Abstract

The Invention is related to a functional full automatic brake gap adjuster that is usually fastened to the edge of S-camshaft in drum brake systems of heavy vehicles and connected to the push rod of a brake cylinder. When brake pedal is pressed, the brake cylinder's push rod angularly rotates the gap adjuster -when pressurised air is entering into the brake cylinder. With this motion, the s-camshaft rotates cams by turning, so that cams open the brake shoes and provides brake linings to press again

AUTOMATIC SLACK ADJUSTER FOR A BRAKE LEVER
TECHNICAL AREA Invention; is related to functional full automatic brake gap adjuster that is usually fastened to the edge of S-camshaft in drum brake systems of heavy vehicles and connected to the push rod of air bellows.
PREVIOUS TECHNIQUE Manual brake adjusters from known brake technologies only acts as connecting part fixed to brake cylinder and to s-camshaft, but as a result of abrasion according to brake linings type used on vehicle, gap between brake drum and brake lining increases and pusher rod stroke of brake cylinder becomes insufficient as to abrasion condition of lining. Therefore, it's not put on safe brake. Brake adjustments of vehicle is normalized by getting under the vehicle once a week in average due to eexcessive gap caused by abrasion of lining. This is an additional cost due to extra time loss and service cost
As a result of rapid advancement of technology and as time's gaining importance, automatic brake adjusters are produced due to equipping vehicles with some specifications. Automatic brake adjusters both act as manual brake adjusters and automatically keep constant the excessive gap caused by abrasion of lining, and until lining finishes, brake cylinder shaft's stroke remains in adjusted distance, so it's put on safe brake. With automatic brake adjuster, extra time loss and service cost will be removed.
With the brake mechanism applied by HALDEX AB in 25.04.1994 and mentioned in patent specification no: EP0598290 and with production of auomatic brake adjuster that can operate180 °, a new period started in brake adjusters. As a result of examinations performed by our specialists, disadvantages taking place in said brake adjusters have been determined and solutions have been produced. Disadvantages determined are as following:
• Because of excessiveness of product parts and due to difficulty in production and assembling, it causes time loss.
• Because working parts used in brake adjusters are made of powder metal, a disadvantage occurs in performance point of brake adjuster and in materials' resistance.
• In existing system, 2.5 mm bake-up washer and winding compression spring is used. As a result of decline of winding compression spring used, brake and contortion of back-up washer, it causes 18 Nm. decline of torque which is required to be continuous in brake adjuster.
BRIEF EXPLANATION OF INVENTION

It's functional full automatic brake gap adjuster and characterized by body(1), worm reel (2), worm shaft (3), Z 18xM 1.25-Z1 3 Helix worm gear (4), M 38 Short Plug (5), Front roller bearing (6), Z 90 torsion gear(7), torsion spring (8), Z 16xZ1 3 Helix worm gear (9), Bearing Bush(10), steel ball (11), brake block (12), disc spring (13), M 38 long plug (14), rivet (15), Shaft O-ring (16), Reel O-ring (17), Screw (18), Grease fitting (19), Cover Plate (20), Control Lever (21) and Z 41 Driving " Gear(22) parts.

Thing mentioned in Request 1 is a functional full automatic brake gap adjuster and characterized as following; during brake, it transmits motion coming to control lever (21) which is fixed on vehicle being pushed by bellows to the Z 18xM 1.25-Z1 3 helix worm gear (4) and it transmits motion to the Z 16xZ1 3 Helix worm gear (9) by rotating co-axially.
