Abstract

The invention relates to a device (2) for attaching a bracelet to a middle part (4) of a watch, comprising a fastener (54) intended to be integral with the caseband (4), and at least one connecting member ( 56) having a mechanical connection (62, 82, 84) with the fastener (54) and intended to be secured to one end of the bracelet. The invention is characterized in that the mechanical connection (62, 82, 84) is arranged in such a way that the connecting member (56) is able to present a rotational movement with reference to the middle part (4), along an axis of rotation orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet and located at a distance from the mechanical connection (62, 82, 84).

Description

    Technical area
  • The present invention relates to a device for attaching a bracelet to a watchband. More specifically, the mechanism according to the invention comprises a fastener intended to be secured to the middle part, and at least one connecting member having a mechanical connection with the fastener, and intended to be secured to one end of the strap.
  • State of the art
  • Devices of this type have already been disclosed in the prior art. For example, the patent US5,577,007 presents a wristwatch comprising two connecting members pivotally mounted on the middle part and secured to the ends of a bracelet by means of a fixing rod. The connecting members are shaped so as to partially cover the middle part of the watch in regions at "six o'clock" and "twelve o'clock".
  • This conformation allows the connecting member to have a large range of displacement, and to marry the shape of the wrist of the user.
  • However, when the watch is worn by a person with a thin wrist, the angle between the middle and the connecting member is important. The solution described in this patent is therefore carried out at the expense of the aesthetic appearance of the watch.
  • Disclosure of the invention
  • A main object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the patent attachment device US5,577,007 , by providing a fastening device improving the harmony of the lines of the watch, while allowing a large range of angular displacement between the middle part of the watch and the fastening device.
  • For this purpose, the present invention relates more particularly to a fastening device as described above, characterized in that the mechanical connection between the fastener and the connecting member is arranged in such a way that the connecting member is likely to present a rotational movement with reference to the middle, along an axis of rotation orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet, and is located at a distance from the mechanical connection.
  • Thanks to these characteristics, the connecting member according to the invention can move at a large angle in order to follow the shape of the wrist of the user, without harming the harmony of the lines of the watch.
  • Preferably, the mechanical connection is made by the cooperation of at least one male member arranged to move in at least one female member comprising a slot having substantially the shape of a portion of a circle.
  • The fact of using a slot and not a hole makes it possible to move the position of the axis of rotation of the connecting member relative to the attachment member so that the connecting member can rotate in a large angular range, while preserving the aesthetic appearance of the watch.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the fastener comprises two side walls in each of which is formed a slot having substantially the shape of a portion of a circle, the connecting member carrying at least two male members arranged to cooperate each with the one of the slots, or at least one male member arranged to cooperate simultaneously with the slots.
  • Advantageously, the connecting member has first and second pairs of horns capable of allowing the attachment of the connecting member, respectively, to the middle part and the bracelet. The first pair of horns preferably comprises a first pair of holes for securing a first rod by its ends, the rod being engaged in the slots of the fastener, to fulfill the role of the male member.
  • Furthermore, preferably, the first pair of horns comprises a second pair of holes for securing a second rod by its ends, the rod being substantially parallel to the first rod and engaged in the slots of the attachment, to fulfill the role of an additional male organ.
  • The present invention also relates to watch cases having a middle on either side of which are arranged first and second fasteners, according to the preceding features and, intended to allow the attachment of a bracelet, each said fastening devices comprising a fastener secured to the middle part.
  • The invention also relates to watch cases of the type which has just been described, and whose attachment is formed integrally with the middle part.
  • Finally, the invention relates to wristwatches comprising a box as shown, and a bracelet connected to the box.
  • Brief description of the drawings
  • Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading the detailed description of a preferred embodiment which follows, made with reference to the accompanying drawings given by way of non-limiting examples and in which:
  • - the figure 1 is an exploded perspective view, from below, of a bracelet attachment device to a watch middle, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention;
  • - the figure 2 also shows an exploded perspective view, from above, of the fastening device according to the invention;
  • - the figure 3 is a perspective view of the attachment device from below, when it is mounted on the middle, before the bottom is assembled to the middle part.
  • Mode (s) of realization of the invention
  • According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, presented to figures 1 and 2 , the watch case 1 comprises a fastening device 2, a bottom 3, a middle part 4 and a bezel 5.
  • More specifically, the bottom 3 comprises a frame 6 having a substantially rectangular shape and curved so as to follow the shape of the wrist of the person wearing the watch. The surface of the base 7 of the frame 6 is smaller than that of the upper part 8.
  • The frame 6 comprises a central portion 9 which may be advantageously transparent, such as a sapphire crystal so that the user can visualize the movement. Alternatively, the portion 9 may also be opaque.
  • The upper part 8 of the frame 6 carries a projection 10, of substantially more rounded shape than the frame 6. This projection 10 has a groove 12 on its ridge for housing a seal (not shown here).
  • Furthermore, at each of the four corners of the frame 6 is a through hole 14 for housing an assembly screw (not shown) of the bottom 3 on the middle part 4.
  • The outer walls of the frame 6, located at "six o'clock" and "twelve o'clock" each comprise a tab 15 for concealing stems, as will be seen in the following description.
  • Furthermore, on another outer wall of the frame 6, located opposite the "three o'clock" position, a recess 16 having the shape of a disc portion is provided to house the winding crown (not visible here).
  • This disk portion 16 is completed by a second disk portion 18, located on the middle part 4, so that the two portions 16 and 18 form an entire disk when the box 1 is assembled. The second disk portion 18 further includes a central hole 20 through which the winding stem (not shown) passes.
  • The middle part 4 has a shape similar to that of the bottom 3, that is to say it is substantially rectangular, and here has the same curvature as the bottom 3 for illustrative non-limiting.
  • Four blind holes 25, located on the base 24 of the middle 4, facing the holes 14, are used to accommodate the assembly screws of the bottom on the middle part.
  • On the upper part 22 of the middle part 4, four blind holes 26 can accommodate assembly feet located on the bezel 5, as we will see later.
  • The inner wall of the middle part 4 has a first shoulder 28, plane, all around the circumference of the middle part, and having a shape identical to that of the projection 10, so that the assembly of the bottom 3 and the middle part 4 be waterproof, by interposing a non-visible seal.
  • The upper portion 30 of the shoulder 28 has four recesses 32 centered respectively on the "3 o'clock", "6 o'clock", "9 o'clock" and "12 o'clock" positions. Between each hollow 32 is an edge 34, of height substantially equal to half the height of the recesses 32. The recesses 32 and the edges 34 are intended to support the movement of the watch (not shown).
  • The inner wall of the middle part 4 also comprises four planar bearing surfaces 36 located substantially at each corner of the middle part and against which the seat 5 rests.
  • Moreover, the bezel 5 has a contour 38 of shape similar to that of the bottom 3 and the middle 4, the base 40 of the contour 38 being of equal dimensions to those of the upper part 22 of the middle part 4, and the upper part 42 of the bezel 5 occupying a smaller area than the base 40.
  • Note that the outer walls 44 of the bezel 5 are advantageously bevelled, so that the appearance of the watch is particularly harmonious.
  • The base 40 of the bezel 5 comprises a substantially rectangular projection 46, which carries a groove 48 on its ridge to accommodate a seal (not shown here). This projection 46 rests on the bearing surfaces 36 of the caseband 4 when the box 1 is assembled.
  • The base 40 also carries four feet 50 located opposite the holes 26. These feet 50 are intended to mount the bezel 5 on the middle part 4.
  • The bezel 5 also carries an ice 52, of substantially rectangular shape, which may for example be sapphire or glass. This one is for example glued in the opening of the telescope 5.
  • The box 1 also comprises two watch strap attachment devices 2, each comprising a fastener 54 integral with the middle part 4, and placed opposite the "six o'clock" and "twelve o'clock" positions, and a connecting member 56 which is mounted on the fastener 54, as will be seen later.
  • Note that the width of the fastening device 2 is close to that of the middle part 4, so that the lines of the watch are as aesthetic as possible. As a result, the connecting member 56 has a width similar to that of the middle part 4, while the fastener 54 is narrower, and has a width substantially equal to that of the tab 15.
  • Moreover, the curvature of the fastening device 2 has also been worked in such a manner as to avoid any discontinuity of the lines of the watch when a user wears it. The curvature is similar to that of the middle 4 near the latter, and increases towards the bracelet (not shown).
  • From the structural point of view, the fastener 54 has a substantially rectangular upper portion 58, and two side walls 60 each of which is provided with a slot 62 having substantially the shape of a circular arc.
  • The clip also carries a first bar 64 situated substantially against the middle part 4 and intended to reinforce the resistance of the device, as well as a transverse bar 66, of reduced height relative to the side walls and disposed at the end of the upper part. 58, to conceal the inside of the attachment device 2 when the connecting member 56 has a large angular displacement, that is to say when the person wearing the watch has a thin wrist.
  • The connecting member 56 comprises meanwhile two side walls 68 having a substantially triangular shape, so that the sides 70 of the side walls 58 in contact with the middle part 4 have a thickness similar to that of the latter. Note that the sides 70 have a curvature substantially complementary to that of the sides of the middle part 4, so as to match the shape of the latter when the connecting member 56 rotates.
  • The side walls 68 are connected by a central bridge 72, so that the connecting member 56 has a shape of H, preferably but not limited to. Thus, the connecting member 56 is separated into two areas, the first comprising horns 74 attachment to the middle part, while the second comprises horns 76 for attachment to the bracelet.
  • The horns 74 comprise two pairs of blind holes 78 and 80, intended to house the ends of two rods 82 and 84 engaged in the slots 62 of the side walls 60 of the clip 54, to allow the connecting member 56 to move relative to the fastener 54 along an axis of virtual rotation remote from the axis of the rods 82 and 84, since it is in the middle part 4.
  • It appears in detail on the figure 3 that, in conventional manner, the rods 82 and 84 each comprise a cylindrical central body 86, ends 88 of finer diameter, spaced apart from each other by a nonvisible spring, and provided with two ribs 90.
  • Moreover, the horns 76 have a pair of blind holes 92, intended to house the ends of a third rod 94 serving to attach the watch strap to the box 1.
  • When assembling the box 1 and the attachment device 2, the rods 82 and 84 are inserted into the slot 62 and into the two pairs of holes 78 and 80. The bezel 5 is sealingly assembled on the middle part 4. The bottom 3 is finally attached to the middle part 4, also sealingly.
  • Once the entirety of the parts assembled, the rods 82 and 84 are completely concealed by the upper part 58 of the fastener 54, and by the tab 15 of the bottom 3. The watch has a streamlined appearance, and its curves are substantially continuous , from the box to the bracelet.
  • Ultimately, regardless of the size of the wrist of the user, the present invention can significantly improve the aesthetic qualities of the watch.
  • The foregoing description attempts to describe a particular embodiment by way of non-limiting illustration, and the invention is not limited to certain particular characteristics which have just been described, in particular the particular forms illustrated and described for the middle part, the bottom, the telescope and the horns. Many other embodiments could be envisaged without departing from the scope of the invention.
  • A single rod could for example be used to assemble the connecting member and the fastener, in association with a slot of larger size. small on the clip, so as to obtain the same amplitude of movement.

Claims (8)

  1. Fastening device (2) for a bracelet with a watch middle (4), comprising a fastener (54) intended to be secured to the caseband (4), and at least one connecting member (56) having a connection mechanical (62, 82, 84) with said fastener (54) and intended to be integral with one end of said bracelet, characterized in that said mechanical connection (62, 82, 84) is arranged in such a way that said connecting member (56) is able to present a rotational movement with reference to the middle part (4), along an axis of rotation orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet and located at a distance from said mechanical connection (62, 82, 84).
  2. Fastening device (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that said mechanical connection (62, 82, 84) is made by the cooperation of at least one male member (82, 84) arranged to move in at least a female member (62) comprising a slot having substantially the shape of a portion of a circle.
  3. Fastening device (2) according to claim 2, characterized in that said fastener (54) comprises two side walls (60) in each of which is formed a slot (62) having substantially the shape of a portion of a circle, said connecting member (56) carrying at least two male members (82, 84) arranged to each cooperate with one of said slots (62) or at least one male member (82, 84) arranged to co-operate simultaneously with said slots (62); ).
  4. Fastening device (2) according to claim 3, characterized in that said connecting member (56) has first and second pairs of horns (74, 76) capable of allowing the attachment of said connecting member (56), respectively to the middle (4) and the bracelet, and in that said first pair of horns (74) comprises a first pair of holes (78) for securing a first rod (82) by its ends said rod (82) being engaged in said slots (62) of said clip (54) to fulfill the role of said male member.
  5. Fastening device (2) according to claim 4, characterized in that said first pair of horns (74) comprises a second pair of holes (80) for securing a second rod (84) by its ends. , said rod (84) being substantially parallel to said first rod (82) and engaged in said slots (62) of said fastener (54), to fulfill the role of an additional male member.
  6. Watch case (1) having a middle (4) on either side of which are arranged first and second attachment devices (2), according to any one of the preceding claims and, intended to allow attachment a bracelet, each of said fastening devices (2) comprising a fastener (54) integral with said middle part (4).
  7. Watch case (1) according to claim 6, characterized in that said fastener (54) is integrally formed with said middle part (4).
  8. Wristwatch comprising a box (1), according to any one of claims 6 or 7, and a bracelet connected to said box (1).
