This solution requires a considerable effort for the assembly of traffic signs on the one hand and the assembly of vehicles on the other hand with appropriate equipment.

The focus is on the detection of speed limits and the display of appropriate information in a readable for the driver display.
  • The present invention has for its object to provide a simple to implement today's technology system with the intentional or unwanted driving on roads against the prescribed direction at least to a large extent prevented.

  • The inventive combination of the detection of prohibiting the entrance traffic signs on the one hand with the verification of the thus introduced wrong drive on driving through the satellite positioning and navigation device on the other hand allows the first realistic to be performed intervention in the vehicle electronics to stop the vehicle to a wrong drive ("ghost ride" ) in the wrong direction.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a warning signal is emitted from the vehicle when the wrong drive has been detected.   • As a detection device of the vehicle, for example, at least one camera is used whose images are evaluated by an image evaluation device for detecting the traffic signs. Such cameras with a corresponding image evaluation device have already been disclosed in the prior art.
  • According to the invention it may be expedient to use the image evaluation device also for the evaluation of lane markings of a used lane. For example, it can be determined here whether after the first warning of the driver before driving on a lane in the wrong direction of travel, a change of the lane takes place, so that possibly the error has already been corrected. The evaluation of the lane markings may also be of importance if a continuation of travel after the electronic stopping of the vehicle is only made possible if an immediate turning is recognized by the satellite positioning and navigation device and / or the recognition device.   • In order to at least complicate an intentional turning off the fuse according to the invention against the wrong driving, the control signal is generated to interrupt the continuation when the detection device receives no input signal. The pasting over of the detection device formed, for example, by a camera thus does not lead to a bypass of the safety device, since in this case the vehicle preferably can not be started at all.
