- FIG. 5b shows the state after pressing the opening tool (100) through the lid (30).
- the opening surfaces (40) cut by the cutting edges (140) are in Fig. 5b not shown.
- the entire opening area (40) has a substantially lower material thickness than the rest of the lid (30) to facilitate opening.
- the opening surface is made of a different, preferably softer material than the rest of the lid to facilitate the slicing, which can be realized, for example, with a 2K (2 components) injection molding process known in the art.
- the opening area can also be designed as a film.
- Fig. 6 shows a section of a lid (30) of the container (20) according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
- the opening area (40) is limited by a limiting area (50).
- the boundary area acts as a kind of predetermined breaking point or predetermined breaking point, along which the separation of the connection between the opening surface and the lid is made by the cutting edge.
- the boundary area is designed so that an easy separation is ensured by the cutting edge. This can be guaranteed in several ways.
- the boundary area is designed so that it has a different, preferably lower material thickness than the remaining lid (30).
- the boundary area (50) itself has areas of different material thickness.
- one half of the circle may have a material thickness equal to one quarter of that of the surrounding lid while the other half corresponds to a material thickness of 70 percent of that of the surrounding lid.
- the boundary area is designed in a different material than the rest of the lid, which can be realized, for example, with a 2K injection molding process known to those skilled in the art.
- the boundary region may for example also be designed as a foil.
- the boundary region (50) Due to the limitation of the opening area by a region of thinner material thickness, opening with the means according to the invention is facilitated. In the aforementioned embodiment with variable thickness of the boundary region (50), a further effect is added. The region of lesser thickness allows for easy initial penetration or incision through the termination (140) of the tube (110). With increasing penetration of the tube in the direction of the container, the boundary area (50) is further separated by the oblique termination (140). It is desirable that the opening area is not completely separated from the remainder of the lid as otherwise the separated portion could fall into the container. This could lead to problems in pipetting when the severed part of the lid lays in front of the opening of the pipetting tool. The slightly larger area of the bounding area helps to prevent the bounding area from being completely separated. As a result, the separated part of the opening area remains connected at this point with the rest of the lid and does not fall into the container (20).
- the already described goal of opening the lid with little effort and preventing the complete separation of the opening area is also achieved by the following embodiments of the invention.
- the force required is particularly great when several opening surfaces are to be opened simultaneously and when the lid is firmly connected to the container, e.g. welded, is.
- considerable forces are required when using conventional closure materials such as polyethylene for the production of the lid.
- Fig. 7a shows a tube (110) of the opening tool according to an embodiment of the invention.
- the tube (110) has a dorsal end (125) and a distal end (120).
- the oblique termination (140) (cutting edge) also has a dorsal end (160) and a distal end (170).
- the angle of the chamfer (140) is constant.

Description
The present invention relates to a device for removing substances from prefilled containers. The device is suitable, for example, for applications in biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology, medical diagnostics or forensic medicine.
In many technical fields, such as chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, medicine or environmental technology, it is necessary to analyze, separate, process or react with each other biological materials containing biological target molecules (eg, flowable biological samples) bring. For this purpose, the liquids or materials are filtered by various methods, cooled, heated, disassembled, washed, pipetted and / or treated by other methods. Often it is necessary to go through a long and complex series of processing steps to prepare the biological material. Various reagents are added during processing. Depending on the type of analysis or preparation of the sample, different combinations of reagents are used during the process. Especially with larger amounts of sample, the processing is preferably automated. Usually, the reagents required for processing are used in prefilled containers by an operator in an apparatus for automatic sample processing. To remove the reagents, the device with means for opening the containers - if they were not already opened when loading the device - and provided for the controlled removal. In this case, the opening and removal can be provided by the same tool by, for example, a cannula pierces through a perforable lid of the container and then the reagent is sucked off via an external suction device.

In the following description of various embodiments of the present invention, functionally similar features of the various embodiments are given the same reference numerals.
In particular, the opening tool (100) and / or the container (20) can be equipped with at least one positioning element for precise positioning on the transport tool (200). Preferably, elements are selected from a group consisting of pin, hole, slot, groove and web. One or more of the positioning members of the transfer tool (200) engage with a mating position member as a counterpart, which is attached to the container and / or the lid (30) during compression. Corresponding possible pairings form pin-hole, pin-slot, groove-bar or pin-groove, whereby combinations of other elements are considered as within the scope of the invention.
By means of the pipetting tool, whose end projects into the substance to be pipetted in the prefilled container (20), the substance is then removed from the container by means of the suction device (300). In this case, either parts of or the entire contents of the container can be removed in one operation. For example, a part of the content can be removed via the pipetting tool, the pipetting tool can be completely removed from the container (for example moved out) and, for example, moved to a parking position. At a later time Time can be removed with the same or another pipetting a further part of the contents of the container.
The advantage of the present invention over known systems of the prior art is that the process of opening the lid and withdrawing the pipetable substance are separate. This prevents the pointed end of the pipetting tool used in prior art systems from piercing the lid from becoming clogged or damaged. At the same time, the demands on the mechanical stability of the pipetting tool fall because it does not have to transfer the forces required to open the lid. In addition, the separation of the opening tool and the pipetting tool also makes it possible to detect the level of the pipetable substance remaining in the container through the opening, because the opening is retained even after the pipetting tool has been pulled out. Embodiments of the invention further relate to embodiments of the opening tool and the lid, which allow easier and reliable opening.
If the pipetting tool has been completely removed from the container after one or more removal operations and no further substances are to be removed at this time, the container (20) with attached opening tool (100) can optionally be closed again by means of a cover in order to prevent contamination or contamination to prevent evaporation of the pre-filled substances. The cover is arranged on the opening tool. The type of cover is not particularly limited and there are many known from the prior art ways of implementation, e.g. Foils, covers made of flexible or stiff materials such as plastic, metal or similar. The cover can be provided both for single use and for repeated use.
The chambers or inserts (70) are preferably provided in the embodiment described with the covers (30) described in more detail below. In addition to the chambers in which the removal of their contents by means of the method or system according to the invention, the container may comprise further chambers and / or inserts (65, 75), which preferably also contain materials for carrying out the planned processes in which the removal their contents but not done by means of the method or system according to the invention. Thus, some of the materials exemplified above may be in the chambers or inserts (70), while other required substances are advantageously introduced into the remaining chambers and / or inserts of the container. It is particularly advantageous for the one or more lysis solutions, wash solutions, elution solutions, binding solutions, and / or buffers to be present in the chambers (70).
The use of inserts that can be placed in and removed from the container has the advantage that materials requiring special treatment, such as enzymes that need to be cooled, or suspension, are homogenized again just prior to use must be able to receive their special treatment regardless of the other materials and the total container.
Dies bewirkt eine Führung und Zentrierung des Öffnungswerkzeugs beim Auflegen oder -setzen auf den Deckel (30) durch bevorzugt konisch geformte Führungen (35).Preferably, the angular positions of the normal between the individual tubes differ by multiples of 90 degrees, so that four different angular positions are possible. This causes a guidance and centering of the Opening tool when placing or setting on the lid (30) by preferably conically shaped guides (35).
In one embodiment of the invention, the tube (110) of the opening tool (100) may have other than a circular cross-sectional shape, including (but not limited to) the cross-sectional shapes ellipse or polygon, or any variations from the foregoing. In addition, the tube (110) may have a structure that is only substantially tubular but deviates from the tube shape. These include, for example, missing segments or arbitrarily shaped openings in the wall structure.
As already stated, when moving or pressing the opening tool in the direction of the opening surfaces, a part of the lid (30) located within the opening area (40) is moved in the direction of the container, thus creating an opening in the lid. The inclined end (140) of the tube (110) exerts a force on the opening surface as a kind of cutting edge. In one embodiment of the invention, the entire opening area (40) has a substantially lower material thickness than the rest of the lid (30) to facilitate opening. In another Embodiment, the opening surface is made of a different, preferably softer material than the rest of the lid to facilitate the slicing, which can be realized, for example, with a 2K (2 components) injection molding process known in the art. In this case, the opening area can also be designed as a film.
In a preferred variant, the boundary area is designed so that it has a different, preferably lower material thickness than the remaining lid (30). In a further embodiment, the boundary area (50) itself has areas of different material thickness. As a non-limiting example, in a circular confining area (50), one half of the circle may have a material thickness equal to one quarter of that of the surrounding lid while the other half corresponds to a material thickness of 70 percent of that of the surrounding lid.
In a further embodiment, the boundary area is designed in a different material than the rest of the lid, which can be realized, for example, with a 2K injection molding process known to those skilled in the art. In this case, the boundary region may for example also be designed as a foil.
In der Folge bleibt der abgetrennte Teil der Öffnungsfläche an dieser Stelle mit dem restlichen Deckel verbunden und fällt nicht in das Behältnis (20).Due to the limitation of the opening area by a region of thinner material thickness, opening with the means according to the invention is facilitated.
The already described goal of opening the lid with little effort and preventing the complete separation of the opening area is also achieved by the following embodiments of the invention. The force required is particularly great when several opening surfaces are to be opened simultaneously and when the lid is firmly connected to the container, e.g. welded, is. In addition, considerable forces are required when using conventional closure materials such as polyethylene for the production of the lid.
Embodiments according to the invention are also possible in which a complete separation of the opening area from the remaining lid is carried out. In this case, the lid can either fall into the container or be removed by further measures from the container.
In a preferred embodiment, a dorsal end (125) of the tube (110) provides a frictional fit of the tube end in the lid (30) of the container (20) in the fitted state of the opening tool (100). For this purpose, for example, the upper tube end has a slightly cone-like shape, which preferably has an angle of about 0.5 to 5 degrees, more preferably about 0.7 to 4 degrees, and more preferably about 1 to 3 degrees. This cone serves several purposes. It smoothes any irregularities in the cutting contour caused by the cutting edge, which have arisen when the opening surface is cut, by slightly widening the cut contour. As a result, the tube (110) or the opening tool (100) at the same time seals with the lid (30) of the container (20), which prevents or reduces their evaporation at least to a certain extent in the case of volatile reagents such as alcohol. Finally, the frictional engagement causes a stable mechanical fit of the tube in the lid or container, whereby o.ä. on the already briefly described position elements or similar elements for intervention. can be waived.
If an even greater stability is to be achieved beyond the frictional seat described, the opening tool (100) can be equipped with at least one positioning element for precise positioning on the receptacle (20). Preferably, elements are selected from a group consisting of pin, hole, slot, groove and web. The positioning element engages during compression with a mating position member as a counterpart attached to the container or lid (30). Corresponding possible pairings form pin-hole, pin-slot, groove-bar or pin-groove, whereby combinations of other elements are considered as within the scope of the invention.
The invention is also directed to an apparatus for carrying out the disclosed methods and includes apparatus parts for carrying out each of the described method steps.
