Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a flat knitting machine and in particular to a knitted fabric transporting device thereof for moving a knitted fabric from a topping needle of a topping device to a magazine needle when removing the knitted fabric from the knitting needles of a needle bed and providing the same to a magazine in which the magazine needles are arranged in rows using the topping device.
  • a knitting fabric is knitted by moving the knitting needles into a needle bed gap from the needle beds opposing each other with a needle bed gap in between, and hooking a knitting yarn fed from the upper side of the needle bed gap to the hook of the knitting needle and drawing in the knitting yarn to the needle bed.
  • the knitting yarn is fed to the needle bed gap from a yarn feeder of a yarn feeding member that reciprocates in a longitudinal direction of the needle bed at the upper side of the needle bed gap.
  • the topping device is a device including a shaft in which the topping needles corresponded one to one with the knitting needles of the needle bed are arranged in rows, and an arm for supporting and moving the shaft, where the knitted fabric is automatically removed from the knitting needles of the needle bed and provided to the magazine in which the magazine needles corresponded one to one with the topping needles are arranged in rows.
  • the knitted fabric is continuously transported to the magazine by the topping device, and a predetermined number of the knitted fabrics are provided to the magazine, the magazine itself is provided to the linking step as a whole to efficiently complete the clothing.
  • a configuration of smoothly transferring the knitted fabric from the topping needle to the magazine needle is required.
  • a transporting device (11) of the knitted fabric is arranged as a separate member from a magazine (10) on the magazine (10) side.
  • a device (49) is arranged near the magazine needle (5) to push the knitted fabric held at the relevant needle (.5) towards the back.
  • each transporting device of the knitted fabric described in the documents is arranged fixed in the vicinity of the magazine needle so as to be placed over the magazine needle, and thus the magazine with the knitted fabric becomes troublesome to handle.
  • the magazine is hard to remove, as the transporting device becomes a hindrance when providing the knitted fabric provided to the magazine to the linking step.
  • the present invention relates to a flat knitting machine comprising a topping device, a magazine and a knitted fabric transporting device for moving stitches from topping needles to magazine needles when removing the stitches with the topping device including the topping needles for holding the stitches of a knitted fabric, which is knitted with a needle bed of the flat knitting machine, from the needle bed and transferring to the magazine needles.
  • the knitted fabric transporting device of the present invention includes a rotation shaft rotatably supported by the topping device near the topping needles; a plurality of knitted fabric transport plates arranged in a line in the rotation shaft; and a drive mechanism for rotating the rotation shaft.
  • the plurality of knitted fabric transport plates are interposed between the adjacent topping needles by rotating the rotation shaft to send out the knitted fabric from the topping needles to the magazine needles with an edge of the knitted fabric transport plates.
  • At least one of the plurality of knitted fabric transport plates is preferably arranged with the edges shifted with respect to the other knitted fabric transport plates to have a time difference in the movement of the knitted fabric from the topping needles to the magazine needles in a lateral direction of the stitches held at the topping needles.
  • a configuration includes two configurations, a configuration of arranging the knitted fabric transport plates of the same shape such that the edges are shifted, and a configuration of using the knitted fabric transport plates of different shapes.
  • a common edge having the same shape is preferably formed in each knitted fabric transport plate having different shapes so that the stitches of the knitted fabric moved to the magazine needle are finally aligned in the lateral direction of the stitches.
  • the configuration near the magazine which is the receiving side of the knitted fabric, can be simplified, and consequently, a free space forms near the magazine.
  • a plurality of magazines can be provided to one flat knitting machine using the free space formed near the magazine.
  • the load on the drive mechanism for rotating the rotation shaft can be alleviated since the stitches of knitted fabric held at the topping needles are transported to the magazine needles over plural times.
  • a more compact drive mechanism thus can be adopted, and the load on the topping device, to which the knitted fabric transporting device of the present invention is attached, can be reduced.
  • the topping device can be miniaturized by reducing the load on the topping device.
  • the stitches of the knitted fabric held at the magazine needles can be finally aligned in the lateral direction of the stitches when the knitted fabric is moved to the magazine by using the plates having different shapes and forming a common edge having the same shape in each knitted fabric transport plate having different shapes when shifting the edges of the knitted fabric transport plates arranged in a line. If the stitches of the knitted fabric provided to the magazine are aligned in the lateral direction of the stitches, the stitches of the knitted fabrics can be easily corresponded when linking the knitted fabric held at the magazine and the knitted fabric knitted separate from the relevant knitted fabric in the post-step.
