Abstract

The invention relates to a housing for a household appliance which comprises front (37) and lateral edges (38) on the upper side thereof. At least one securing link (12) can be displaced on at least one of the edges (37, 38) between a position which is adjacent to the housing (1) and a position which is at a distance from the housing.

Description


  Housing for a household appliance

The present invention relates to a housing for a household appliance such as a Kühloder or freezer, a Spüloder washing machine, a Wäschetrocner or an oven, which is intended to be fixedly coupled to adjacent appliances or kitchen furniture.

Built-in home appliances are generally designed for mounting in a niche of a kitchen furniture, which has predetermined grid dimensions to which the dimensions of the built-in appliance are adapted. To fix the built-in appliance in the furniture niche, only a few connection points are sufficient.

   Conventionally, a built-in device is fixed in the furniture by means of a plate-shaped bridging part, which is mounted on the top of the device, which projects beyond a front edge of the device body and their supernatant area after placement of the device on the ceiling of the furniture niche is fixable.

Household appliances in stand construction are usually not equipped with devices for a fixed coupling to neighboring equipment or furniture. When such devices and furniture are placed closely adjacent to each other, they may slip against each other, giving the vision front they share a messy, unappealing look. It is therefore desirable per se to be able to create a fixed coupling to adjacent devices or furniture even with such devices.

   However, this is more difficult than with a built-in appliance because the environment in which such a appliance is installed can not be standardized as a furniture niche, but may be different from case to case and may require other types of coupling to adjacent furniture or appliances. It is therefore desirable to have a housing for a household appliance, which allows a fixed coupling to surrounding furniture or equipment in various installation situations.

To meet this requirement, in a housing for a household appliance with a top having front and side edges, at least one of

   In the adjacent position the tab is inconspicuous or even not visible to a user, if adjacent to this tab no furniture is set up, with which the housing should be coupled or could be coupled; if such furniture is present, the fastening tab can be brought into the housing protruding position to use it for coupling with the furniture.

Preferably, in particular when the fastening tab is arranged on a lateral edge of the housing, the fastening tab is pivotable about this edge between the adjacent and the protruding position.

   In this case, the protruding position may be in particular a horizontal position in which the fastening tab extends to a housing adjacent to the housing, the height of which is the same as that of the housing; but the protruding position may also be a vertically upright position in which the fastening tab contacts a side wall of an adjacent piece of furniture that is higher than the housing, and can be attached to this side wall.

In the adjacent position, the fastening tab is preferably on top of the housing.

   Thus, when not in use, if the adjacent side wall of the housing is exposed, it is practically invisible from the exposed side.

A second type of fastening tab is pivotally connected to an intermediate piece, which in turn in turn is pivotally connected to the top of the housing. This allows the fastening tab to be adjusted while maintaining its orientation. Such a tab is particularly suitable for coupling the housing to a arranged above furniture, such as a wall cabinet.

Such a tab preferably has a projection on one of its major surfaces, and a screw hole extends through the projection.

   So remains when the tab is bolted to a piece of furniture and the projection touches the furniture, there is a gap between tab and furniture around the projection.

This gap can be used to secure therein a first blind profile which hides the mounting tab towards a front of the housing. Such a blend profile expediently has a first limb which rests on the fastening lug and has an open-edged slot receiving the projection. So it is possible to insert the glare profile in the gap between the tab and furniture, which remains free around the projection when the latter touches the furniture.

A second, vertical leg of the blend profile advantageously has horizontally extending grooves. These grooves can perform a dual function.

   On the one hand they form weak points of the second leg, along which it is easily possible to shorten the vertical leg, if this is higher than is required for covering the fastening tabs and a possible space between the top of the housing and the overlying furniture.

   Thus, a single type of blend profile may be used to hide the mounting tabs and the space between the top of the cabinet and furniture, although the width of this gap may vary considerably from one location to another.

A second function of the vertical leg and in particular of its horizontal grooves is that they can provide a second cover profile support extending from the second, vertical leg to a front upper edge of the body and thus the tabs also down hidden behind.

Preferably, all tabs are attached to a plate extending across the top of a body of the housing from one side edge to the other.

The tabs and the plate are preferably formed integrally from flat material.

   In order to be able to adjust the straps, weak points in the flat material are preferably formed between the plate and the straps.

Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying figures.

If a cabinet-like household appliance such as a refrigerator or freezer is placed freely between adjacent furniture, essentially the configurations shown in Figures 1 a, 1 b, 1 c each show a schematic front view. In the following, when talking about objects placed adjacent to the household appliance according to the invention, furniture is always spoken of, but it should be understood that these may also be other cabinet-shaped household appliances.

Fig. 1 a shows a configuration in which a household appliance 1 shown as a dashed rectangle is inserted into a space between furniture 2, 3, which are both as high as the device 1 itself.

   In this case, only the tops of the device 1 and the furniture 2, 3 are accessible to produce a coupling between the device 1 and furniture 2, 3 on them.

In the configuration of Fig. 1 c, the furniture 3 on the right side of the household appliance 1 is higher than that 2 on the left side. A coupling of the same type as for the configuration of Fig. 1 a is not possible here, since a coupling device extending to the right from the top of the household appliance 1 would collide with the furniture 3. In the configuration shown in Fig. 1 c, the household appliance is inserted into a space bounded on the right and left by furniture 2, 3, which are higher than the device 1, and upwards by a wall unit 4.

   In this configuration, neither coupling between the tops of the side-by-side furniture 2, 3 and the device 1, as contemplated in the case of Fig. 1A, is possible, nor is there any coupling between the top of the device and a side wall of the furniture, as would be in the case of Fig. 1 B into consideration.

Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of a coupling plate which, mounted on top of the household appliance 1, allows in all three configurations a coupling to the adjacent furniture.

The one-piece punched out of sheet coupling plate 5 comprises a substantially rectangular base plate 6, whose width corresponds to that of the household appliance 1. Via a front edge of the base plate 6 are at uniform intervals from each other fastening tabs 8.

   Slots 7 are cut into the base plate 6 on either side of each fastening tab 8. Along the front edge of the base plate 6 and in each case between the ends of two adjacent slots 7 groups 9, 10 are punched out of oblong holes. The slots 7 and the groups of slots 9, 10 each delimit intermediate pieces 1 1, which are easily bendable along the groups 9, 10, both with respect to the fastening tabs 8 and to the rest of the base plate 6.

Further fastening tabs 12 are formed at the longitudinal ends of the base plate 6 and also deposited therefrom by groups of slots 13.

   In the configuration shown in Fig. 2, the fastening tabs 12 are each bent back along the slots 13 on the top of the base plate 6.

As an alternative to the one-piece connection between the base plate 6 and the lateral fastening tabs 12 shown in the figure, there would also be a hinge connection, e.g. B. the type piano band, into consideration. Holes 14 in the base plate 6 serve to screw the coupling plate 5 on the body of a household appliance; Holes 15, 16 in the fastening tabs 8, 12 for screwing the tabs on adjacent furniture 2, 3, 4, if any.

   The fastening tabs 8 each have an elongate, upwardly directed projection 17, in which the holes 15 are formed.

Fig. 3 shows the household appliance 1, viewed from the front left of the household appliance 1 set up furniture 2 and the coupling plate 5 in a perspective view. The household appliance has a body 18 and a door 19 hinged thereto, partially open in the figure. The coupling plate 5 is screwed to the top of the body 18 in a position in which the front edge of the base 6 is approximately flush with the upper front edge of the body Corpus 18 coincides.

   The mounting tabs 8 are in a same plane with the base plate 6 and over the front of the body 18 on, but not so far that they would survive the front edge 37 of the door 19 in its closed position. The base plate 6 extends from one lateral edge 38 of the top of the body 18 to the other.

One of the lateral fastening tabs 12 is pivoted up by 90 ° about an axis which substantially coincides with the adjacent edge 38, so that the fastening tab 12 rests against the side wall of the furniture 2, and is screwed thereto that it fixes the household appliance 1 in a position with respect to the furniture 2,

   in which the door 19 is in the closed position flush with the front of the cabinet 2 or otherwise aligned as desired.

To couple the household appliance 1 to a piece of furniture which has the same height as itself, one of the lateral fastening tabs 12 can be moved from the position shown in FIG. 2 by 180 [deg.] Into a horizontal, laterally over the body 18 protruding position are pivoted, in which it rests on the top of the furniture and can be screwed from above in this.

The use of the tabs 8 for coupling the device 1 to a hanging cabinet 4 arranged above it is shown in Fig. 4 with reference to a vertical section, which shows the coupling plate 5 and a piece of the ceiling of the body 18 and the bottom of the wall unit 4 , Between both there is a gap 20, the width of which can be different in each installation situation. The coupling plate 5 is fastened to the body 18 before insertion of the device under the wall unit 4 by screws 21.

   From this position, the fastening tabs 8 are pressed against the bottom plate of the cabinet 4, wherein the material of the coupling plate 5 along the groups of slots 9, 10 kinks and the intermediate piece 1 1 assumes the oblique course shown in the figure. The projection 17 of the tab 8 is held pressed by a screw 22 against the cabinet 4.

The projection 17 surrounding regions 23 (see FIG. 2) remain spaced from the bottom of the cabinet 4 through a narrow gap 24. In this gap, a first cover profile 25 is inserted. Fig. 5 shows a perspective view of a portion of this first cover profile 25. It has a substantially L-shaped cross-section with a horizontal leg 26, in the open at regular intervals open-edge slots 27 are cut.

   These slots 27 allow the horizontal leg 26 to be inserted into the gap 24 by receiving in each case the projections 17 of the lugs 8 screwed to the cabinet 4. A vertical leg 28 conceals the view from the front of the gap 20 and the coupling plate 5 mounted therein.

The vertical leg 28 is provided on its the body 18 facing the rear side with a plurality of horizontally extending grooves 29.

   These grooves 29 form weak points along which it is easily possible to shorten the leg 28 by cutting or breaking and thus adapt it to the width of the gap 20.

Since the fastening tabs 8 must project over the front of the body 18 in order to screw them to the underside of the cabinet 4, the vertical leg 28 of the cover 25 can not touch the body 18 and therefore can not the gap 20 completely closure. For this purpose, a second cover 30, which is here in the form of a flat channel with side walls 31, 32 is used. One of the side walls 31 abuts the front of the body 18, and the other 32 includes an upwardly open groove in which the vertical leg 28 engages.
