Abstract

Blocker for a fixed rope comprising a metal flange 11 equipped with a chute 14 for accommodating the rope, and a pivoting trigger 12 for locking the rope against the inner surface of the chute when the flange 11 is biased in the direction of lowering. The outer surface of the chute 14 comprises an ergonomic handle 20 for the total grip of the blocker. The handle 20 extends over the entire length of the chute 14, and the axis 16 of articulation of the trigger 12 is located at an intermediate level between the opposite ends of the handle 20.

Description

    Technical field of the invention
  • The invention relates to a blocker for fixed rope, comprising a metal flange equipped with a chord housing chute, a pivoting trigger for locking the rope against the inner surface of the chute when the flange is loaded into the direction of descent, and an ergonomic grip for gripping the blocker.
  • State of the art
  • Handle progress clamps are designed for single rope lifts from 8mm to 13mm. The body of the blocker is usually aluminum alloy, and the trigger is chromed steel. It is known to conform the handle according to a gripping handle arranged under the blocker. The handle and the body of the blocker are manufactured by cutting and folding the same sheet of aluminum alloy. The handling of the handle is made at a level offset from the locking area of the rope in the chute of the blocker. The size of this type of progress blocker is quite important.
  • Object of the invention
  • The object of the invention is to provide a fixed rope locker, having an optimum grip and comfortable and a small footprint.
  • The blocker according to the invention is characterized in that the handle extends over the entire length outside the chute, and the axis of articulation of the trigger is located at an intermediate level between the opposite ends of the chute. the handle.
  • The blocker easily fits in the user's hand, with a comfortable and efficient fit.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, the handle comprises a lower bearing abutment of the hand, and an upper protuberance serving as an index wedge.
  • The handle can be attached to the chute by fastening means, or be an integral part of the metal flange.
  • The handle is preferably made of molded plastic.
  • Brief description of the drawings
  • Other advantages and features will emerge more clearly from the following description of an embodiment of the invention given by way of non-limiting example and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:
    • the figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of the handle blocker according to the invention;
    • the Figures 2 to 4 represent elevational views of the handle blocker, respectively in the active position, in the intermediate open position and in the inactive position of the pin trigger;
    Detailed description of the invention
  • In the figures, a fixed rope clamp 10 has a fixed flange 11, and a movable trigger 12 equipped with a pinned surface 13 for locking the rope in the downhill direction.
  • The flange 11 comprises a U-shaped rectilinear guiding chute 14 allowing the rope to slide as the user progresses in the upward direction. Opposite the trough 14 is a half-open U-shaped stirrup 15 carrying the transverse hinge pin 16 of the pivoting trigger 12.
  • A space 17 is provided between the chute 14 and the stirrup 15 for positioning the rope after the trigger 12 has been moved to the inactive position of the rope. figure 4 .
  • The base of the flange 11 is provided with a circular orifice 18 for hooking a carabiner. The trigger 13 with 13 inclined pins is of the type described in the document FR 2600898 . A control lever 19 is articulated on the trigger 12 to move it to the inactive position, and maintain it in this position stably by hanging on the rear of the stirrup 15.
  • An ergonomic handle 20 is attached to the flange 11 along the outside of the chute 14. It extends over the entire length of the chute 14 being delimited by a stop 21 and a lower protuberance 22 upper. The lower stop 21 allows the support of the hand, while the protrusion 22 serves as an index wedge for optimum hold of the blocker in the hand of the user. The axis 16 of articulation of the trigger 12 is located at an intermediate level between the opposite ends of the handle 20.
  • The handle 20 is preferably made of molded plastic, being attached to the chute 14 by screws 23, or any other fastening means. The metal flange 11 is made by cutting and bending a sheet of aluminum alloy, or stainless steel.
  • According to an alternative embodiment, the handle 20 is an integral part of the flange 11 following a molding operation.
