Definitions
- the present invention relates to a circuit arrangement for the electrical control of a valve terminal.
- a valve terminal is understood to mean in particular a control unit with pressure fluid valves, in particular electropneumatic valves, for the control of machine functions. More specifically, the supply of the electromagnetically controlled valves on a common base plate of the valve terminal in the center of the present invention.
- an actuator voltage from an electrical supply circuit can be fed to each pneumatic valve.
- the magnetic coil of each valve can be controlled by a superordinate magnetic control via a load switch assigned to each magnetic coil, such that a valve only switches when an actuator voltage is applied and the magnetic coil is actuated by the magnetic control.
- the magnetic control is preferably a programmable logic controller (PLC).
- the electrical supply of the valves was usually via a single input voltage via a common supply circuit.
- This supply circuit provides the actuator voltage and feeds it via an electrical connection at the valve terminal or bus node.
- a typical voltage is for example +24 V DC.
- the electromagnetic valves usually sit in a row next to each other on the pneumatic base plate.
- Each coil of the solenoid valves is driven by the above-mentioned +24 V and is connected to the neighboring solenoid coils via a common ground.
- the control with the exemplified +24 V takes place via an electronic load switch, either in the bus node (central) or in the valve itself (decentralized).
- the control signals come from a higher-level controller (PLC) and are transmitted to the valve terminal via a bus system.
- PLC higher-level controller
- Each output of the PLC is assigned a valve solenoid and thus a pneumatic control function. Whether a valve is switched on or off depends on two criteria, namely whether 1.) the power supply is switched on at all or not and 2.) the solenoid control actuates the load switch or not.
- the actuator voltage is always applied.
- the solenoid control via the PLC determines whether the mentioned load switch of the relevant valve is closed or opened and thus actuates the valve accordingly.
- Each solenoid of a valve hangs on a load switch.
- the external shutdown of the actuator voltage can be done eg via a contactor, which sits between the power supply and the input at the valve terminal. In the case of the desired shutdown or emergency stop of the machine, this supply is usually separated by 2 poles on the contactor. Conversely, the valve terminal only receives a supply voltage again, if all safety devices and the emergency stop switch have given approval.
- DE 19918773 shows a drive unit in which a group of electro-pneumatic valves are supplied with a controlled actuating current.
- the installer succeeds in pre-programming the behavior of each valve during maintenance or in case of an emergency stop by a kind of pre-selection by means of the selector switch. It determines whether the valve is powered by a supply circuit with the actuator voltage, which is de-energized in the case of selective shutdown or not. In the latter case, the valve will continue to be supplied with the actuator voltage even after shutdown by means of the shutdown module - for safety reasons, for example.
- a reprogramming in case of a conversion of the provided with the valve terminal machine is very simple. Essentially, only the selector switches must be reset.
- control of the load switch galvanically isolated from the supply circuits, which provide the actuator voltages available by means of an optocoupler. This is particularly relevant if the actuator voltages have separate masses and can be switched off in each case 2-pole. There is thus a clear separation into a magnetic control circuit (for the load switch) and actuator circuit.
- the shutdown module is then otherwise designed as a contactor, which separates the actuator voltages 2-pole.
- the drawing figure shows an exemplary circuit arrangement for an electrical control of an electromagnetically controlled pneumatic series arrangement of valves, of which only one is represented by the reference numeral 1. All valves are seated in corresponding valve slots 11 to n.
- the circuit arrangement has a common voltage supply via a so-called backplane 102, which is also referred to as a backplane bus.
- the power supply comprises two supply circuits which provide two independent actuator voltages U A1 and U A2 .
- the setter of the machine can select whether the actuator voltage U A1 or U A2 is now made available to the present valve 1. The choice is made depending on how the valve 1 should react during maintenance or in case of an emergency stop.
- an external switch-off module 104 is connected in the supply circuit, which supplies the actuator voltage U A2 , like a 2-pole contactor. With this shutdown module 104, an external shutdown of the actuator voltage U A2 can be achieved and, for example, an emergency can be simulated.
- This supply circuit is then de-energized.
- the valve 1 is no longer supplied with any supply voltage in the illustrated wiring variant; the valve 1 is then energized.
- the actuator voltage U A1 could be supplied unchanged to the valve 1.
- the valve 1 is designed as a so-called center position valve, which is to be understood as an exemplary embodiment.
- the valve 1 has two magnetic coils 100 and 101, wherein each magnetic coil 100 and 101, a load switch C 1 and C 2 is associated.
- These load switches C 1 and C 2 can be controlled by a higher-level magnetic control, for example a programmable logic controller (PLC).
- PLC programmable logic controller
- valve 1 only switches when an actuator voltage is present and the magnetic coils 100 and 101 are actuated by the magnetic control.
- the control of the load switches C 1 and C 2 of the two supply circuits, which provide the actuator voltages U A1 and U A2 available, preferably takes place galvanically isolated by means of an optocoupler (not shown). This is of relevance if the actuator voltages U A1 and U A2 have separate masses and U A2 can be switched off in the form of a 2-pole as in the present case.
