Description
A REFRIGERATOR
[0001] The present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising a door on which electrically operated elements are disposed.
[0002] The doors used in refrigerators are generally manufactured by the method of joining two pieces, an inner liner situated on the inner side of the door and produced from plastic material and an outer liner situated on the outer side of the door and produced from metal sheet. Heat insulating material is injected between the inner liner and the outer liner in order to provide heat insulation. The cables supplying electricity to the electrical components like the displayer, the control panel disposed on the outer liner are passed in a bundle form through the housing of the hinge whereby the door is attached to the body. The necessity for extending cables to the inner liner from the cable bundle arises if there are any electrical components mounted on the inner liner. For example, in refrigerators named French style, a heater is mounted on the mullion in order to prevent condensation on the mullion which covers air-tightly the gap remaining between the side-by-side doors when the doors are closed and electricity has to be supplied to this heater.
[0003] During the production of the door, the inner liner is placed on a mould and the insulation material, polyurethane etc. is poured over the inner surface of the inner liner. The outer liner is closed on the inner liner with
polyurethane poured over its inner surface which is supported on the device called the drum which rotates to provide mass production of the door. During the joining process of the inner liner and outer liner, problems may occur such as the cable supplying electricity to the inner liner getting stuck or protruding between the inner liner and the outer liner. Since the cable extending by protruding to areas open to access of the user is risky in terms of user safety thereby the doors having problems in
manufacturing are discarded as scrap and this plays a role in increasing manufacturing costs.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a refrigerator
comprising a door wherein electricity is supplied safely from the outer liner 2/8 ARC2009P00052 to the inner liner.
[0005] The refrigerator realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is explicated in the claims.
[0006] The refrigerator of the present invention comprises at least one door
produced by joining an inner liner and an outer liner wherein heat insulating material is injected therebetween. During the production of the door, while joining the inner liner with the outer liner by covering on one another, a connection member is used in order to prevent the branch wire from getting stuck between the inner liner and the outer liner which is extended from the cable bundle on the outer liner for supplying electricity to the inner liner. One end of the connection member is attached to the branch wire extending between the inner liner and outer liner and the other end to the surface of the inner liner which will contact polyurethane. The connection member is in the stretched position when the inner liner and the outer liner are in detached position from each other. The connection member loosens by partially losing its tightness in the position the outer liner is joined with the inner liner by covering thereon and remains between the inner liner and the outer liner. The connection member both holds the branch wire stretched that is extended to the inner liner and also provides the branch wire to move in the movement direction of the outer liner during the covering of the outer liner on the inner liner. Consequently, the branch wire extended to the inner liner is prevented from getting stuck between the inner liner and the outer liner.
[0007] In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member is
produced from an elastic material. The connection member is, for example, an elastic band. Thus, the problem of the cable extended to the inner liner getting stuck between the inner liner and the outer liner is solved by an inexpensive and simple way.
[0008] In another embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator comprises a joiner providing the connection member to be attached to the inner liner. The joiner serves as an intermediary element that provides the connection between the inner liner and the connection member. By means of the joiner, attaching the connection member to the inner liner is facilitated. 3/8 ARC2009P00052
[0009] In another embodiment of the present invention, the joiner is produced from plastic and is attached to the inner liner by adhesion. Thus, the assembly of the connection member to the inner liner is provided by an inexpensive and simple way.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, the joiner has a hook form through which the connection member is passed to be fastened thereto. By this means, attaching the connection member on the joiner is facilitated.
[0011] In another embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator comprises a mullion attached to the inner liner which covers air-tightly the gap between the doors coming side by side when closed. The branch wire extended to the inner liner provides to supply electricity to the heater which prevents condensation on the mullion.
[0012] By means of the present invention, electricity is supplied to the electrical components situated on both the outer liner and the inner liner. Moreover, the branch wire extended from the cable bundle on the outer liner to the inner liner for supplying electricity to the electrical components disposed on the inner liner is prevented from getting stuck between the inner liner and the outer liner during the production of the door.
[0013] A refrigerator realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached claims, where:
[0014] Figure 1 - is the front view of a refrigerator.
[0015] Figure 2 - is the perspective view of the device used during the production of a door.
[0016] Figure 3 - is the perspective view of detail A in Figure 2.
[0017] Figure 4 - is the perspective view of a door when the mullion is mounted thereon.
[0018] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Refrigerator
2. Body
3. Mullion
4. Outer liner
5. Inner liner 4/8 ARC2009P00052
6. Door
7. Branch wire
8. Cable bundle
9. Connection member
10. Joiner
[0019] The refrigerator (1) of the present invention comprises a body (2), at least one door (6) that covers the open face of the body (2), having an outer liner (4) of metal sheet material and an inner liner (5) of plastic material, wherein heat insulating material is injected between the inner liner (5) and the outer liner (4) and a cable bundle (8) disposed on the outer liner (4), providing to supply electricity to the electrical components on the outer liner (4) by being connected thereto.
[0020] The refrigerator (1) further comprises at least one branch wire (7),
