Abstract

Description

    TECHNICAL AREA
  • The present invention relates to the field of transport technology, as used in particular in the context of print finishing. It relates to an intersection between two transport routes according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • STATE OF THE ART
  • In postpress, but not only there, sheet products, e.g. folded sheets, newspapers, brochures, flyers or the like., often in compacted form as a scale stream, transported between the various processing and / or storage stations. In this case, it is often necessary to divert shingled streams from one transport route to another, intersecting transport route, wherein this diversion should be reversible. In a first setting, the products are transported without further hindrance on one transport route. In a switchable second setting, the scale flow is deflected from one transport path to the other crossing transport route. Here, the scale formation should remain as such as possible unchanged.
  • From the publication DE 33 02 935 is a device for turning od of sheet or the like. Particle scales of given length about its vertical center axis known to be directed at the sheet in the form of a scale on a right angle diverter on a switch and from this on a winding tape. The printed sheets are wound with a winding tape to form a winding on a core and temporarily stored in this form. If the printed sheets are to be fed for further processing, then the winding tape is unwound from the reel and rolled up again by a reel supply roll. While unrolling the winding tape from the winding a switch is pivoted to a lower position, whereby the sheets reach a lower rectangular deflector and from this to a part of a conveyor line (see the local Fig. 1 and 2 ). The deflection between the individual sections takes place here by fixed 90 ° deflectors whose free ends are arranged one above the other and can be selectively selected by a switch.
  • The publication DE 33 04 219 discloses an apparatus for stacking signatures with a hub rotatably mounted in a machine stand, with a tape brought up and unwound along a predetermined path to the hub, a first transfer point being provided on the path of the tape. The belt is guided over several pulleys and can be wound on either one of two hubs and forms on its way a first transfer point and a second transfer point. A switch arrangement connects on the one hand the second transfer point with a feeder conveyor line and with the first transfer point. It also connects the first transfer point with a removal route. The switch assembly has a stationary stored, drivable in two directions conveyor belt and two parallel conveyor belts whose the conveyor belt facing ends up and are swung. If a large number of printed sheets attached to a partial scale are transported on the feeder conveyor track and the printed sheets are thrown from there onto a conveyor belt, then these sheets are again in the form of a partial scale from the lowered end of the conveyor belt to the other conveyor belt and from there to another Hand over ribbon (see Fig. 1-3 ). Also in this case, the switchable deflection is effected exclusively by pivotable switches.
  • The same applies to the device for processing printed products according to the printed document WO 94/02398 ,
  • In all cases known from the prior art actively driven switches are used to achieve the switchability, which requires an increased drive and control effort. In addition, the scale formation is often changed or influenced.
  • PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION
  • It is therefore an object of the invention to design a generic junction so that these disadvantages are avoided, and that in particular a simplified switching is possible.
  • These and other objects are achieved by the features of claim 1.
  • The invention is based on an intersection between two transport paths, which are designed for the horizontal transport of flat products, in particular printed products, preferably in the form of a scale flow, of which a transport route over the other transport route is guided away at a predetermined distance and angle, wherein controllable means for transferring the transported products from one of the transport routes to the other of the transport routes are provided in the area of the intersection, which in a first setting allow unimpeded passage of the transport of the products on one of the transport routes and in a second setting the transported products of the transport to divert one of the transport routes to the other. It is characterized in that the transfer means comprise a transfer device with a space curve describing, adaptable deflection, which maintains a distance to one of the transport paths with a movable free end in the first setting and in the second setting with the free end in one of the Transport routes deflecting engages.
  • An embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the other end of the deflection is connected to the transport of the other transport routes. As a result, the adjustment mechanism can be further simplified.
  • The mechanism is particularly simple if, according to another embodiment, the deflection path has a constant length, and the space curve of the deflection path changes when the free end of the deflection path is moved. Under moving is understood inter alia a method and a pivoting.
  • A further embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the deflection path has at least one support curve following the space curve on which the products transported on the deflection path are guided lying on top.
  • The support strip may be made of different materials, e.g. a plastic. In particular, the at least one support strip can be a metal or sheet-metal strip which is particularly resistant during operation and, with high stability at the same time, adapts well to the space curve.
  • For the support of the products, it is particularly advantageous if two mutually parallel, spaced-apart support strips are provided, and between the support strip of the space curve following roller conveyor is arranged.
  • In particular, a driven on the roller conveyor, driven sub-belt is provided for transporting the products along the roller conveyor.
  • To fix the products on the lower belt is provided with the lower band passively moving, fitting upper belt.
  • Another embodiment of the invention is characterized in that in one of the transport sections a swing-out section is provided, and that an actuating means is arranged at the movable free end of the deflection, with which the deflection when engaging in the one of the transport sections from the swing-out section which swings out one of the transport routes.
  • Preferably, an adjusting device is provided for moving the free end of the deflection.
  • The adjustment works with advantage pneumatically or hydraulically or electrically.
  • Another embodiment is characterized in that the two transport paths intersect at an angle of substantially 90 °, and that the deflection path describes a space curve, which causes a deflection by substantially 90 ° with simultaneous turning of the flat products.

    WAYS FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
  • In Fig. 1 is shown in plan view from above the (highly simplified) scheme of an intersection according to an embodiment of the invention. The intersection 10 consists in this case of two at a right angle of α = 90 ° crossing transport routes 11 and 12, on which the sheet products 14 can be transported here in the form of a scale flow 13 in the longitudinal direction. In principle, the transport can take place on the transport sections 11, 12 in both directions. In the present example, the transport path 12 is formed as a simple continuous route, while at a distance across it leading transport route 11 includes several sections 11 ac. How out Fig. 2 becomes clear, the middle section 11b is formed as swing-out section.
  • Between the lower transport path 12 and at a distance d overlying, crossing transport section 11, a transfer device 15 is arranged, which in Fig. 1 is indicated only by a dashed double arrow, in the side view of Fig. 2 however, can be seen in a schematic representation. The transfer device 15 comprises a deflection path 25, which follows a twisted in space curve, so that the transported on the deflection path 25 products 14 are deflected in the plane of the intersecting transport sections 11, 12 by 90 ° and are turned at the same time. In addition, the products 14 in height by the distance d, depending on the transport direction, raised or lowered. Such a twisted space curve has the particular advantage that it is customizable.
  • This adaptability of the deflection path 25 is of particular importance for the present invention because it allows a particularly simple embodiment of the switchable transfer device 15. This can be determined by the Fig. 2 explain in a simple way: According to Fig. 2a the deflection line 25 of the transfer device 15 is arranged below the middle section 11b of the overlying transport section 11 such that when stretching the curved deflection section 25 (transition from Fig. 2a to Fig. 2b ) presses the deflecting section 25 with its free end or head 16 via an actuating means 17 from below against the pivotable or hinged middle section 11b and swings it upwards ( Fig. 2b ). At the same time, the deflection path 25 with the head 16 adjoins the route section 11a such that products 14 transported on this route section can be transferred directly to the deflection route 25 or (in the case of the reverse transport direction) via the deflection route 25 brought products 14 directly to the route section 11a can be forwarded. The pivoting out of the middle track section 11b can be done passively as described above. However, it is also conceivable to provide a separate drive mechanism for swinging out.
  • If the engagement of the transfer device 15 are terminated in the transport path 11, the head 16 is lowered again, whereby the middle section 11 b in the non-swung position of Fig. 2a sinks back and the transport route 11 closes again and makes it continuous. In this switching operation, the other end of the transfer device 15 or the deflection path 25 remains firmly connected to the transport path 12. However, it is in principle conceivable that the transfer device 15 is also formed on this page analog switchable.
  • Furthermore, it is provided in preferred embodiments (see also Fig. 3 ), the transfer device 15 along the transport path 12 form movable to start with the same transfer device 15 other intersections of the transport path 12 and more than an intersection with transversely across transport routes for the purpose of deflection. But it is also conceivable to provide on the transport path 12 two oppositely deflecting transfer devices of the type described, which are optionally driven under the intersection 10 to deflect an incoming on the transport section 11 Schuppenstrom 13 to the left or to the right on the transport path 12.
  • In Fig. 3 two parallel operating transfer devices 15a and 15b are shown side by side, which are each movable on an associated transport path 18a and 18b. On the transport lines 18a, b circumferential conveyor belts 19a, b are provided in the longitudinal direction, with which the transport of the products 14 from and to the transfer devices 15a, b takes place.
  • In the transfer devices 15a, b is in each case a roller conveyor 21 is arranged with rollers which are mounted along a predetermined space curve one behind the other. About the rollers of the roller conveyor runs a motor-driven sub-belt 22, on which rest the products in imbricated formation. From the top, an upper belt 23 in the space curve conforms to the lower belt 22, so that the imbricated flow of the products between the two belts 22 and 23 is held and transported. The upper belt 23 is not driven here itself, but runs by friction with.
  • On both sides of the roller conveyor 21 wide support strips 20a, b are arranged, which pass parallel to the roller conveyor 21, the predetermined space curve. The support strips 20a, b may be formed as plastic strips, but preferably consist of a bendable steel sheet. This ensures, inter alia, that electrostatic charges are largely avoided. The shape of the space curve of the deflection section 25 is thereby decisively from Twisting behavior of the support strips 20a, b determined. As the name suggests, support strips 20a, b laterally support the sheet products held between bands 22 and 23.
  • At the head 16 of the transfer devices 15a, b, which is moved when switching in the vertical direction, an actuating means 17 is arranged, which comprises an axle 26 mounted in an upwardly projecting frame. To this axis 26, the upper belt 23 is guided deflecting and forms together with the lower belt 22 an inlet for the products to be acquired.
  • The head 16 with the actuating means 17 can be moved vertically by a hydraulically or pneumatically (or also electrically) actuatable adjusting device 24 (actuating cylinder), so that the actuating means 17 engages or disengages from the middle section 11b. As in Fig. 4 can be seen, the roller conveyor 21 in the region of the head 16 on a pivotable portion 27, which can be pivoted by means of the adjusting device 24 about a pivot axis 28 up or down and thereby moves the actuating means 17.
  • When pivoting the portion 27 and the actuating means 17, the support strips 20a, b are geometrically deformed. Thanks to their elastic bending ability they can compensate for the difference in height, the head 16 in lower and upper position experiences. It is a particular advantage that with point-related suspension of the support strips 20a, b the necessary geometric deformation over the entire or at least over larger surface areas of the support strips 20a, b can be compensated. Of course, the roller conveyor 21 and the belts 22 and 23 are moved in this process according to the height adjustment. Their spatial compensation movement is due to their flexibility constructively accessible by known means.
  • The transport sections 11 and 12 are formed flat and straight in the embodiments shown here. However, in special applications it may also be advantageous to arrange the transport sections or their sections 11a-c along spatial curves (for example in a plane curve or also with a path that overcomes a plane offset). The introduction of the head 16 is to be selected in such arrangements so that a homogeneous insertion area arises. Of course, the transport section 12 may have multiple sections if necessary.
  • Furthermore, in preferred embodiments, the insertion region for the flat products in the region of the head 16 instead of a hinged stretch section can also take place in a closable opening region between the stretch sections 11a and 11b. In this case, there is a gap between the ends of the two track sections 11a, b, which can preferably be bridged by a displaceable or movable intermediate element (not shown). When lifting the head 16, for example, by a suitable lever system, the intermediate element can be pushed away. This solution is advantageous if the elevation of the section 11b (see FIG. Fig. 2 ) Could cause collisions with overlying components. Again, the release takes place at the insertion only by a head 16 actuated drive.
  • The deflection line 25, as in the FIGS. 2a and 2b shown, has the mentioned twisted space curve. It is within the scope of the inventive idea possible to execute this space curve in different waveforms, for example, also looping, in order to guide the products from above on the track section 11 and away from it.
  • The transport of the products can be done in a known manner in the form of a scale flow, but also isolated or multi-layered. Furthermore, the angle that the transport sections 11 and 12 enclose with each other, in addition to the right angle shown in other arrangements, for example. With a 60 ° -Winkelstellung.
  • If the products described are transported and transferred in the form of dandruff with the described arrangement, it can also be used in suitable operation to densify the scale flow either by shortening the distance between successive products or by extending the same distance apart. Such a change in the scale current density is achieved in that the transport speed of the scale before and after the transfer between two routes is chosen differently: To stretch the scale, the transport speed after the transfer is higher, for upsetting it is lower. By turning the scale in the transfer device 15a, b can be ensured that the foremost product in the scale always comes to lie lowermost.
