Abstract

The blank for making cartons for blister packs has two base sections (4, 9) which overlap when it is assembled. These have cut-outs (5, 10), through which the blisters fit. An outer flap (12) fits over the cut-outs : An independent claim is included for a carton assembled from the blank.

Description

The present invention relates to a blank for a cardboard packaging for blisters according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, it relates to a packaging produced therewith.

Blisters are often loosely packaged as strips in plain cardboard boxes. The disadvantage with this type of packaging is that the blisters can be easily separated from the box. Thus, apart from the name of the product printed on the blister, the information on the carton and the accompanying leaflet, if any, will be lost. There is therefore an interest in packaging in which blisters are, so to speak, inseparably associated with the packaging.

A blank for such a package exists in. Essentially from a board web, which is divided by kink lines into different sections. The larger sections form the bottom and top surfaces, the narrower sections the side surfaces of the packaging, which essentially has the shape of a flat cuboid. At one end of the track, two sections, the size of a floor area, are connected directly over a crease line to be laid one on top of the other. The outermost is provided with holes in the arrangement and size of the chambers of the blister pack. The second, more inner portion is provided with windows that are breakable by a circumferential perforation and also have substantially the arrangement and size of the chambers of the blister. The blister is placed with the underside on the latter section, the perforated section folded thereon and the two sections glued together to the blister between to fix these two sections. The packaging is completed by the other sections is wrapped around these blister holder with kinking at the respective bend lines. The EP-A-0 940 353 specifies a cut constructed according to this principle. In particular, two individual sections or pairs of sections are indicated, which are stacked on a crease line, wherein a blister is enclosed between each two sections. Likewise a packing with admission for a blister on this principle is from the EP-A-1 323 635 known. The special feature of the latter packaging is the self-locking closure.

However, this known embodiment has the disadvantage that the resulting package left and right, i. on the narrow sides, is open, so that a leaflet would fall out. Information, etc., can therefore only be applied to the blank itself, thereby reducing the flexibility of changing this information and increasing the cost of changes. Another disadvantage is that the package is opened by being wound up, which is more cumbersome for the user than access to a normal cardboard box.

Other disadvantages are:

• Lack of child safety, as among other things at the front sides open. The packaging is therefore often packed in an additional outer packaging, resulting in further effort.
• The blank must be placed flat in the packaging machine. The machine must form the packaging from the blank and insert the blisters. This manipulation requires special, expensive and large machines.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a blank for the manufacture of a blister package which provides a closed space.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a blank for a package for a blister in which access to the product is possible in a manner similar to a loose product box.

A blank which at least solves the first object is given in claim 1. The other claims indicate preferred embodiments and thus manufacturable packaging.

Accordingly, the blank according to the invention in a first variant consists essentially of a strip of the packaging material, in particular cardboard, on which the sections for bottom surfaces, cover surfaces and right and left side walls are arranged side by side. At the extending in the longitudinal direction of the blank sides of these sections, which later limit the left and right narrow side, locking tabs are arranged. They allow closing the left and right side surface by gluing or nesting. Overall, so that an all-round closed packaging can be produced, whereby the addition of an easily modifiable leaflet is possible. In addition, access to the products is only possible if the leaflet has been removed beforehand, which draws attention to the note.

Since the products in the blister must be pushed down, it is still necessary to make the top of the package so that it can be opened to allow access to the blister chambers. This is preferably achieved in that the section which forms this upper side is provided with a perforation, so that the upper side can be torn open.

The blank 1 according to the invention Fig. 1 shows from top to bottom in the middle part of an inner front side wall 3, a fixing section 4 with openings 5, a rear side wall 6, a top portion 7, a portion for the outer front side wall 8, a bottom portion 9 with windows 10 along the perforations 11th are breakable, and finally a flap portion 12. The said sections are each separated by creasing lines 15, so that they can be bent in each case against each other for the preparation of the packaging. An exception is the bend line 16, which is particularly easy to bend formed by a perforation, since, as will be shown, the flap 12 is bent by 180 ° relative to the bottom 9.

The inner front side wall 3 has a slot 18 of approximately elliptical shape. Below this is a slightly wider slot 19 at the edge of the fixing 4. The two slots 18, 19 are provided so that the lower part 21 of the tongue 22 can be inserted. The tongue 22 is part of the tear-open lid 24 which is formed by the perforation 25 in the upper side portion 7 and in the outer front side wall 8. However, the front edge 27 of the tongue 22 is separated from the lower side portion 9 by a cut, since it protrudes into the lower portion 9 through its round shape.

Left and right at the sections 6 to 9 left tabs 30 and right tabs 31 are formed. They are placed on each other in the manufacture of the packaging and glued together to form the left and right side wall, thus forming a package sealed on all sides.
When closing the package, a blister 35 is placed on the bottom portion 9. The blister is to be arranged so that its product chambers 36 come to rest over the windows 10, so that by pressing from above on the chambers 36 of the respective contents can be pressed down through the window 10 out, this along the perforation 11 out to get broken. It lies with the packaging closed above the lower side portion 9. Its openings 5 correspond to the arrangement and size of the chambers of the blister, so that they protrude upward through the openings 5, whereby the blister in the fixed correct position and on the other hand, the blister chambers are accessible for pushing out the contents from above.

The flap 12 is intended to be in Fig. 1 to be folded back on the lower side portion 9 and in this position by a hotmelt 33, which acts as a pressure-sensitive adhesive at room temperature, to be held.

A section through the closed box shows Fig. 2 , Therein, the blister 35 can be seen, the chambers 36 project upwardly through the apertures 5 in the fixing section 4 therethrough. The blister 35 is sandwiched between the fixing portion 4 and the lower surface portion 9. The lower side section 9 is fastened by adhesive 38 on the fixing section 4. The flap 12 is shown projecting down. By simply pressing on the hotmelt 33, it can be re-applied to the lower side portion 9, which, among other things already covered windows 10 are covered.

Obviously, therefore, the packaging 32 also offers the advantage that it is easier to open, namely simply by tearing open a lid, but it is re-closable. This mode of operation also resembles very well-known box-shaped packaging for bulk-packaged products in a piece form.

Another embodiment of the invention is in the Fig. 3 and 4 in a representation analogous to Fig. 1 and 2 shown. The matching parts, which also bear the same reference numerals, therefore need not be explained.

In contrast to the first embodiment, the blank 45 of this embodiment has no flap portion 12, but an additional flap 47 subsequent to the lower side portion 9. Between the flap 47 and the lower side portion 9 is a normal crease line 48. As in Fig. 4 to see the tab 47 is glued when closing the package 49 by rolling the blank 45 outside on the rear side wall 6 to close the package.

Although this second variant does not provide the additional coverage of the break-out window 10, but an additional adhesive surface between the rear side wall 6 and the tab 47, which in particular in thicker blisters or blisters covering almost the entire surface of the lower sections 4 and 9 , may be important because then the area available for the adhesive 38 is smaller.

The Fig. 5/6 and 7/8 (Each view of a blank 50, 51 and section through the manufacturable packaging 80, 81) show a third bez. fourth embodiment, which largely corresponds to those of Fig. 1 / 2 bez. 3/4 and as far as wearing the same design. In contrast to the last-mentioned embodiments, these third and fourth embodiments have a nest portion 52 which is arranged between the outer, front side wall 8 and the lower side portion 9 with the break-away windows 10. Adhesive tabs 54, 55 are present on the nest section 52 and replace the adhesive tabs 30, 31 on the underside section 9. Essential to the nest section 52 is the large-area recess 56. It serves to receive the blister bottom of a blister pack and thus additionally fix the blister pack. Since the nest portion 52 also has a thickness which is preferably comparable to that of the bottom plate 58 (see Fig. 6, 8 ) of a blister, the portions which serve to form the blister mount (bottom portion 9, nest portion 52 and fixing portion 4) can be glued together flat and without tension.

The third and fourth embodiments just described, as in FIGS Fig. 5 to 8 shown designed for a blister with other arrangements of the chambers 36. However, the arrangement of the blister chambers provided breakable windows 10 and openings 5 is irrelevant to the invention. The flap 12 of the embodiment according Fig. 5 and 6 is still equipped with a gripping tongue 59 to facilitate the unfolding of the flap portion 12.

Fig. 9 shows in section how the packages are delivered to a packaging machine according to the preceding embodiments, using the example of a packaging according to Fig. 5 , The bond between the inner front side wall and the outer front side wall is already running, so that the body of the box part is already preformed. The side adhesive tabs (not visible) and the bottom portion 9 are still flat. The closure flap 12 is already folded over in its position relative to the lower side portion 9. In the Fig. 9 illustrated flattened shape, the packaging can be filled in a generally conventional, but adapted to the packaging packaging machine. The flattened packages are taken out of the magazine one by one. The side walls 6 and 8 are erected and the contents (description) are filled from the sides and these closed. Then, the blister is applied to the fixing portion 4, wherein the blister chambers 36 protrude through the openings 5 therethrough. By being able to prefabricate the packaging according to the invention by largely preforming and gluing the box part, it is thus possible to use conventional packaging machines, although adapted to this type of packaging. In particular, these packaging machines are also smaller than machines, which in addition to the described manipulations also form and glue the box part.

• Die Fenster 10 werden offen ausgeführt, so dass der Benutzer beim Herausdrücken nicht den Widerstand zum Ausbrechen der Fenster 10 überwinden muss. Insbesondere bei der Ausführung mit Klappe 12 ist dennoch die Unterseite der Blister durch die Klappe 12 geschützt.
• Die Klappe 12 kann mit einem Siegel zum Erkennen einer Erstöffnung versehen werden.
• Die Klebelaschen 30, 31 können anders an den verschiedenen Abschnitten angeordnet sein, soweit die Funktion, durch Übereinanderlegen von wenigstens zwei Laschen und Verkleben die jeweilige Stirnseite zum Verschliessen, gewahrt bleibt. Insbesondere können sich in der dritten und vierten Variante Klebelaschen am Bodenabschnitt 9 statt am Nestabschnitt befinden.

Claims (9)

1. One-piece blank (1, 45, 50, 51) for forming a box-shaped package (32, 49) for the fixed reception of at least one blister (35),

   - the one-piece blank (1, 45, 50, 51) comprising a first bottom section (4) and a second bottom section (9) in such an arrangement that they will come to lie one upon another in the assembled package (32, 49), and the first section (4) being provided with at least one cutout (5),

   - the second bottom section (9) having cutouts or breakable windows (11),

   - at least two side wall sections (6, 8) and a top side section (7) being provided,

   - first (30) and second (31) flaps being provided on opposite sides of the blank (1, 45, 50, 51) on the sections (6, 8; 9; 7) for the side walls, the bottom, and the top side,

   characterised in that

   - the at least two side wall sections (6, 8) and the top side section (7) are located between the first and the second bottom section (4, 9), the top side of the package (32, 49) being so designed that it can be opened,

   - so that during the assembly of the package (32, 49), the first and second bottom section (4, 9) can be laid one upon another,

   the blister (35) being placeable between the first and the second bottom sections (4, 9) such that its chambers (36) project through the first bottom section (4), and respective first and second flaps (30, 31) being placeable one upon another and gluable to one another to form a box-shaped package (32, 49) that is closed on all sides.
2. Blank (1, 45, 50, 51) according to claim 1, characterised in that a tear-open closure (24) is formed in the top side section (7).
3. Blank (1, 45, 50, 51) according to claim 2, characterised in that the tear-open closure (24) has a tongue (22) formed thereon that is separated from one of the adjoining side wall sections (6, 8) by perforation lines (25), and the side wall section (3) that in the package is located below the side wall section (8) with the tongue (22) is provided with an inserting opening (18) that allows inserting at least a substantial part (21) of the tongue (22) in order to be able to reclose the package (32, 49) after tearing open the closure (24) by inserting the tongue (22) into the inserting opening (18).

Blank (50, 51) according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that between the first bottom section (4) and the second bottom section (9), a nest section (52) is arranged as a third bottom section with a recess (56), the recess (56) being adapted to receive the base of a blister (35), and the first bottom section (4), the nest section (52), and the second bottom section (9) are placeable upon one another by folding.
8. Box-shaped package (32, 49, 80, 81), produced from a blank (1, 45, 50, 51) according to one of claims 1 to 7, the package being closed on all sides.
9. Box-shaped package (32, 49, 80), produced from a blank (1, 50) according to claim 5, characterised in that between the folding panel section (12) and the second bottom section (9), a pressure-sensitive hot melt (33) is arranged in order to be able to removably attach the folding panel (12) to the lower bottom section (9).
