Notamment, un but est de faire en sorte que la couronne de quantième d'un mouvement existant puisse être utilisée comme organe moteur sans grande modifications, que la liaison cinématique entre cette couronne de quantième et les mobiles d'affichage se fasse aussi directement que possible et avec des mobiles à deux planches au maximum.
