Abstract

The lavatory has a sanitary compartment (7) delimiting a working zone (17) that is bordered by a lateral wall. The sanitary compartment is equipped with a W-C basin (8) hooked in a partition (11), which separates the compartment from a service place. The W-C basin extends along an axis to form an angle with the lateral wall for arranging the basin and the wall for access by a handicapped person.

Description

The invention relates to public health.

More specifically, it concerns a public health service conformed to be accessible to disabled people traveling in a wheelchair.

As a rule, sanitary facilities of this type include a sanitary compartment defining a maneuvering area - in which the disabled person must be able to rotate his chair - bordered by a side wall and a partition separating the sanitary compartment of a room technical, the sanitary compartment being equipped with a toilet bowl anchored in the partition wall on the side of the side wall.

The problem of disabled people's access to the W-C basin has been known for a long time, and many solutions have been proposed to solve it, taking into account the cost and congestion requirements.

Indeed, the public toilets are of a reduced volume, on the one hand to allow their transport by road convoy, and on the other hand to minimize the urban space which is devolved to them.

Several solutions have already been proposed by the plaintiff herself.

For example, the French patent application FR-A-2,805,293 proposes a sanitary public whose toilet bowl, circular, is placed in a sanitary zone adjacent to the maneuvering area.

This solution has been entirely satisfactory because access to the W-C bowl for wheelchair users is indeed facilitated.

However, this solution required an in-depth review of the sanitary structure, which is extremely expensive.

Another solution, presented in the French patent application FR-A-2 763 086 in the name of the applicant, provides two adjacent toilet bowls, which the person can select according to his habits.

This solution, like the previous one, is completely satisfactory to users because it allows easy access for people with disabilities.

However, the juxtaposition of two cuvettes poses congestion problems. In particular, it is not possible to have a sink in the immediate vicinity of the cuvettes, so it is necessary to modify the water circuit.

The document DE 39 38 784 A discloses a sanitary comprising a sanitary compartment defining a maneuvering area bordered by a first side wall and a second side wall and a partition separating the sanitary compartment of a technical room.

The document DE 298 09 686 U describes a wheelhouse sanitary facility adapted for disabled persons in wheelchairs, in which the wheelchair can be arranged in front of a washbasin to allow access to the toilet bowl. The toilet bowl is anchored in a partition which forms an obtuse angle with the adjacent side wall, so that the toilet bowl may be relatively close to the junction area between said toilet bowl supporting partition and said side wall.

The document DE 298 17 742 U describes a sanitary train wagon similar to the aforementioned sanitary in which the toilet bowl is attached to a partition which forms an obtuse angle with the adjacent side wall.

In addition, none of the sanitary knowledge of the inventors allows dual access (right, left) to the bowl for people with disabilities in wheelchairs, while giving them the opportunity to store their chair in the immediate vicinity of the bowl, d one side as the other.

The invention aims to remedy in particular the aforementioned drawbacks, by proposing a simplified use sanitary, which ensures easy access to disabled people without, however, requiring a major change in the general structure of health.

For this purpose, the invention provides a public health including a sanitary compartment delimiting a maneuvering area bordered by a first side wall, a second side wall and a partition separating the sanitary compartment of a technical room, the sanitary compartment being equipped a toilet bowl anchored in the partition wall on the side of the second side wall, sanitary in which the toilet bowl extends along an axis forming an angle with said second side wall, so as to arrange between the bowl and the second side wall access for a disabled person in a wheelchair. The W-C pan is at a distance from the first sidewall sufficient to provide access between the W-C pan and the first sidewall for a wheelchair disabled person.

In this way, access to disabled people in wheelchairs is easier and can be done on both sides of the bowl, without the need to change the depth of the sanitary structure.

The distance separating the W-C bowl from the first side wall is preferably at least 80 cm.

According to one embodiment, the angle formed between the axis of the bowl W-C and the side wall is between 20 ° and 70 °, and preferably equal to 35 °.

For example, the cuvette is mounted in the partition wall so that the axis of the W-C pan is substantially perpendicular to said partition wall.

In addition, the sanitary having a bottom wall located opposite the partition wall, it will arrange sanitary so that the distance between the end of the toilet bowl of this bottom wall is at least 80 cm, so as to release sufficient space for the movements of the disabled person in a wheelchair in front of the toilet bowl.

According to a preferred embodiment, the sanitary compartment is equipped with a sink that adjoins the bowl of W-C opposite the side wall.

A recess can be provided under the pedestal washbasin of a disabled person in a wheelchair for ease of access for that person at the sink.

Moreover, in order to allow its cleaning, the bowl of W-C is for example mounted on a retractable support in the partition.

In addition, it is possible to design the health in a modular way, the partition wall is, at least partly reported to the benefit of ease of industrialization sanitary.

On the figure 1 is represented sanitary 1 intended to be placed on the public road to meet the needs of passersby. As will be seen below, this sanitary 1 is designed to allow easy access to people with disabilities in wheelchairs.

This sanitary 1 comprises a frame 2 of generally prismatic shape, which comprises two side walls 3, 4 terminated and connected at their ends by two bottom walls 5, 6.

As is visible on the figure 1 sanitary 1 is compartmentalized: it includes a sanitary compartment 7, equipped with a toilet bowl 8 and a wash basin 9, and a technical room 10 separate from the sanitary compartment 7 by a partition 11 which prohibits the public l access to the technical room 10 from the compartment sanitary 7.

In the technical room 10 are the equipment necessary for the operation of the sanitary 1, namely, in particular: the water pump or pumps (not shown), the exhaust ducts 12 of the sink and / or the toilet bowl 8, and an electrical cabinet 13 enclosing, in addition to the electrical connections, the automatic control system for the sanitary operation 1.

One of the side walls of the frame 2, called the front wall, is pierced with a first opening 14 equipped with a door (not shown) and forming an entrance giving access (possibly limited by a toll system) to the sanitary compartment. 7, while the opposite wall 4 is blind.

The bottom wall 5 delimiting the technical room 7 is, for its part, pierced by a second opening 15 equipped with a pivoting door 16 (which could be sliding) and forming an entrance giving access (closed to the public) to the technical room 10, while the opposite bottom wall 6 is blind.

The door 16 of the technical room 10, which has certain features presented below, will be described later. For now, let's go back to the sanitary compartment 7.

This compartment 7 delimits a maneuvering area 17, bordered by the blind side wall 4, the front wall 3, the blind bottom wall 6, and the partition wall 11, and equipped with a floor (not shown) covering the pipes. 18 of a water spray soil cleaning system, which connect the technical room 10 to the blind bottom wall 6, as shown in FIG. figure 1 (this cleaning system will not be described in detail).

As is visible on the figures 1 and 4 the partition wall 11 is in two parts 19, 20. It thus comprises a first panel 19 which forms or supports the washbasin 9, and a second panel 20 which supports the toilet bowl 8.

The first panel 19 is located on the side of the front wall 3, near the entrance 14, while the second panel 20, which adjoins the first 19, is on the side of the blind side wall 4.

In other words, the toilet bowl 8 is on the side of the blind side wall 4, while the lavatory 9 adjoins the bowl 8 opposite the blind side wall 4, that is to say on the side of the entrance 14.

This provision, very convenient for people with disabilities in a wheelchair, allows to group the evacuation pipes on the same side of the sanitary 1 (in the technical room 10), to the benefit of the compactness of the latter and its simplicity design as well as manufacturing.

As is visible on the figure 1 , the first panel 19 extends substantially perpendicularly to the side walls 3, 4. It has, in its upper part, a flat front 21 housing, on the side of the technical room 10, the technical part of the sink (soap dispensing, feeding water, possibly dryer - equipment not shown). In its lower part, the panel 19 forms a recess 22 in which the washbasin 9 extends.

Above the washbasin 9, the recess 22 forms a recess 23 providing sufficient space for the hands of the person who wishes to wash them, while below the washbasin 9, the recess 22 forms a recess 24 ( figure 4 ) providing sufficient room for the legs of a disabled person in a wheelchair 25:

As for the second panel 20, it comprises an upper part 26 which forms a door allowing partial (forbidden to the public) access to the technical room 10, in particular to the sanitary equipment of the toilet bowl 8 and the electrical cabinet 13, and a lower part 27 in which is anchored the toilet bowl 8.

More precisely, the bowl 8 is mounted on a retractable support 28 capable, during cleaning of the sanitary compartment 7, of tipping inside a washing box 29 placed behind the panel 20, on the side of the technical room 10 ( figure 1 ).

The bowl 8 extends along an axis X, perpendicular to the panel 20, which forms an angle α with the blind side wall 4. In other words, the second panel 20 is offset angularly with respect to a plane perpendicular to the blind side wall 4 .

In other words, the toilet bowl 8, although anchored on the side of the blind side wall 4 (to facilitate access, on the opposite side, for a disabled person in a wheelchair), extends (following its axis) towards the center of the maneuvering area 17.

Thus, there is provided between the bowl 8 and the blind side wall 4 a space for access to the bowl 8 on this side, for a disabled person in a wheelchair 25.

In practice, various arrangements make it possible to optimize the space available according to the configuration of the sanitary compartment 7.

Thus, it will be possible to orient the bowl of W-C 8 so that the angle α formed between the axis X of the bowl of W-C 8 and the side wall 4 is between 20 ° and 70 °.

An angle α of about 35 ° (as shown in FIG. figure 1 ) represents a good compromise.

In this way, wheelchairs 25 are allowed to access the bowl 8 both from the left (here on the side of the entrance 14) and from the right (here on the side of the blind side wall 4, and this in roughly equivalent conditions ( figure 1 ).

Specifically, there is sufficient space between the toilet bowl 8 and the side wall 4 for the chair to be parked in the immediate vicinity and to the right of the toilet bowl 8 (as shown in FIG. figure 1 ) and that the person can easily move from his chair to the bowl, 8 and vice versa. One (or more) support bar (possibly retractable) anchored in the wall 20 near the bowl 8 can help the disabled person in these maneuvers.

This results in increased comfort as well as better safety conditions for the disabled, and in a maneuvering area 17 which does not need to increase the area.

The space provided between the bowl 8 and the opening 14 is also chosen sufficient for the chair to be stored there momentarily under the same conditions.

In addition, it is possible to adjust the distance d between the end of the bowl of W-C 8 of the blind bottom wall 6 according to the volume of the space that is to be arranged between them.

This distance d will be chosen at least equal to 80 cm, which provides relatively easy access to the bowl of W-C 8 side of the side wall 4. A distance of between 95 cm and 125 cm however allows an even more comfortable access.

In practice, as shown on the figure 1 , the evolution circle C (with a diameter greater than 150 cm here), which ensures complete freedom of movement for people with disabilities in wheelchairs (circle here drawn in phantom), is strictly included in the maneuvering area 17.

It should be noted that the distance separating the edge of the bowl 8 from the side wall 3 (that is to say, in practice, from the opening 14, which is in fact opposite the the bowl 8) is also chosen greater than 80 cm, for the benefit of comfort and sanitary safety. The chair of a disabled person can thus be easily stored on the left side of the bowl 8.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the partition wall 11 is preferably at least partly reported.

In this case, the partition wall 11 being in two parts 19, 20, it is possible to removably mount at least one of the panels 19, 20, or both, as provided in the embodiment. illustrated on the figure 1 .

Thus, the first panel 19, for example made of concrete, is here mounted on a base 31 formed in the floor of sanitary 1, then screwed to the front wall 3.

As for the upper 26 and lower 27 parts of the second panel 20, they can be fixed on vertical uprights, one of which is adjacent to the first panel 19, and the second of which is adjacent to the blind side wall 4. As we We saw above, the upper part 26 - preferably metal - being intended to form a door, it is sufficient for this purpose to articulate on one of the amounts.

This results in a modular design sanitary 1 which, based on a single frame 2, can, if necessary, be equipped with a bowl of W-C 8 inclined as described above. In addition, in case of degradation, it is possible to replace one and / or the other panel 19, 20.

In another aspect, and as shown in the figures, the sanitary 1 comprises, besides the sanitary compartment 7 in which the bowl 8 satisfies all the needs of the public, a urinal 32 separated from the sanitary compartment 7 and accessible from the outside of the sanitary 1, independently of it.

In this way, the most pressing male needs can be satisfied without the men are forced to use the sanitary compartment 7, which would impose a relatively long immobilization, and saves both the water and electricity necessary for the operation and cleaning of the sanitary compartment 7 .

As is visible on the figure 1 , this urinal 32 is accessible through a second opening 15, separate from the first opening 14 for access to the sanitary compartment 7, so that two people can meet their needs simultaneously.

In order to make the best use of the available space, the urinal 32 extends, at least in part, into the technical room 10 which, in fact, is occupied only daily, the time to evacuate the waste ( essentially paper, newspapers, cans) drained by the floor wash water (this water accumulating in a reserve 33 provided for this purpose behind the first panel 19), and occasionally the time to perform necessary repairs or checks on sanitary equipment 1.

In practice, we take advantage of the door 16 which closes the technical room 10, door 16 in which the urinal 32 is formed at least in part.

In fact, the urinal 32 comprises, on the one hand, a collecting basin 34 which encroaches on the floor of the technical room 10, as well as a front wall 35, against which the men will urinate, and which is formed in the door 16 itself of the technical room 10 (this door 16 is shown closed on the figures 1 , 2 , 3 , 6 and 7 and open to figures 4 and 5 ).

As is visible on the figure 1 , the basin 34 has a semi-circular contour, while the front wall 35, which extends along the contour of the basin 34, is substantially cylindrical. In other words, the wall frontal 35 is in the form of a vertically oriented gutter.

Preferably, and as shown on the figure 7 , the pelvis 34 and the front wall 35 constitute two separate elements spaced from each other, the gap 36 thus formed avoiding friction during the opening of the door 16 while being narrow enough not to generate turbulence in the flow of the cleaning liquid 37 (in practice, running water, possibly with added detergents), so that it is drained in a laminar manner towards the basin 34.

Moreover, as is visible on the figure 7 , the basin 34 has a conical bottom 38 (with a cone, however, very open) whose lowest zone is pierced by a hole 39 for the flow of the liquid 37 towards a discharge pipe 40 (only sketched on the figure 7 ).

The basin 34 further comprises a rim 41 of semicircular profile which defines a housing 42 for a grid or a grating 43 adapted to support the weight of a person while letting the liquid capable of splashing. This results in good hygiene of the urinal 32.

In addition, as shown on the figure 7 , sanitary 1 is equipped with a waterway 44 assigned to the urinal 32, designed to form an aqueous curtain 45 flowing on the surface 46 of the front wall 35.

More specifically, the waterway 44 is shaped so that the front wall 35 is covered with an aqueous curtain 45 on an angular portion (centered) only of its surface 46, to avoid the risk of deflection of the outflow of sanitary 1 ( figure 7 ).

For this purpose, the waterway 44 comprises a reservoir water 47 which, overlying the urinal 32, forms an inclined weir 48 which has a flap 49 matching the surface 46 of the front wall 35 while providing a gap 50 through which the water 37 in the reservoir flows. 47.

It is conceivable to provide a manual or automatic control valve mechanism (for example equipped with a photocell detecting the presence and / or absence of a user) which will trigger the emptying of the reservoir 47 if necessary and its refilling in water.

However, it is possible to continuously supply the reservoir 47 and to pour it permanently into the urinal 32. Indeed, a permanent flow avoids the drying of the surface of the front wall 35.

In fact, it has been found that with dewatering of the wall 35, capillary phenomena appear which prevent a uniform distribution of water on the surface 46 of the front wall 35, the water tending, as and when measure of its flow, to regroup in a thin central net, to the detriment of the quality of the evacuation.

In order to further promote this distribution and to maintain the flow in the form of a stable aqueous curtain 45, the front wall 35 is preferably coated with a hydrophilic product which promotes a laminar flow of water against the wall 35.

This coating can be renewed periodically, or be in the form of an attached film pressed against the surface 46 of the front wall 35.

Such products are commercially available.

Of course, it is possible to adjust the positioning and shape of the weir 48 according to the desired flow rate.

It has been found that a gap 50 of a few millimeters, for example 2 millimeters, ensures a flow that is both laminar and of a sufficient flow rate. to allow rapid and efficient evacuation of urine.

In the example shown on the figure 7 , the filling of the tank 47 is permanently ensured by a supply pipe 51 (simply sketched on the figure 7 ) connected to a lid 52 which closes the tank 47 in its upper part.

Although it is envisaged to allow free access to the urinal 32, it is also planned to limit access, if necessary by means of a toll system.

So, as shown on the figure 6 Sanitary 1 can be equipped with a manoeuvrable gate (either automatically or manually) between a closed position ( figure 6 ) in which it prevents access to the urinal and an open position (not shown) in which, for example when the toll has been set, it allows the passage of a person.

In addition, for the sake of comfort, one can equip the sanitary 1, in front of the urinal 32, a running board 54 which, in the extension of the grating 43, increases the useful floor area of the urinal 32.

It can also equip the sanitary 1 an awning 55 over the urinal 32 and designed to protect the user from the weather.

Claims (10)

1. Public toilet (1) comprising a toilet compartment (7) delimiting a manoeuvring zone (17) bordered by a first side wall (3), a second side wall (4) and by a partition (11) separating the toilet compartment (7) from a service room (10), the toilet compartment (7) being equipped with a toilet bowl (8) anchored in the separating partition (11),
   the toilet bowl (8) extending along an axis (X) forming an angle (α) with said side wall (4), so as to provide between the bowl (8) and the second side wall (4) an access on one side of the toilet bowl for a disabled person in a wheelchair,
   characterised in that the toilet bowl (8) is situated at a sufficient distance (d') from the first side wall (3) to provide between the toilet bowl (8) and the first side wall (3) an additional access on the other side of the toilet bowl for a disabled person in a wheelchair.
2. Toilet (1) according to claim 1, in which the distance (d') separating the toilet bowl (8) from the first side wall (3) is at least 80 cm.
3. Toilet (1) according to claim 1 or 2, in which the angle (α) formed between the axis (X) of the toilet bowl and the second side wall (4) is between 20° and 70°.
4. Toilet (1) according to claim 2, in which the angle (α) formed between the axis (X) of the toilet bowl (8) and the second side wall (4) is approximately 35°.
5. Toilet (1) according to any of claims 1 to 4, in which the axis (X) of the toilet bowl (8) is essentially perpendicular to the separating partition (11).
6. Toilet (1) according to any of claims 1 to 5, comprising a back wall (6) situated opposite the separating partition (11), and in which the distance (d) separating the extremity of the toilet bowl (8) from this back wall (6) is at least 80 cm.
7. Toilet (1) according to any of claims 1 to 6, in which the toilet compartment (7) is equipped with a washbasin (9) near the toilet bowl (8), opposite the second side wall (4).
8. Toilet (1) according to claim 7, in which is equipped under the washbasin (9) a recess (24) for the legs of a disabled person in a wheelchair.
9. Toilet (1) according to any of claims 1 to 8, in which the toilet bowl (8) is mounted on a retractable support (28) in the separating partition (11) to allow cleaning of the bowl (8).
10. Toilet (1) according to any of claims 1 to 9, in which the separating partition (11) is at least partially a separate insert.
