Abstract

The object of the invention is a bed (10) comprising an articulated bed (12) comprising various hinged parts (14) forming a sleeping surface (16) for receiving a mattress, the bed comprising a first lower frame (18). ) with supports on the ground (20), this lower frame for raising, lowering or inclining the articulated bed (12) with respect to the ground, the bed further comprising a second upper frame (22) interposed between the lower frame (18) and the articulated bed (12), this upper frame supporting the articulated bed (12), and the bed extending along a longitudinal central axis (L10) between a footboard (24) and a headboard (26), the bed (10) being characterized in that the upper frame (22) is translationally mounted along the longitudinal central axis (L10) on the lower frame (18).

Description

The present invention relates to a bed, for example a hospital bed, comprising an articulated bed base for an exit bed patient bed.

In the medical or hospital environment, the beds must be equipped with articulated bed bases to bring bedridden patients from a supine position to different seating positions for meals, to provide some care, or simply for their own comfort.

According to a development more and more requested, the articulated bed bases must also help to help the bedridden patient to get up and leave the bed.

For this purpose, we know the medical bed described in the document EP-2308442 .

According to this document EP-2308442 , the medical bed comprises a rolling frame and supporting an articulated bed base extending between the footboard and the headboard. From the headboard to the footboard, the articulated bed frame comprises various articulated parts and forming a sleeping surface on which is deposited a mattress.

Some of these parts are hinged together and movable relative to the chassis.

In more detail, from the headboard to the footboard, the articulated bed base includes a backrest, a seat, a thigh and a footrest.

The backrest is movable in rotation relative to the seat so as to take different angles of inclination corresponding to different lying or sitting positions of the patient, the seat is fixed, and the thigh is rotatable relative to to the seat so as to take different angles of inclination to raise the legs of the bedridden patient.

Finally, the footrest is movable in rotation relative to the thigh to avoid the patient to be in an uncomfortable position with the legs straight when tilting the thigh and / or the backrest relative to the chassis .

Naturally, the rotations of the different parts of the mattress between them are carried out about transverse axes parallel to each other and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bed.

In order to help the patient get up, this document EP-2308442 plans to fold the footrest to the ground, that is to say, under the plane in which the seat is and in a substantially vertical position.

Thus, at first, by tilting the backrest to its maximum angle of inclination relative to the frame and folding the footrest to the ground, as illustrated by the figure 4 of this document EP-2308442 the bedridden patient is seated as in an armchair.

Subsequently, as illustrated by figure 7 of this document EP-2308442 it is intended to drive the pan forming the backrest to the footboard using a deformable quadrilateral system, in order to further straighten the patient's back and prepare him to leave the bed.

And finally, in a last time, this document EP-2308442 plans to tilt the hinged bed base by raising the headboard, as shown in Figure 8 of this document.

Thus, the patient is almost accompanied to a standing position allowing him to leave the bed.

In addition, in this document EP-2308442 , the outer half-sidings of the footboard pivot on both sides of the frame so as to provide armrests or support handles to help the patient to maintain during the operation of exit of the bed and to help to get up.

Although allowing to accompany the bedridden patient to the standing position comfortably and safely, the design of the bed described in this document EP-2308442 has some disadvantages.

First, the design of the bed base articulated bed foot is likely to cause instability of the bed in certain situations.

Indeed, to be able to fold the footrest to the ground, it is necessary to deport the frame supports located at the foot of the bed to the center of the frame.

As a result, a relatively large portion of the sleeping surface located at the foot of the bed is cantilevered relative to the frame.

This part cantilever can be dangerous because, if for some reason, a sufficiently large mass bears on this cantilevered part, the bed can become unstable.

This situation may occur, for example, if the patient, or another person, sits or relies solely on this cantilevered part. Also, to remedy the dangerous nature of this part cantilevered, this document EP-2308442 provides supports mounted at the end of retractable extensions, as illustrated by Figures 3 to 5 of this document.

These retractable supports are deployed when the footrest is not folded down to the ground, and they are pushed back to their retracted position by the descent of the foot-foot.

However, if the retraction of the support extensions is carried out automatically under the effect of the descent footrest, the deployment of these extensions requires the presence of return means powerful enough to compensate for the friction of these retractable supports on the ground.

In the end, as it is conceived in this document EP-2308442 , the folding footrest causes a complexity of the design of the hospital bed, and therefore an increase in its cost.

At the same time, the outer half-sills of the footboard require specific actuators to pivot to the appropriate support positions.

These additional actuators also require additional control means.

Thus, these pivoting outer half-faces also complicate the design of the bed, and they also increase the cost of the hospital bed.

The present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a bed, for example a medical bed, comprising an articulated bed base comprising different articulated parts forming a sleeping surface intended to receive a mattress, the bed comprising a first lower frame with supports on the ground, this lower frame for raising, lowering or tilting the articulated bed base with respect to the floor, the bed further comprising a second upper frame interposed between the lower frame and the articulated bed, this upper frame supporting the articulated bed, and the bed extending along a central longitudinal axis between a footboard and a headboard.

According to the invention, the bed is characterized in that the upper frame is mounted in translation along the longitudinal central axis on the lower frame.

Thanks to this mounting in translation of the upper frame on the lower frame, the bed frame can be brought to the footboard to facilitate the accompaniment of a bedridden person to a sitting position or almost standing at the foot of bed.

Advantageously, this mounting in translation of the upper frame also makes it possible to avoid modifying the position of the supports on the ground of the lower chassis. This avoids making the bed unstable in certain situations where a person would come to sit or lean towards the footboard.

In addition, this mounting in translation of the upper carriage is of simple design and therefore inexpensive to achieve.

As illustrated by figure 1 , the present invention relates to a bed 10 comprising an articulated bed base 12 comprising various articulated parts 14 forming a sleeping surface 16 intended to receive a mattress (not shown).

In the present invention, the different parts 14 of the bed base 12 are hinged together, and at least one of these parts 14 is connected to the elements forming the frame of the bed 10.

The bed 10 according to the invention comprises a first lower frame 18 with supports 20.

In known manner, these ground supports 20 can take different forms: single wheels, bogies on wheels, with or without braking means, or simple planar support.

The lower frame 18 can raise, lower or incline the articulated bed base 12 relative to the ground S.

In addition, the bed 10 according to the invention comprises a second upper frame 22 interposed between the lower frame 18 and the articulated bed base 12.

According to the invention, this upper frame 22 supports the articulated bed base 12.

More specifically, the upper frame 22 supports the articulated bed base 12 so as to set it in motion, some parts 14 of the bed base 12 able to rest or rely on parts of the lower frame 18 according to the position they take when they are set in motion.

The bed 10 extends along a longitudinal central axis L10 between a footboard 24 and a headboard 26.

This longitudinal central axis L10 is parallel to the coating plane PC formed by the coating surface 16 when the different parts 14 of the mattress 12 are not inclined relative to each other, as illustrated by FIGS. Figures 2 and 3 and this longitudinal central axis L10 is contained in a vertical median plane PMV separating the bed 10 into two longitudinal halves.

According to an important characteristic of the invention, the upper frame 22 is mounted in translation along the longitudinal central axis L10 on the lower frame 18.

With this mounting in translation, the upper frame 22, and therefore the articulated bed base 12 that it supports, can be brought to the footboard 24 to accompany a bedridden person to a sitting position at the foot of the bed, and even to a standing position at the foot of the bed to help the person get out of bed.

In more detail, and as illustrated by the figures 1 and 2 , the lower frame 18 comprises an upper platform 28, a lower platform 30 receiving the ground supports 20, and means 32 for raising, lowering or tilting the upper platform 28 relative to the lower platform 30, and therefore with respect to the ground S.

In order to mount it in translation, the upper frame 22 takes the form of a carriage 34 slidably mounted in translation along the longitudinal central axis L10 on the upper platform 28.

In a preferred embodiment of the lower frame 18, and as illustrated by the Figures 1 to 3 , the lower platform 30 consists of two side members 361,362, and the means 32 for raising, lowering or the inclination of the upper platform 28 comprise, respectively on the side of the headboard 26 and the side of the footboard 24, the uprights 381,382 and the uprights 383,384 and an actuator 401,402, these amounts 381,382 and 383,384 and these actuators 401,402 being articulated between the lower platform 30 and the upper platform 28.

Preferably, these amounts 381,382 and 383,384 and these actuators 401,402 are articulated between the lower platform 30 and the upper platform 28 about transverse axes perpendicular to the longitudinal central axis L10. In a preferred embodiment of translational mounting of the upper frame 22, two lateral rails 421, 422 are mounted along the longitudinal edges 281, 282 of the upper platform 28, and the sliding carriage 34 comprises lateral walls 341, 342 supporting rollers (not visible on the figures) guided in translation in these lateral rails 421, 422.

With a view to the automated translation of the carriage 34, an actuator 44 is articulated between the upper platform 28 and the sliding carriage 34.

Preferably, this actuator 44 is articulated to the upper platform 28 and the sliding carriage 34 about transverse axes perpendicular to the longitudinal central axis L10.

Advantageously, this actuator 44 is placed under the upper platform 28 and under the sliding carriage 34.

As is visible in figure 1 , the articulated bed base 12 comprises a seat 46, a backrest 48 hinged to this seat on the side of the headboard 26, a leg rest 50 articulated to this seat on the side of the footboard 24, and a footrest 52 articulated to the thighs and extending the thighs to the footboard 24.

According to the invention, only the seat 46 is fixed on the sliding carriage 34.

Indeed, this seat 46 is the only part 14 of the bed base 12 which does not need to be inclined relative to the upper frame 22.

In a preferred embodiment of the movement of the various parts 14 of the bed base 12, only the backrest 48 and the thigh 50 are rotated by actuators.

As is visible on the Figures 4 to 7 an actuator 54 for rotating the backrest 48 with respect to the seat 46 is articulated between the sliding carriage 34 and this backrest, and an actuator 56 for rotating the thigh recess 50 with respect to the seat 46 is articulated between the sliding carriage 34 and this leg rest 50.

Preferably, the different parts 14 of the bed base 12 are hinged together about transverse axes perpendicular to the longitudinal central axis L10, and the actuators 54,56 which connect some of these parts 14 to each other are also articulated to these parts 14 around transverse axes perpendicular to the longitudinal central axis L10.

Advantageously, the actuator 54 for rotating the backrest 48 with respect to the seat 46 is placed under the sliding carriage 34 and under this backrest, and the actuator 56 for rotating the thigh lift 50 relative to the seat 46 is placed under the sliding carriage 34 and under the leg rest 50. In order to improve the support of the bedridden person to a sitting position or almost standing at the foot of the bed, the footrest 52 comprises at least one retractable footrest 58.

Thus, when this footrest 58 comes into contact with the ground S due to a setting in motion of the bed base 12, as for example that illustrated in FIG. figure 7 it does not block this setting in motion.

Finally, in order to obtain a kinematic of the bed base 12 to comfortably accompany the bedridden person to a sitting position or almost standing at the foot of the bed, the upper platform 28 comprises a retractable end portion 60 at the foot of bed 24, this end portion 60 being deployed in figure 2 and retracted in figure 3 .

Specifically, this retractable end portion 60 reduces the length L28 of the upper platform 28 to allow the footrest 58 and the footrest 52 to descend more quickly to the ground S when the bed base 12 is translated to the foot of bed 24, as can be seen on the Figures 4 to 7 .

Compared with the prior art, the design of the bed 10 according to the invention, and more particularly the setting in motion of its articulated bed base 12, is simple, reliable and compact.

In parallel, the present invention also covers a method of using the bed 10 which has just been described.

This method of use relates to an accompanying cycle of a bedridden person to a sitting position, and a cycle of accompanying a bedridden person to a position almost standing.

• translation, preferably over a travel of 350 millimeters, of the sliding carriage 34 towards the footboard 24, as illustrated by FIG. figure 5 , and

As illustrated in figure 1 the bed 10 comprises control means 62 of the various actuators 44, 401, 402, 54 and 56.

Also, these control means 62 comprising various buttons for triggering different movements or different sequences of movements of the articulated bed 12 and the upper frame 22 and lower 18, the method of use provides that the support on a single button, called button "Meal", triggers the accompaniment cycle.

Due to the safety standards, any relaxation of the support on this "meal" button during the accompanying cycle of the bedridden person to a sitting position stops all movement of the bed 10 and its articulated bed base 12.

In order to accompany a bedridden person to an almost standing position, and as illustrated by figure 7 , the method of use provides for adding a final step of inclining the upper platform 28 by raising the headboard 26 and lowering the footboard 24.

The upper platform 28 comprising a retractable end portion 60 at the foot of bed 24, the method of use provides for retracting the end portion 60, for example manually, before the second lifting step of the backrest 48 and the thigh lift 50.

Claims (13)

Bed (10) comprising an articulated bed base (12) comprising various hinged portions (14) forming a sleeping surface (16) for receiving a mattress, the bed comprising a first lower frame (18) with supports on the floor (20) , this lower frame for raising, lowering or tilting the hinged bed (12) relative to the ground (S), the bed further comprising a second upper frame (22) interposed between the lower frame (18) and the articulated bed base (12), said upper frame supporting the articulated bed base (12), and the bed extending along a longitudinal central axis (L10) between a footboard (24) and a headboard ( 26), the bed (10) being characterized in that the upper frame (22) is mounted in translation along the longitudinal central axis (L10) on the lower frame (18).
