- The top comb (1) as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the stiffening element (11, 12) - viewed in the longitudinal direction of the top comb carrier (2) - extends from the middle of the top comb carrier towards its two ends (R1, R2), and is at a distance (a) from the ends of the top comb carrier.
- The top comb (1) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 2, characterized in that the stiffening element (11) with the holding section (4) and the carrier plate (5) together form a hollow profile.
- The top comb (1) as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that the hollow profile - viewed in cross-section - has a cross-sectional area which reduces in the direction of the points of the needle strip (7).
- The top comb (1) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the stiffening element (11, 12) is arranged on the front side (S1) of the carrier plate (5) referred to the direction of flow (D) of the fiber material through the top comb fitting (7).
- The top comb (1) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the top comb carrier (2) is made of plastic.
- The top comb (1) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the top comb carrier (2) comprises an extruded profile.
- The top comb (1) as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that the extruded profile is made of a non-metallic material.
- The top comb (1) as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that the extruded profile is made of an aluminum alloy.
