Abstract

The present invention relates to an adaptable collapsible rail for installation on roofs, eaves, or other places, the spikes attached to which prevent birds from landing and roosting in the area protected by the rail. The bird inhibitor according to the invention is characterized by the bottom rail being perforated in such a way that, by using the spike installation holes on the centre or edge lines of the bottom component, and/or specific types of spike, it is possible to create bird inhibitors that are oriented in different directions, or are of different sizes. The invention is also characterized by the fact that, by using either all, or only some of the perforations, bird inhibitors with different spike densities can be created.

Description

Bird-Inhibitor Rail
Description
The rail according to the invention, which forms a bird inhibitor, is designed in such a way that it can be adapted by altering the location, orientation, or type of the spikes.
The bottom component (1) is manufactured from weather-resistant aluminium while the spikes (2) inserted through the bottom component are manufactured from spring-steel wire. Beneath the bottom component (1), there can be an additional bottom component (3), which insulates the bird- inhibitor rail from the installation base. The perforation pattern (4) of the bottom component (1) continues endlessly and the individual holes (5) are made precisely according to the thickness of the spike (2) so that the spike (2) stands firmly in the hole (5) and does not slide out of it.
The preferred embodiments of the invention are presented above. However, the invention is not restricted to them, but instead can vary in different ways within the scope of the Claims. Instead of aluminium, a rail made from some other metal, wood or wood derivative, concrete, glass- fibre, carbon-fibre, various plastics, or combinations of the above can be used as the bottom component (1). Instead of spring steel, the spikes (2) can be made from some other metal, glass- fibre, carbon-fibre, various plastics, or combinations of the above. The spikes (2) can be straight or ready oriented.
Part of the bird- inhibitor rail, or the entire rail itself can be surface-treated by painting, or by surfacing with a plastic material.
The length of the spikes (2) is not set and spikes (2) of different length and different materials can be used in the same rail.
Beneath the bottom component (1) there can also be another additional bottom component (3) made of a different or the same material, which remains between the actual bottom component (1) and the installation base in installation.
The bird-inhibitor rail's bottom component (1) and the additional bottom component (3) can be assembled from layers of different materials.
There can be ready-made attachment holes in the bottom component (1) and additional bottom component (3), for screw installation or other forms of installation. The bird-inhibitor rail can also be installed without the additional bottom component. In the following, the invention is examined in greater detail, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which
Figure 1 shows the perforation pattern of the bottom component,
Figure 2 shows the side profile of the bird-inhibitor rail,
Figure 3 shows the end profile of a bird-inhibitor rail, in which the spikes are on the centre line,
Figure 4 shows the end profile of a bird-inhibitor rail, in which the spikes are on the right-hand side line.
Figure 5 shows the end profile of a bird-inhibitor rail, in which the spikes are on both edges and in the centre.

Claims

Claims
1. A bird-inhibitor rail, characterized in that there is a bottom component (1) in the rail, which is perforated to allow spikes (2) to be inserted through it.
2. A bird-inhibitor rail according to Claim 1 , characterized in that the spikes (2) are bent from a unified wire or bar into a sharp U-shape, for insertion into holes (5), according to the required size, made at a standard distance from each other in the bottom component (1), in order to form, from a single wire or rod, two spikes (2) on the upper side of the bottom component (1).
3. A bird-inhibitor rail according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the bottom component (1) and/or the spikes (2) are manufactured from several layers of material.
4. A bird-inhibitor rail according to any of Claims 1- 3, characterized in that the spikes (2) can be installed in the bottom component (1) at the desired density and they can be oriented in the desired manner.
