Definitions
- the invention relates to a collector and a collector arrangement for recovering heat from incident, preferably solar radiation.
- Concentrating collectors for generating heat from solar energy are very often designed as parabolic trough collectors.
- the world's largest application is in solar farm power plants, where solar heat is used to heat a heat carrier (mostly thermal oil).
- the heat carrier gives the transmitted to him solar heat to a Steam power process.
- the necessary high temperature level requires a high concentration of solar radiation.
- the parabolic trough collectors consist of an elongate reflector 110, which has a parabolic profile transversely to its longitudinal direction, see FIG. 8.
- An absorber tube 120 in which a heat transfer medium flows, is arranged in the focal axis of the reflector.
- the heat transfer medium absorbs the heat absorbed by the pipe and transports it to a heat consumer site, for example a thermal power plant.
- parabolic trough collectors are also used to generate heating heat and process heat.
- parabolic trough collectors result from the physical principle of concentration or focusing.
- the contour of the reflector must have a high accuracy so that the reflected rays impinge on the suction tube.
- a considerable part of the reflected rays misses the target, resulting in considerable power losses and corresponding reductions in efficiency.
- the principle of concentration also requires precise tracking of the collectors.
- the collectors are then always aligned so that their reflectors are always arranged orthogonal to the direction of the incident sunbeams.
- the parabolic troughs are designed as elongated troughs ", which are usually connected in series in a row to a large collector array.
- the large length of the individual troughs may cause additional deformation of the reflector due to torsional forces, which would also lead to a false focus special structural measures are taken to prevent torsion of the parabolic trough, such as torsion tubes or elaborate steel lattice constructions on the back of the mirrors, which help prevent the entire structure consisting of reflector and absorber tube from deforming Torsion or being protected by wind forces.
- the collector is temporarily exposed to strong winds.
- the wind forces also require a dimensionally stable construction of the collector, otherwise the reflector would deform under the influence of wind forces and the focus line would drift away from the absorber tube.
- the parabolic trough collectors used in industrial plants and in solar power plants are therefore protected against deformation by wind influences by correspondingly complex auxiliary structures.
- the complex auxiliary structures to ensure the dimensional stability of the reflector require compared to the reflector itself a high cost of materials and are due to this cost of materials and because of their complicated design costly in production. Therefore, they make the production of the entire collector, and in particular the production of a whole solar energy plant, disproportionately expensive.
- the present invention seeks to provide a reflector device for a collector or collectors in a collector arrangement ready, which already has such a high dimensional stability in itself, that no further significant additional expenses to increase the dimensional stability of the reflector necessary.
- the claimed reflector device comprises a plurality of facet elements, which are arranged at an angle to each other such that the reflector device has a zigzag profile and that the facet elements of a first group of the plurality each have a reflective surface and are arranged such that they each reflect the incident on their reflective surfaces radiation over different focal lengths in the common first focusing region of the reflector device.
- This claimed embodiment of the reflector device with a plurality of zigzag arranged facet elements offers the advantage of high inherent stability. Because of this intrinsic or dimensional stability, the reflector device is advantageously at least largely stable in its shape or resistant to possibly attacking wind or torsional forces, without it having to be mechanically reinforced by additional structural measures. The reflector device is therefore very inexpensive to manufacture.
- the facet elements of a second group of the plurality of facet elements are each heat-absorbing on their upper side facing the radiation and have on their underside facing away from the incident radiation a facet element absorber device for removing the heat absorbed in particular on its upper side ,
- a first alternative possibility is provided to make heat additionally usable by means of the facet elements of the second group, which do not focus the radiation into the first focusing area.
- a second alternative to the utilization of heat by means of the facet elements of the second group is to each reflect their reflective surface facing the incident radiation and align it so that these facet elements reflect the incident radiation into a common second focusing region of the reflector device.
- the heat can then advantageously be utilized by means of a second absorber device arranged there.
- the second absorber device it is also possible to provide at least one secondary reflector device which preferably deflects or reflects the radiation reflected by the facet elements of the second group into the first focusing region before reaching the second focusing region.
- the provision of the secondary reflector means can be designed to save space compared to the provision of the second absorber in the second focusing region.
- the individual facet elements are preferably profiled parabolically.
- a planar profiling of the facet elements is also possible; However, it offers compared to a parabolic profiling a reduced efficiency.
- the reflector device can have a parabolic profile that is homogeneous in itself, which is preferably oriented such that it likewise reflects the rays incident there into one of the focusing regions of the reflector device.
- the first or the second absorber device in the first or second focusing region of the reflector device and / or the facet element absorber devices on the underside of the facet elements of the second group are preferably all of a similar construction. All these absorbers typically have a flow channel, for example in the form of a tube, in which a heat transfer medium, for example thermal oil, flows to
- the reflector device is formed with the facet elements so that it extends in a plane.
- the reflector device according to the invention therefore has a much smaller space requirement, because a lower overall height.
- the reflector means may be formed with the facet elements circular or alternatively elongated, depending on the available space requirements, or according to the desired design.
- the first focusing region is naturally substantially spherical or punctiform, while the second focusing region is annular.
- the facet element Absorbing device and / or the second absorber device in the second focus area annular and concentric with the reflector device formed.
- both its first and second focusing region and also the associated absorber devices are likewise elongated, preferably of tubular design.
- the reflector device is preferably formed from sheet metal, for example from aluminum sheet. It can then be very easily produced using metal presses with appropriate dies in high quantities at low processing costs and high manufacturing accuracy.
- collector assembly according to claim 16.
- the advantages of this solution correspond substantially to the advantages mentioned above with reference to the described collector.

- Figure 2 is a diagram for illustrating the construction of the collector
- FIG. 3 shows a collector arrangement
- Figure 4 is a diagram for illustrating the construction of the collector assembly
- FIG. 5 shows a first variant of the collector arrangement
- FIG. 6 shows a second variant of the collector arrangement
- Figure 7 shows the collector assembly installed in a frame
- Figure 8 shows a concentrating collector according to the prior art
- Figure 9 is a multi-faceted facet reflector with secondary reflectors
- FIG. 10 shows a multiple-effect facet collector with housing and rectangular absorber tubes as well as with heat insulation and a planar glass cover of the absorber surface.
- Figure 1 shows an example of the collector 100 according to the invention. It serves to recover heat from incident solar radiation. It comprises a reflector device 110 having a multiplicity of facet elements 110-I-i and 110-II-n, where i, n each represent a natural number. According to the invention, the individual facet elements in the reflector device 110 are arranged at an angle to one another, so that the zigzag or fan-shaped profile 116 shown in FIG. 1 results for the reflector device. To simplify the further embodiments, the facet elements are divided into a first group I in a second group II, wherein the elements of the first group in Figure 1 from bottom left to top right and the facet elements of group II from top left to bottom right.
- the angle a between the tangents of two adjacent facet elements can lie in their contact point in an angle range ⁇ 180 ° and be different for the individual points of contact.
- at least one group of facet elements is always provided with a reflecting surface and is respectively positioned within the reflector device with respect to the incident radiation such that they reflect the incident sunrays into a first first focusing region 130-1 associated with the first group of facet elements.
- the individual facet elements each have a different distance from the first focusing area 130-1 assigned to them in common, and therefore reflect the incident sunrays each with different focal lengths into this first focusing area.
- the collector 100 has, in the first focusing area 130-1, a first absorber 120-1, which is heated by the reflecting radiation and designed to dissipate the absorbed heat to a heat consumer site, for example a thermal power plant, a heater or a process.
- a heat consumer site for example a thermal power plant, a heater or a process.
- the absorber device 120-1 is typically designed in the form of a flow channel in which a heat carrier, for example thermal oil, flows in order to remove the heat to the consumer point.
- the flow channel may in principle have any desired cross-section, but flow channels having a rectangular or triangular cross-section have proven themselves due to their larger surface area compared to flow channels with a circular cross-section and the associated greater efficiency.
- FIG. 1 shows a first variant of the collector 100.
- This first variant consists in that not only the facet elements 110-Ii of the first group, but also the facet elements 110-II-n of a second group II of the plurality of facet elements of the reflector device 110 are provided with a reflecting surface.
- the facet elements of the second group are further aligned within the reflector device so that they focus the incident on them sun rays on a second focusing region 130-2 of the reflector device 110.
- the second focusing area 130-2 is also associated with a second absorber 120-2 for additionally absorbing the radiation reflected by the facet elements of the second group II; the collector is therefore doubly effective.
- the facet elements 110 -Ii and 110-II-n are limited to a region B. Outside this region B, the reflector device 110 preferably has a homogeneous parabolic profile 118, which is aligned so that it the respective incident radiation is also focused in one of the two focusing areas 130-1 or 130-2.
- the facet elements 110-I-i and 110-II-n provided with reflective surface are parabolically profiled in cross-section to achieve the best possible concentration or focusing of the incident sunbeams into the first or second focus region 130-1 130-2; see Figure 2.
- the width of the individual facet elements over the entire width of the reflector device 110 assumes a very small value, then the formation of the facet elements 110-In, 110-II-n can be simplified in that the facet elements in their profile not parabolic, but formed with a flat surface.
- the focusing then takes place somewhat inaccurate or blurred as in a parabolic formation of the facet elements and then forms no line, but a narrow band of the reflected solar radiation on the absorber devices 120-1, 120-2.
- the width of the facet elements should be smaller than the diameter of the flow channel of the absorber.
- the reflector device 110 is essentially aligned in one plane. In contrast to parabolic trough collectors, it is therefore characterized by a low overall height and a resulting low Installation volume off.
- the reflector device 110 shown in FIG. 1 is particularly stable against acting deformation forces, without it having to be supported or stabilized by additional complicated and cost-intensive constructional measures. It can very efficiently be produced in high volumes at very low processing costs with high manufacturing accuracy using metal presses provided with appropriate stamps.
- the reflector device shown in Figure 1 is preferably formed elongated along a longitudinal axis. Parallel to this longitudinal axis, extending perpendicularly to the plane of the drawing in FIG. 1 but not shown, the focusing regions 130-1, 130-2, which are ideally designed as focussing lines, run the tubular flow channels of the first and second absorber devices 120-1, 120-2 and the facet elements 110-Ii, 110-II-n formed in the form of webs.
- FIG. 3 shows a collector arrangement in which two collectors according to FIG. 1 are connected to one another via a parabolic reflector section P.
- the construction and operation of the reflector arrangement essentially correspond to the structure described above with reference to FIG. 1 and the mode of operation of a single collector 100.
- the collector arrangement 200 according to FIG. 3 it can only be stated that the two collectors 100-1 and 100 11 are so interconnected that a focusing area of the first collector 100-1 overlaps with a focusing area of the second collector 100-11.
- This has the advantage that only one absorber device 120 is required to absorb the heat in the overlapping focusing region 130. This is then heated particularly strongly and therefore serves to absorb high-temperature heat.
- the collector arrangement 200 shown in FIG. 3 can either be elongated in the drawing plane or circular.
- the focusing area represents a focusing line, or a focusing axis, while in the latter case it would be spherical or punctiform.
- FIG. 4 illustrates, similar to FIG. 2, the construction of the reflector device 110 according to FIG. 3 with a parabolic design of the cross section of the facet elements.
- the facet element absorber device 140 is preferably constructed analogously to the first and second absorber device, but if necessary much smaller, because at least their individual flow channels must find room on the undersides U of the facet elements 110-II-n. They flow channels under the individual facet elements are preferably connected to each other and together form the facet element absorber 140. This is typically not heated as much as the first or second absorber 120-1, 120-2 and therefore, unlike the first and second absorber means Production of low-temperature heat.
- FIG. 6 shows a second variant of the collector arrangement 200 according to FIG. 3, here too the focusing elements 110-I-i which focus the incident radiation into the first focusing area 130-1; this is indicated in FIG. 6 by the two thin solid lines drawn from the right or left edge of the reflector device 110 to the first focusing region 130 - 1, respectively.
- the facet elements of the second group II are not formed with an absorbent layer but instead with a reflective layer on their upper side. Therefore, they reflect the rays incident on them first in the right and left edge region of the collector assembly 200.
- the reflective rays meet there on sub-reflectors 112, 114, to also reflected in the first focusing region 130-1 of the collector assembly 200 and to be diverted.
- the two secondary reflectors 112, 114 may be integrally formed in the form of a circumferential ring. Due to the deflection caused by the secondary reflectors 112, 114, there is increased heating of the first absorber device 120 located in the first focusing region 130-1.
- FIG. 7 shows the collector assembly 200 according to the invention installed in a suitable frame 210.
- the frame 210 serves to receive, for example, two collectors 100-1 and 100-11, which are each designed in accordance with the embodiment described above with reference to FIG.
- the individual components of the collectors 100-1, 100-11, that is their respective reflector insert directions 110-1, 110-11 and their absorber devices 120-1... 3 are each fixed within the frame and are arranged with respect to each other for optimum heat absorption.
- two focusing areas of the two collectors 100-1 and 100-11 overlap in the central focusing area 130-1.
- a suitable absorber device 120-1... 3 is provided in each case.
- the housing 210 may be formed circular or elongate according to the design of the collector assembly. Preferably, it is covered by a suitably cut glass cover. On the one hand, the glass cover advantageously increases the heat development within the housing and, on the other hand, is easier to keep clean, in particular with respect to the faceted reflector devices 110-1 and 110-11, whereby a high degree of efficiency can be easily maintained.
- Figure 9 shows a double-acting facet reflector / collector which utilizes the entire surface of the structure to focus the solar radiation into a beam (195).
- the strips of the primary profile (190-0) of the reflector / collector which are not aligned with the primary focus (130-0) are likewise provided with a parabolic profile and arranged such that they reflect the rays incident on them to at least one secondary focus axis located outside the collector .
- On the two long sides of the collector are secondary reflectors, which correspond to the secondary parabolic profiles (190-1, 190-2), at which the radiation impinging on them is reflected on the absorber tube of the (neighbor) collector. Therefore, located on the longitudinal sides of the collector side walls are made of a low-reflection material.
- the attachment device of the absorber tubes to the collector can be integrated in a cost-effective manner in a stable, box-shaped overall construction of the collector in an advantageous manner.
- the absorber tubes can be designed as round tubes, as rectangular tubes or as triangular tubes with a larger, flat absorber surface and be provided on the surface portions that are not exposed to the incident radiation, with a thermal insulation.
- a glass cover can be designed as a flat, elongated glass. This arrangement also makes it possible to make a tracking of the collector according to the position of the sun to increase the solar yield.
