- the muffler is preferably flowed through by the gas transported in the line.
- the entrained airborne sound enters the muffler with the gas and is attenuated therein, for example by means of reflection, resonances and sound-absorbing materials.
- the attenuation of airborne sound is in other gas-carrying lines, such as in a fresh air system of an internal combustion engine, of great interest, so that the present invention should not be limited in principle to be applied to internal combustion engines.
- a known countermeasure here is, for example, the arrangement of a sliding seat, which allows an axial compensating movement of two nested tubes in the region of the sliding seat. Furthermore, it is customary to stiffen the housing of such a silencer by at least one inner bottom through which, depending on the gas guide in the interior of the silencer, the inner tubes must be passed. The inner floors also serve to fix the pipes in the housing.
- a muffler is known in which two inner tubes are fastened to one and the same inner bottom and for this purpose on this inner bottom at least one attached to the one inner tube resilient first tongue and at least one attached to the other inner tube, resilient second tongue is formed, which is independent of the at least a first tongue is resiliently movable. Due to this design, the elastic Tongues independently follow the thermally induced changes in length of the inner tubes, without causing unacceptably high stresses within the inner bottom.
- the present invention is concerned with the problem of providing a muffler of the type mentioned an improved embodiment, which is characterized in particular by a simplified connection of a pipe to an inner bottom.
- the invention is based on the general idea to provide a resilient tongue in the region of a passage opening of an inner floor.
- the resilient tongue allows a thermal expansion or thermal movement between the inner tube and the inner bottom, wherein the fixed connection of the free end of the resilient tongue at the same time ensures sufficient fixation of the inner tube on the inner bottom.

- the integral construction has the advantage that no additional installation effort is required to attach, for example, separately produced tongues on the inner bottom.
- lateral cheeks of the tongue and / or adjacent cheeks of the inner bottom extend in a plane spaced apart from the inner bottom itself.

- the inner bottom 1 has in the region of the passage opening 3 only one resilient tongue 6, while in the region of the through hole 3 "has two resilient tongues 6a" and 6b ".
- the said resilient tongues 6 and 6a “and 6b" may be formed, for example, by free cutting or free punching on the inner bottom 1 and thereby be made simple and inexpensive. In addition, they form in this embodiment an integral part of the inner bottom 1, which makes a subsequent installation, for example a separately formed tongue, unnecessary. At its fixed end, that is in the region of the connection with the inner bottom 1, the resilient tongue 6 extends substantially parallel to the inner bottom 1, so that a resilient action of the tongue 6 is possible mainly in the normal direction to the inner bottom 1.
- the tongues 6, 6a “and 6b” shown have a second, angled plane 9 (see Fig. 2), via which the resilient tongues 6, 6a “, 6b” with the respective inner tubes 5 fixed are connected.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a silencer for a gas and airborne sounding line, in particular for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, preferably in a motor vehicle.
In order to reduce a noise emission in a gas-carrying line, for example, an exhaust pipe of a motor vehicle whose gas flow transports airborne sound, it is known to arrange a silencer of the type mentioned in this line. The muffler is preferably flowed through by the gas transported in the line. At the same time, the entrained airborne sound enters the muffler with the gas and is attenuated therein, for example by means of reflection, resonances and sound-absorbing materials. The attenuation of airborne sound is in other gas-carrying lines, such as in a fresh air system of an internal combustion engine, of great interest, so that the present invention should not be limited in principle to be applied to internal combustion engines.
If hot gases are transported in the line in which the muffler is arranged, for example in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, thermal expansions inevitably occur, which must be compensated for by suitable countermeasures. A known countermeasure here is, for example, the arrangement of a sliding seat, which allows an axial compensating movement of two nested tubes in the region of the sliding seat. Furthermore, it is customary to stiffen the housing of such a silencer by at least one inner bottom through which, depending on the gas guide in the interior of the silencer, the inner tubes must be passed. The inner floors also serve to fix the pipes in the housing. It is customary in the vicinity of the sliding seat to attach one tube to a first inner bottom and the other tube to a second inner bottom or to a housing wall which is spaced from the first inner bottom. However, the formation of such a sliding seat and its connection to an inner bottom of the housing is complex and expensive.
The present invention is concerned with the problem of providing a muffler of the type mentioned an improved embodiment, which is characterized in particular by a simplified connection of a pipe to an inner bottom.
According to the invention, this problem is solved by the subject matters of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.
The invention is based on the general idea to provide a resilient tongue in the region of a passage opening of an inner floor. In this case, a first peripheral portion of the passage opening on a radial clearance to the guided through the opening inner tube, while a free end of the resilient tongue forms a second peripheral portion of the opening and is fixedly connected to the inner tube. The resilient tongue allows a thermal expansion or thermal movement between the inner tube and the inner bottom, wherein the fixed connection of the free end of the resilient tongue at the same time ensures sufficient fixation of the inner tube on the inner bottom. In this case, the inner tube is integrally guided through the passage opening, so it has no sliding fit. With the solution according to the invention thus two Problems solved in a structurally simple way. On the one hand can be achieved by the firm connection of the inner tube with the resilient tongue fixing the inner tube on the inner bottom, on the other hand, the resilient tongue allows compensation of thermal expansion and thus a reduction of thermal loads.
In an advantageous embodiment of the solution according to the invention, the tongue is formed by free cutting or free punching on the inner bottom. In this way, the at least one tongue can be made particularly simple and inexpensive and forms an integral component due to the integration in the inner bottom. The integral construction has the advantage that no additional installation effort is required to attach, for example, separately produced tongues on the inner bottom.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the solution according to the invention, lateral cheeks of the tongue and / or adjacent cheeks of the inner bottom extend in a plane spaced apart from the inner bottom itself. Such a construction has the effect that, in the case of temperature expansions, the gap between the inner bottom and the tongue integrated therein is reduced, so that operation of the muffler significantly reduces the gap width. This is particularly advantageous if the inner bottom separates an expansion chamber from an absorption chamber and free-flowing absorption material is arranged in the absorption chamber. By reducing the gap width between resilient Tongue and inner bottom can thus be prevented that free-flowing absorbent material is blown out and thereby deteriorates the damping performance of the muffler.
Suitably, a slot end between the tongue and the inner bottom is scored kerbfrei. This can be done for example by a rounding of the slot end, whereby the risk of tearing the slot end can be reduced. Of course, other suitable geometries are conceivable in addition to a rounding of the slot end, which avoid the tearing of the slot end in the inner bottom inside or at least reduce.
Other important features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims, from the drawings and from the associated figure description with reference to the drawings.
It is understood that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the particular combination given, but also in other combinations or in isolation, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Fig. 3). Fig. 3) aufweist. In Fig. 1, an
The said

At their
The
As is further apparent from FIGS. 1 to 4, a
The inventive connection between the
