be easily mounted onto the fixing element (7). Thus, the connection element (8) carries the handle (4) by being fixed to the fixing element (7).
- By means of the present invention, the handle (4) is easily mounted on the door (3) and labor and cost advantages are provided.
Claims (7)
- A refrigerator (1) comprising a cabinet (2) wherein the foodstuffs to be cooled are placed, one door (3) providing access into the cabinet (2), at least one handle (4) providing the opening/closing of the door (3), an opening (5) arranged on the handle (4), a cut-out (6) arranged on the door (3) and a fixing element (7) that is mounted onto the door (3) so as to be aligned with the cut-out (6) and that enables the handle (4) to be fixed to the door (3),characterized by a connection element (8)- enabling the handle (4) to be attached to the door (3),- placed between the handle (4) and the door (3),- connecting the handle (4) and the door (3) by bayonet method.
- A refrigerator (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the connection element (8) that has the stepped locking mechanism.
- A refrigerator (1) as in Claim 1or 2, characterized by the connection element (8) that has on one end a first locking element (9) that is seated into the opening (5) and on the other end a second locking element (10) that is seated into the fixing element (7).
- A refrigerator (1) as in Claim 3, characterized by at least one first protrusion (11) situated on the edge of the first locking element (9) and at least one first housing (12) arranged on the opening (5).
- A refrigerator (1) as in Claim 4, characterized by the connection element (8) that has a free position wherein the first protrusion (11) enters into the first housing (12) and a locking position wherein the first protrusion (11) moves away from the first housing (12) and bears against the side of the handle (4) that surrounds the opening (5) when the connection element (8) is rotated.
- A refrigerator (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by at least one second protrusion (13) situated on the edge of the second locking element (10) and at least one second housing (14) arranged on the fixing element (7).
- A refrigerator (1) as in Claim 6, characterized by the connection element (8) that has a free position wherein the second protrusion (13) enters into the second housing (14) and a locking position wherein the second protrusion (13) moves away from the second housing (14) and is seated into the fixing element (7) when the connection element (8) is rotated.
