Description

The present invention relates to a container with a plurality of articles or containers and a method for producing a container by applying a strapping.

There are various ways known to combine individual articles into larger containers. For example, beverage containers are usually combined and packaged by means of shrink films into containers of four, six or more containers. The production of containers is usually unavoidable, since they represent the most common variant of sales units for beverage containers and bottles made of PET plastic. The containers are partially recombined for transport and / or put together in layers and palletized.

The shrink films used for the production of known containers require certain production steps, which have a relatively high energy demand. In addition, the film used causes costs for production, for the provision, for handling and for later disposal, since it is no longer needed after the sale. The machine equipment for providing the so-called. Film wrapping modules and other handling stations causes high investment costs. Finally, the provision of the so-called. Shrink tunnel, in which the slipped around the container film is shrunk by Heißluftbeaufschlagung around the bottles, requires a relatively high capital investment.

The containers can also be summarized by means of so-called. Umreifungsbänder to a container and connected to each other. Such straps stretch the containers together and ensure the stabilization of the container. To remove the containers, the container must be disassembled by severing the strapping bands, either by tearing or by being cut. Due to the bias of the strapping, which is essential to ensure a stable bundle of containers, the straps tend to split when whipping, which is the User can feel uncomfortable. In addition, he may find it uncomfortable that the strapping can be difficult to solve or divide without the aid of tools.

From the DE 1 457 489 A is a container with several bottles known, which are held together in the form of a package by means of endless belts. A handle allows carrying the package.

A grid-like structure made of plastic for the fixation of beverage cans and the formation of containers is from the US 38 13 123 A known. Tie bars, which extend between the attachment portions of the grids, serve as gripping portions for easier carrying of the containers.

Another bundle arrangement is in the US 57 75 486 A disclosed. Rows of three or six bottles or cans are each fixed with top-side attachments made of cardboard and combined by means of strapping bands into larger containers EP 1 886 921 A1 discloses a container according to the preamble of claim 1.

An object of the present invention is to provide a low cost, stable and easy to handle container assembly which at least partially obviates the aforementioned disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, the container should be easy to handle, among other things by a slight possibility of handling the separable straps that hold the container together.

These objects of the invention are achieved with the subject matters of the independent claims, wherein features of advantageous developments of the invention result from the respective dependent claims. To achieve the objects, the present invention proposes a container formed of at least two interconnected articles, such as beverage containers, PET containers, or the like, which are provided with at least one band or band stretched horizontally around an outside of the article or container strip-like, closed strapping are held together. The strapping is formed by one, two or more similar or different bands of plastic or a composite material, which are glued together at their ends and overlapping each other to form a one-piece or multi-part contact point and / or welded. According to the invention, the strapping is provided with at least one loop which acts as a relief loop or as a so-called compensator. Optionally, the strapping may have formed at least one loop at the point of contact and / or away from it.

In a first embodiment of the container at least one band of the strapping at the contact point of the two ends at least two separate connection points and an intervening discharge loop on. In this variant, the loop arranged between the two connection points preferably points towards an inside of the container, i. towards the strapped containers or articles. Optionally and in an alternative embodiment, the discharge loop could also point to the outside of the container, depending on the design of the contact point and the two connection points.

Preferably, it may be provided that a release force for opening the first connection point, which adjoins a pull-off handle on one side, is less than a release force for opening the second connection point, which is separated from the first connection point by the release strap. In this way it can be ensured that, under all circumstances, the first connection point first yields and tears when the pull-off handle is pulled manually, so that initially the pretensioning of the strapping band is reduced by tightening the release tab. Only then can a larger resistance bidding second connection point be opened and torn open.

In a second embodiment variant of the container, at least one band of the strapping at the contact point of the two ends at least two mutually separate or directly adjoining connection points adjacent to a container pointing to the fitting or the PET containers fitting loop. The loop is formed here by a simply folded end portion of one end of the strapping band. The other end of the band is laid over this folded end portion and connected to form the inner loop and forming the contact point with the outside of the first end of the band.

Preferably, it can also be provided in this variant that a release force for opening that connection point which is adjacent to the peel grip on one side is less than a release force for opening the other connection point, which is immediately adjacent to the relief flap and at least slightly adjacent to the peel-off joint is spaced. In this way it can be ensured that, under all circumstances, the first connection point first yields and tears when the pull-off handle is pulled manually, so that initially the pretensioning of the strapping band is reduced by tightening the release tab. Only then can a larger resistance bidding second connection point be opened and torn open.

A third embodiment of the container according to the invention provides that at least one band of the strapping at a distance from the contact point of the two ends has at least one loop-shaped course, in which the band is folded twice or placed one on top of the other, and the folded-over area, in which three band sections lie one above the other, fixed to each other at least at one point with the connection of all three superposed band sections, in particular welded or glued. An inner loop portion delimiting the container and delimited by the connection point forms the discharge flap in this variant.

In all variants, it may be provided that an outer loop section, which is directed towards the outside of the container and is delimited by the connection point, forms a tear-open tab for opening the strapping band. Optionally, an end of the band projecting beyond the contact point of the strapping band ends welded or glued together may form a peel-off handle. Furthermore, it may be advantageous for the ease of handling if the contact point facing the protruding end and / or the connection point of the triple loop tape loops has a structured bonding and / or welding point for influencing and / or facilitating a detachment process.

As the above description has shown, the loop arranged between the two connection points can be arranged inside or outside the container tying. The strapping itself can be made by one, two or more similar or different bands of plastic or a Composite material may be formed, wherein the bands are glued at their ends in each case overlapping or bumping together, welded, clamped, knotted or otherwise connected.

In the context of the invention, an application head should also be mentioned, which serves to attach and fix at least one horizontal strapping band around at least two articles to be joined together, such as PET containers, to produce a package according to one of the embodiments described above. The container is in this case held together with a horizontally clamped around an outer side of the article or PET container closed strapping, which is formed by at least one band made of plastic or a composite material which at their ends in each case overlapping and glued together to form a one-piece or multi-part contact point and / or welded. The strapping has formed at or away from the contact pad at least one loop made by the application head during the application of the strapping. As a result of a plurality of punches and pulling devices coupled together in their movement sequences, basically any desired variant of the relief loops can be produced and introduced into the strapping. The fixation of the discharge loop is in this case usually by brief heating with simultaneous application of a defined contact pressure, whereby a welding of the tape at the contact point as well as to the desired fixations for the preparation of the discharge loop and the compensator takes place. For example, the application head may have three or more holding and / or lifting sections arranged side by side for fixing, welding and / or gluing the band ends, for forming the loops and / or relief straps or tear-open straps. The discharge loop is hereby produced by means of a controllable rocker arm or the like, whereby at the same time at least one adjacent band section is fixed on one side, while the other band section on the other side can slide through the application head. After tensioning the band, welding may then be performed, preferably with another component of the application head, typically with a heating finger, which heats the band while simultaneously pressing, thereby producing the desired weld joint.

Finally, the present invention also relates to a method for producing a container according to one of the embodiments described above. The process initially sees the wrapping of the strapping band into a guide frame placed around the containers or articles to be fixed and wrapped around. By means of the application head, either the tape is first clamped in one place and then the relief tab formed, optionally in reverse order (i.e., first clamping and then forming the tab). The tape is then withdrawn and tensioned a defined distance, after which it is clamped to the other side of the previously formed release tab. Finally, the tape is welded in place and released from the application head by removing it from the tape. Further variants of the method can be found in the embodiments and variants of container maturation which have already been described above and also described below. In addition, reference should be made in this connection to the description of the figures, which explains an embodiment of the application head and of the method according to the invention for applying the strapping band with a relief flap placed therein.

In the following, some further aspects and features of the container according to the invention will be explained with reference to possible variants and embodiments. Thus, the container can, for example, comprise at least two, preferably four, possibly also five, six, seven or more interconnected PET containers which are tensioned by means of the above-mentioned, horizontally stretched around an outer side of the PET container, band or strip-like Strapping are held together. These strappings are preferably placed around the PET containers during an uninterrupted conveying process and then fixed. During the application of the strapping, the PET containers are normally not stopped or delayed because the strapping can be applied around them in a continuous process during the uninterrupted delivery of the PET containers. A voltage applied to the outer sides of the PET container inside the strapping may optionally be firmly fixed to a contact point with one of the PET containers, but this is not absolutely necessary. Thus, the strapping can be fixed to the contact point in particular by means of a material connection in the form of at least one welded joint. By a Such a connection, the PET container can not be moved in the container, so that a defined packing arrangement is maintained. Optionally, however, this fixation can also be omitted, so that a displacement of the container in the manner described above, in particular after the application of a loop-like carrying handle o. The like. Is still possible. It is also useful to make the fixation after the determination of the final arrangement of the container in the container and after the application and proper placement of the handle, so that the selected arrangement is reliably maintained.

For example, the optional weld joint may be made by an ultrasonic weld joint or a laser weld joint or other suitable bonding technique. In the case of thermoplastics or thermoplastics, the material must be melted or at least softened by supplying heat at the desired welding point, in order to allow a material connection at the contact point to be welded. Thus, in ultrasonic welding, the plastics are connected by means of mechanical vibrations. The main feature of this method is that the heat required for welding between the components is created by molecular and boundary surface friction in the components.

The strapping is formed by at least one flat band stretched around the outsides of the PET containers and then biased at their ends. With this tensioned, strip or band-shaped strapping, the PET containers are combined into a container and held so that they can be safely transported. Of course, two or more parallel bands can form the strapping. The strapping is thus produced by one, two or more similar or different bands of plastic or a composite material, wherein the bands are glued together at their ends overlapping or bumping together, welded, clamped, knotted or otherwise connected. An advantageous embodiment may be formed by a welding of the overlapping ends of the strapping. In addition, it is conceivable that the ends are welded by means of a welding point to at least one PET container of the container, so that the PET containers are secured in their formation during transport. The containers of the container Thus, they can not be moved into different formations, such as from a longitudinal formation in a diagonal formation.

The PET containers which are held together to form a container optionally have annular recesses extending in each case and / or recesses extending in the horizontal direction for receiving and / or fixing the strapping. With such a recess, an additional fixation of the strapping can be formed, since the strapping applied are thus fixed in their horizontal position. Furthermore, the PET containers held together to form a container each have a container neck below an upper-side opening, on which a further strapping for fixing the PET containers can be attached. Each of these mentioned Umreifungsvarianten may optionally be additionally provided with at least one welding point on at least one PET container of the container or be provided during the manufacture of the container, so that the mutual displacement of the container against each other can be prevented.

Particularly advantageously, a recyclable material can be used as strapping and / or as a carrying handle, which, for example, can consist of a single-grade thermoplastic. Possibly. It is also possible to use a biodegradable material, optionally also as a composite material with thermoplastic material and / or with a fiber reinforcement. As further advantages of the invention over known variants of the prior art u.a. to call that the strapping as well as the carrying handles are cheaper to produce than a foil and also to be processed. There is no shrink tunnel required, whereby a high energy saving and a reduction of investment costs are possible.

As a suitable material for strapping has, for example, a PP or PET plastic has been found, which optionally provide an additional fiber reinforcement for the desired strength and stability when using a PP plastic, especially when using a very thin strip of typically approx 0.65 mm thickness at approx. 8 mm width. The use of PET plastic may possibly be cheaper, since this material has a favorable, ie a low setting behavior and loses only very little bias, since the plastic deformation is very low. When using PET, the strip can, for example, a thickness of about 0.3 ... 0.5 mm with a typical width of about 8 ... 10 mm. The strength of this band can be sufficient even when using only one strapping.

The aspect of the invention which is to be emphasized as advantageous is the improved strapping, which has a so-called compensator or a so-called relief loop for reducing the preload when the strapping is removed from the containers. This compensator or this relief loop can be formed, for example, in that the connection points of the two overlapping ends of the strapping are designed so that the strapping between two spaced connection points, which may be formed in particular by welding, not flush, but that one side is slightly too long. In this way, a kind of loop is formed in which the two superimposed portions of the strapping stand out slightly from each other. If the strapping is removed by pulling off a protruding end, the weld is first broken at this protruding end. As a result, initially relaxed under high bias strapping relaxes by a small amount, which is provided by the compensator available. Only then is the now loosened strapping completely opened and removed by breaking the second weld. Since the strapping bands are usually applied under relatively high bias, their removal is often associated with a sudden relaxation that is perceived as uncomfortable for many users, especially as the strapping band may possibly also whip-like fall off from the container by its sudden relaxation. Although the above-mentioned alternative embodiments (second and third variant) are designed differently, but ultimately lead to the same desired effect of ease and ease of handling and solvability of the strapping, without the user having to take any tools or tools to hand.

It should be emphasized at this point that the equipment of the strap or the strapping with such a compensator is not mandatory, but at least not in each strapping in the presence of several superposed bands. However, these compensators can be very beneficial to the easier handling of the container when removing the Affect strapping. The compensator constitutes a particular aspect of strapping, which in this way improves its handling without restricting its function. Since a protruding end of the band forms a peel-off grip in the compensator, it can also be advantageous if at least the contact point facing the protruding end has a structured bonding and / or welding point for influencing and / or facilitating a detachment process. Thus, the welding or bonding at this contact point, for example. Have a suitable structuring, interruptions and / or a suitable shape, which helps to produce a relatively low and largely uniform peel force for the user. Thus, for example, the contact point may have a strip-like, parabolic adhesive bond and / or welding, which is separated during detachment from its rounded tip and separated along the two parabolic edges.

In the following, embodiments of the invention and their advantages with reference to the accompanying figures will be explained in more detail. The proportions of the individual elements to one another in the figures do not always correspond to the actual size ratios, since some shapes are simplified and other shapes are shown enlarged in relation to other elements for better illustration.

The following detailed descriptions of possible embodiments of the invention will serve as non-limiting examples and with reference to the accompanying drawings. The same components in principle have the same reference numerals and will not be explained several times.

In the case described below or the sales unit described below are several articles using the example of Beverage containers summarized. The containers are formed by strapping the container by means of flexible bands of plastic or other materials, in particular PP or PET. Basically, all conceivable geometrical arrangements of the container are possible with the indicated connection type "container strapping": Linear matrix arrangement in an nx m arrangement of rows and columns for round or rectangular, square or other containers and, for example, ball packs in 30 ° or 60 ° Angle for round containers in any number. The arrangement of the container or container is dependent on the supply of the container and its division by the so-called. Container one-piece.

The Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of such a container 10. In the container arrangement, the containers 12 are arranged side by side in a so-called. Longitudinal formation. The container 10 is composed in the present example of six interconnected PET containers 12, which are held together with a horizontal around an outer side 16 of the PET container 12 stretched, band or strip-like strapping 18. The strapping 18 is stretched around the container 12 and fixed with its overlapping free ends with application of a bias voltage. This connection is referred to in the present context generally as a contact point 22. The strapping 18 is fixed to the contact point 22 by means of a cohesive connection, for example in the form of at least one welded connection or an adhesive connection. Optionally, in addition, a loop-like carrying handle 24 may be provided which spans the tops of the container 10 in an oblique or diagonal direction. In the illustrated embodiment, the strapping 18 is stretched in an upper region around the container 12 and is located in a so-called. Recessed recess 13, through which the container 12 are waisted.

A first variant of the strapping 18 according to the invention is in the FIGS. 2a and 2 B and is partly also on the basis of Fig. 1 recognizable. The in the Fig. 2 shown variant provides a strapping 18, which has a discharge loop 30 or a so-called. Compensator for reducing the bias in removing the strapping 18 and the strapping 20 of the containers 12 in the strapping. This relief loop 30 or relief tab 36 or compensator is formed by the fact that the contact point 22 has a total of two connection points 32 and 34, each of which abutting and connect overlapping tape ends together, in particular welding. These two connection points 32 and 34 of the two overlapping ends of the strap 20 are designed such that the strapping 20 between the two spaced connection points 32 and 34, which may be formed in particular by welding, not flush, but that one side is slightly too long , In this way, a kind of tab 36 is formed, in which the two superimposed portions of the strapping 18 slightly stand out from each other. If the strapping 18 or the strapping band 20 is released by pulling off a protruding end 40, the first weld 32 is first broken at this protruding end 40. As a result, initially relaxed under high bias strapping 20 by a small amount, which is provided by the compensator available. Only then is the now loosened strapping 18 completely opened and removed by breaking up the second weld 34. Since the strapping 20 are normally applied under relatively high bias, their removal is often associated with a sudden relaxation, which is perceived by many users as uncomfortable, especially since the strap 20 may possibly also break off from the container 10 by his sudden relaxation whip-like. This is due to the first variant of the discharge loop 30 (compensator) accordingly Fig. 2 reliably prevented.

The two mentioned connection points 32 and 34 are preferably welds, wherein the first connection point 32 or weld can be loosened and separated preferably with less tensile force than the second connection point 34. In this way, the welding of the contact point 22 can be gradually separated, wherein the first Contact area in the area of the first connection point 32 (on the left in the picture of the FIGS. 2a and 2 B ) is released, whereby the tab 36 is available as a band reservoir for reducing the bias voltage available. Only then, the second connection point 34 is replaced by another train on the pull tab 40, whereby the contact point 22 is completely separated.

The schematic representation of Fig. 3 shows a second variant of the discharge loop 30 in the strapping 20, in which a right end of the band 20 at the contact point 22 initially turned outward and thereby the Relief loop 30 and the more or less large tab 36 is formed. This folded section is initially held only in this arrangement, but not yet connected, glued or welded. The folded portion 42 could at best be fixed with an auxiliary or auxiliary welding, which should absorb only small forces and could be easily solved. On the folded end of the tape 42, the other, untransformed end of the tape 46 is placed, the supernatant, projecting beyond the contact point 22 end 40 must be so long that the production of two connection or welds 43 and 44 is possible. The first connection point 43 is in the illustrated embodiment according to Fig. 3 between the back of the folded portion or the folded band end 42 and the untransformed band end 46, at a sufficient distance from the loop 30, so that a sufficiently large discharge flap 36 is formed. The second joint 44 is spaced from the first joint 43 and made at least a short distance from the folded band end 42 between the other, untransformed band end 46 and the right end of the strapping band 20, as shown in the detail view of FIG Fig. 3 is clarified. The section of the band 20 projecting beyond the second connection point 44 forms the pull tab or the peel-off handle 40, which is required for manual release of the strapping band 20.

The two mentioned connection points 43 and 44 are preferably welds, wherein the second connection point 44 or weld can be loosened and separated with less tension than the first connection point 43. In this way, the welding of the contact point 22 can be gradually separated, wherein first the contact region in the region of the fourth connection point 44 (on the right in the image) is detached, whereby the tab 36 is available as a band reservoir for reducing the bias voltage available. Only then is the first connection point 43 in the region of the folded-over band end 42 detached by a further pull on the pull tab 40, as a result of which the contact point 22 is completely separated.

The two views of Fig. 4a and 4b show a third variant of the strapping 18. Here, the overlapping band ends are not used to at the first contact point 22 (in the picture of the FIGS. 4a and 4b above) to form the relief loop 30, but this is by double turnover and superimposing the resulting loops 50 and 52 formed, which in the FIGS. 4a and 4b is shown at the bottom of the strap 20. The common welding 54 located at this second contact point 23, which comprises three mutually superimposed band sections and connects them together, fixes the loops 50 and 52 formed thereby. The outer loop 52 simultaneously forms the pull tab 40 for releasing the strapping band 20, wherein under the occurring tensile load the weld 54 is partially released at the second contact point by releasing the inner loop 50, thereby relieving the bias of the strap 20. The tape 20 can then be solved easily then, either by separating the first contact point 22 or by lifting as a whole from the container 10th

Not shown here is an application head for the production of the relief strap when connecting the strap ends of the strapping. Such an application head may, for example, have one or more clamping straps for fixing the strap during the formation of the strap by lifting a rocker arm. The welding of the strip to produce the mechanically loadable contact point can, for example, by swiveling in a heating mandrel o. The like. Take place. Furthermore, cam wheels may be provided for actuating the movable punches and the pivoting lever. On the one hand, the application head can be used to produce the contact point 22 and thus the application of the pretensioning of the strapping 18 as well as the production of the relief loop. In principle, any desired variant of the relief loops can be produced and introduced into the strapping by a plurality of stamps and pulling devices or the rocker arm which are coupled with one another in their movement sequences. The fixation of the discharge loop can be done by means of the mentioned heating mandrel by brief heating with simultaneous application of a defined contact pressure. The tape is thus welded to the contact point, wherein at the same time the desired fixations for the preparation of the discharge loop or the compensator done. For example, the application head may have three or more holding and / or lifting sections arranged side by side for fixing, welding and / or gluing the band ends, for forming the loops and / or relief straps or tear-open straps.

Since a protruding end 40 of the strapping band 20 forms a peel-off grip in the compensator, it can also be advantageous if at least the contact point facing the protruding end 40 has a structured bonding and / or welding point (not illustrated here) for influencing and / or facilitating a contact point Has a detachment process. Other contours are conceivable and useful, for example, a meandering course or a plurality of locally limited and each spaced adhesive dots and / or welds.
