Description
A REFRIGERATOR
[0001] The present invention relates to a refrigerator wherein the door opening direction can be changed.
[0002] In electronic controlled single-, double- or multiple-door refrigerators, on the door of which control panel is situated, the power cable conning from the inside of the cabinet body reaches the control panel by passing through the upper hinge. In such refrigerators, since the power cable extends in the cabinet and enters into the door by passing through the hinge, changing the direction of the door is not possible.
[0003] In the state of the art United States of America Patent Application No US20050284159, two power wires which extend from the control component to the two side edges of the refrigerating compartment, and a wire assembly which extends from the control panel on the door and which is extended to the right or left according to the mounting direction of the door onto the refrigerating compartment are explained.
[0004] In the state of the art European Patent No EP1563234, two power cables extending from the control card to the two edges of the cabinet and two door power cables extending from the display panel to the two edges of the door are explained.
[0005] In both embodiments, too many cables are used and the labour increases, too.
[0006] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a refrigerator wherein the opening direction of the door, whereon the control panel is situated, can be easily changed.
[0007] The refrigerator realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a power cable, one end of which is connected to the control card and the other end extends to the right or left edge of the upper frame, according to the edge from where the door will be mounted onto the cabinet, a patch cable which extends between the right and left edges of the door along the upper edge of the door, and a function cable, one end of which is connected to the control panel and the other end is bonded to one end of
PatXML 2/11 BB1727-7.787
the patch cable or directly to the power cable, according to the edge from where the door will be mounted onto the cabinet.
[0008] Thus, the direction of the door is enabled to be changed by using only one power cable extending from the control card and only one function cable extending from the control panel. In this embodiment, making any change in the electrical connection of the control panel on the door is not required.
[0009] When the function cable is connected to one end of the patch cable, the power cable is connected to its other end. When the function cable is directly bonded to the power cable, both ends of the patch cable remain free.
[0010] In an embodiment of the present invention, when the door that comprises a function cable extending to its right edge is mounted to the right edge of the cabinet, the function cable is connected directly to the power cable that is extended to the right edge of the upper frame. In this embodiment, both ends of the patch cable are free. In another version of this embodiment, when the door that comprises a function cable extending to its right edge is mounted to the left edge of the cabinet, the power cable is extended to the left edge of the upper frame and is connected to the end of the patch cable that is situated at the left edge of the door. The function cable is connected to the end of the patch cable that extends to the right edge of the door and thus, the electrical connection between the control card and the control panel is provided.
[0011] In another embodiment of the present invention, when the door that comprises a function cable extending to its left edge is mounted to the right edge of the cabinet, the power cable is extended to the upper right edge of the cabinet and is connected to the end of the patch cable that is situated at the right edge of the door. In this situation, the connection between the control card and the control panel is provided by the function cable being connected to the end of the patch cable that extends to the left edge of the door. In the other version of this embodiment, when the door that comprises a function cable extending to its left edge is mounted to the left edge of the cabinet, the power cable that is extended to the upper left edge of the cabinet is directly connected to the function cable.
