Abstract

The present invention relates to a television (1) wherein the electronic circuit card (6) is mounted to the button assembly (5) and the button assembly (5) to its front frame (4) without using any additional connection elements and thus, the assembly time of which is shortened and the thickness of which is reduced.

Description

Description
TELEVISION WITH MOUNTED BUTTON ASSEMBLY
[0001] The present invention relates to a television wherein the electronic circuit card is mounted to the button assembly.
[0002] Televisions are controlled by means of both the button assembly on the device and the remote control. Switches activated by the button assembly, receiver receiving the remote control signals and sometimes light emitting diode (LID) indicating the operation state of the television are situated on an electronic circuit card. The button assembly and the electronic circuit card are assembled into the television, preferably to the front frame such that they will contact each other. The state of the art button assembly structures and the additional elements used during the assembly thereof with the electronic circuit card cause the assembly time to be prolonged.
[0003] In the state of the art International Patent Application No WO2009/087518, structures providing the button assembly and the electronic circuit card to be assembled to the front frame of the television without screws are explained.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a television wherein the assembly of the electronic circuit card and the button assembly to the front frame is facilitated.
[0005] In the television realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, the button assembly comprises a platform and at least one button which rises from one edge of the platform and which is connected to the platform in a flexible manner. The touch surface of the button extends towards the outside of the platform and the rear surface towards the platform. At least two supporting walls that extend vertically to the edge, to which the buttons are connected, that rise from the platform in the rising direction of the buttons and that are positioned such that a button will remain between them are situated on the platform. Furthermore, a traverse which joins the supporting walls from above like a bridge but does not entirely cover the top of the supporting walls is situated on the button assembly. At least one receiving section, at both sides of which supporting walls and under which the platform is situated and the top side of which is partially open, is situated under the traverse, behind the button. The receiving section top which is partially open provides the switch on the electronic circuit card to enter therein.
[0006] At least one switch is mounted to one side of the electronic circuit card, which is mounted to the button assembly, by means of the legs of the switch such that a gap will remain between the electronic circuit card and itself.
[0007] While the electronic circuit card is mounted to the button assembly, the switch is seated to the receiving section upper side, the top of which is partially open. The contact surface of the switch faces the button. At this stage, the contact surface of the switch is seated on the button and the back of the switch bears against the traverse. When a force is applied to the electronic circuit card in the direction of the button assembly, the button stretches towards the outside of the button assembly and the switch settles into the receiving section. At this stage, the contact surface of the switch bears against the button and the back of the switch bears against the traverse. Thus, the switches and hence the electronic circuit card are prevented from sliding. When the switch settles in the receiving section, the electronic circuit card covers the top of the button assembly by being seated on the supporting walls and the traverse.
[0008] In an embodiment of the present invention, the button assembly comprises at least one protrusion that extends from the traverse towards the button. In this embodiment, the switch is seated to the receiving section upper side, the top of which is partially open, such that the protrusion will enter into the gap between the electronic circuit card and the switch. When the switch is completely seated in the receiving section, the protrusion remains between the electronic circuit card and the switch, and therefore prevents the electronic circuit card from moving upwards and downwards.
[0009] In an embodiment of the present invention, in order to prevent the
electronic circuit card from sliding towards the buttons, at least one extension, which extends from the supporting wall upper portion, that is in alignment with the button, in the direction of the extension of the supporting wall, is situated on the button assembly. In this embodiment, the electronic circuit card bears against the extensions when mounted to the button assembly. Thus, the electronic circuit card does not slide towards the buttons. Since the switch bears against the traverse, the electronic circuit card does not slide in the opposite direction of the buttons, either.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, in order that the button assembly can be mounted under the retainers, at least one latch extends from the platform edge, to which the buttons are connected, towards the outside.
[001 1] The button assembly is mounted to the front frame. The front frame
comprises a front wall, the center of which is open, and at least one side wall which rises from the edge of this front wall. At least one button opening is situated on the side wall in order that the buttons can protrude out of the front frame. At least one retainer shaped as an upside-down "L" which has borne against the side wall is located on the front frame. At least one protrusion formed stopper is located on the inner side of the front wall. The platform of the button assembly is first fastened to the retainers such that the buttons will pass through the button openings. Then, the platform is seated onto the inner side of the front wall and bears against the stopper. Thus, the button assembly that is stuck between the retainers and the stoppers cannot move on the front wall. As a result of the buttons passing through the button openings, the button assembly cannot move in the direction vertical to the front frame plane.

assembly (5), it is seated onto the button assembly (5) such that the contact surface (Y3) of the switch (7) will face the rear surface (Y1 ) of the button (1 1) and the switch (7) will enter the receiving section (14) through its upper side wherein the traverse (13) is situated. At this stage, the switch (7) contact surface (Y3) stands on the rear surface (Y1 ) of the button (1 1) such that an angle will be formed between the electronic circuit card (6) and the button assembly (5), and the switch (7) bears against the traverse (13). By means of the force applied to the electronic circuit card (6) in the direction of the button assembly (5), the button (1 1 ) stretches to the outside of the platform (10) and the switch (7) settles into the receiving section (14) such that it will remain between the button (1 1 ) and the traverse (13). When the switch (7) settles in the receiving section (14), the electronic circuit card (6) is seated onto the supporting walls (12) and the traverse (13). By means of the switch (7) settling in the receiving section (14), the volume occupied by the electronic circuit card (6) and the button assembly (5) is decreased. Furthermore, by means of the switch (7) remaining between the button (1 1 ) and the traverse (13) when settled in the receiving section (14), the electronic circuit card (6) is prevented from moving in the horizontal axis (x).
[0032] The user desiring to activate a function in the television (1 ) applies a force (F2) onto the touch surface (Y2) of the button (1 1 ). This force (F2) causes the button (1 1 ) to stretch towards the inside of the button assembly (5). Thus, the rear surface (Y1 ) of the button (1 1 ) applies a force (F1) to the contact surface (Y3) of the switch (7) and the switch (7) is brought to the off position. When the force (F2) applied by the user is removed, the button (1 1) returns to its initial position by stretching in the opposite direction and the force (F1 ) applied to the contact surface (Y3) of the switch (7) is removed. Thus, the switch (7) is brought to the on position. Since the button assembly (5) is prevented from moving in the horizontal and vertical axes, the force applied by the user does not cause the button assembly (5) to protrude out of the front frame (4).

remains between the electronic circuit card (6), the legs (9) and the switch (7) base (T) when the switch (7) is fastened on the electronic circuit card
(6) such that its base (T) will face the electronic circuit card (6).
Furthermore, the button assembly (5) comprises at least one protrusion (15) which is in alignment with the button (1 1 ) and extends towards the button (1 1) from the traverse (13) surface facing the button (1 1), and which is seated into the gap (8) when the electronic circuit card (6) is mounted to the button assembly (5). In this embodiment, while the electronic circuit card (6) is being mounted to the button assembly (5), the gap (8) is mounted to the protrusion (15) such that the contact surface (Y3) of the switch (7) will face the rear surface (Y1 ) of the button (1 1) and the switch
(7) will enter the receiving section (14) through its upper side wherein the traverse (13) is situated. When the switch (7) settles in the receiving section (14), the protrusion (15) remains between the electronic circuit card (6) and the switch (7). Thus, the electronic circuit card (6) is prevented from moving in the vertical axis (y).
[0034] In another embodiment of the present invention, the button assembly (5) comprises at least one extension (16) which rises at the portion, that is close to the button (1 1 ), of supporting wall (12) upper surface, that is at the side of the traverse (13), in the rising direction of the supporting wall (12) and against which the electronic circuit card (6) bears when the switch (7) settles in the receiving section (14). When the switch (7) settles in the receiving section (14), by means of the electronic circuit card (6) bearing against the extension (16) and the switch (7) bearing against the traverse (13), the distance (L) between the rear surface (Y1 ) of the button (1 1 ) and the contact surface (Y3) of the switch (7) is provided to remain fixed. Thus, the button (1 1 ) is prevented from holding the switch (7) in the off position by contacting the switch (7) contact surface (Y3) even when the button (1 1 ) is not pressed, or from not contacting the switch (7) contact surface (Y3) even when the button (1 1 ) is pressed as a result of a variable distance (L).
[0035] In another embodiment of the present invention, the button assembly (5) comprises at least one latch (17) which extends from a platform (10) corner that is in alignment with the button (1 1) to the outside of the platform (10) in the direction of the edge whereon the button (1 1 ) is situated, and which provides the platform (10) to be fastened to the retainer (20).
[0036] By means of the structures in this invention which provide the electronic circuit card (6) to be mounted to the button assembly (5) and the button assembly (5) to the front frame (4), using additional connection elements is not needed and the volume occupied by the button assembly (5) and the electronic circuit card (6) is decreased, and the pieces are prevented from being dismounted from each other due to the force applied by the user. Thus, material costs of television (1) manufacturers are reduced, their assembly times are shortened and their production costs decrease.

embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.

Claims
1. A television (1 ) comprising
- a display panel (2) wherein image is generated,
- a back cover (3) which covers the back of the display panel (2),
- a front frame (4) which is mounted to the back cover (3) such that the display panel (2) will remain between itself and the back cover (3),
- a button assembly (5) that has a rectangular-shaped platform (10) and at least one button (1 1 ) which rises from one edge of the platform (10) and which can stretch from the point it is connected to the platform (10), and the rear surface (Y1) of which extends towards the platform (10), and that is mounted to the inside of the front frame (4),
- an electronic circuit card (6) which is mounted to the button assembly (5) and
- at least one switch (7) which has at least two legs (9) that provide it to be fastened onto the electronic circuit card (6) and that are located on its base (T), characterized by the button assembly (5) that has
- at least two supporting walls (12) which extend from the platform (10) in parallel to each other in the rising direction of the button (1 1 ) and vertically to the edge whereon the button (1 1 ) is situated,
- a traverse (13) which joins the supporting walls (12) from above by partially covering the top of the supporting walls (12), and against which the switch (7) bears and on which the electronic circuit card (6) is seated when the electronic circuit card (6) is mounted to the button assembly (5), and
- at least one receiving section (14), under which the platform (10), at both sides of which the supporting walls (12) and on top of which the traverse (13) are situated, and which is situated at the button (1 1 ) rear side facing the inside of the button assembly (5), and wherein the switch (7) enters such that it will remain between the button (1 1 ) and the traverse (13) when the electronic circuit card (6) is mounted to the button assembly (5)
2. A television (1 ) as in Claim 1 , characterized by at least one gap (8) which
remains between the electronic circuit card (6), the legs (9) and the switch (7) base (T) when the switch (7) is fastened on the electronic circuit card (6) such that its base (T) will face the electronic circuit card (6), and by the button assembly (5) that has at least one protrusion (15) which is in alignment with the button (1 1 ) and extends towards the button (1 1 ) from the traverse (13) surface facing the button (1 1 ), and which is seated into the gap (8) when the electronic circuit card (6) is mounted to the button assembly (5).

A television (1 ) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized by the button assembly (5) that has at least one extension (16) which rises at the portion, that is close to the button (1 1 ), of supporting wall (12) upper surface, that is at the side of the traverse (13), in the rising direction of the supporting wall (12) and against which the electronic circuit card (6) bears when the switch (7) settles in the receiving section (14).

A television (1 ) as in Claim 1 , characterized by the front frame (4) that has a front wall (18) which is shaped as a rectangle with an open center and which provides the display panel (2) to be seen through the opening (AC) at its center, and on one side of which the platform (10) is seated, at least one side wall (19) which rises from the edge of the front wall (18) and which allows the button (1 1 ) to protrude out by passing through the button opening (TA) thereon, and at least one retainer (20) which is shaped as an upside-down "L" on the front wall (18) inner side at the side of the side wall (19) and which has borne against the side wall (19) whereon the button opening (TA) is situated, and which provides the platform (10) to be fastened.

A television (1 ) as in Claim 4, characterized by the button assembly (5) that has at least one latch (17) which extends from a platform (10) corner that is in alignment with the button (1 1) to the outside of the platform (10) in the direction of the edge whereon the button (1 1 ) is situated, and which provides the platform (10) to be fastened to the retainer (20).
6. A television (1 ) as in Claim 4, characterized by the front frame (4) that has at least one stopper (21) which is situated on the front wall (18) inner side at the side of the side wall (19) and against which the platform (10) fastened by the retainer (20) bears.
