Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a cashbox comprising a receiving area for receiving a banknote stack and a housing. The cashbox is designed such that it can be received in a device for handling notes of value, in particular an ATM, an automatic cash register system and / or an automatic cash deposit in corresponding receiving compartments.

For the scheduled operation of an ATM, an automatic cash deposit and / or an automatic checkout system, it is important that a cash box is also inserted into the receptacle for which it is intended. A disadvantage of these known methods is that with them it is still possible to use the cashbox in a wrong receiving compartment. In both cases, the cash-in-transit company employee must place the cash box in the tray indicated on the sticker or display. Such a process is naturally error-prone. In addition, the components required for the magnetic coding are costly.

It is an object of the invention to provide a cashbox and a device for handling bank notes, in which it is ensured in a simple manner that a cashbox is inserted into the intended receiving compartment.

This object is achieved by a cashbox having the features of claim 1 and by a device for handling banknotes with the features of the further independent claim. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

According to the invention, the cashbox comprises a housing arranged on the mechanical coding unit for selectively assigning the cashbox to a first receiving compartment of a device for handling banknotes or at least a second receiving compartment of this device. The coding unit has a coding element which is adjustable between a first and at least a second position, wherein the coding element is designed such that the cashbox is fed to the first receiving compartment only when the coding element is arranged in the first position, and such that the Cashbox only the second storage compartment can be fed when the coding element is arranged in the second position.

The coding element is preferably designed such that, when it is arranged in the first position, it mechanically prevents insertion of the cash box into a storage receptacle other than the first receptacle. The coding element is in particular designed such that, when it is arranged in the second position, mechanically prevents insertion of the cashbox into a different receiving compartment than the second receiving compartment. Thus, the insertion of the cashbox is prevented in a wrong receiving compartment in a simple manner.
