Schließeinrichtungen werden bei Schließanlagen von Büro- oder Wohnhäusern häufig eingesetzt und sind beispielsweise aus der Praxis bekannt. Bei der bekannten Schließeinrichtung können mehrere Personen jeweils einen Transponder zum Entriegeln einer oder mehrerer Türen besitzen. Um Berechtigungen des Transponders zum Ansteuern der jeweiligen Sperreinrichtung und damit zum Entriegeln der die Sperreinrichtung aufweisenden Tür zu programmieren, wird bei der bekannten Schließanlage ein Programmier-Transponder eingesetzt. Dieser Programmier-Transponder wird mit der zu programmierenden Sperreinrichtung verbunden und schaltet die Sperreinrichtung in einen Modus, in welchem sie bereit ist, neue Werte in den Codespeicher einzulesen. Anschließend wird ein neuer Nutzer-Transponder mit der Sperreinrichtung verbunden. Dessen Code wird ausgelesen und in dem Speicher der Sperreinrichtung abgelegt. Anschließend lässt sich die Sperreinrichtung mit dem neuen Nutzer-Transponder ansteuern. Zum Löschen eines beispielsweise verloren gegangenen Nutzer-Transponders wird ein Lösch-Transponder mit der Sperreinrichtung verbunden. Dieser Lösch-Transponder löscht den Inhalt des Codespeichers der Sperreinrichtung. Anschließend können diejenigen Transponder, mit denen die Sperreinrichtung weiterhin zu entriegeln sein soll, wieder mit dem Programmier-Transponder in den Codespeicher eingegeben werden. Die Bedienung der Schließeinrichtung ist in der Regel in einem Handbuch abgelegt, in welchem ausführlich beschrieben ist, wann welcher Transponder für welchen Vorgang in welcher Zeit einzusetzen ist. B. eine Liste der letzten Schließereignisse, die nach Einführung eines Funktions- oder Abfrageschlüssels vorgelesen wird und beispielsweise beinhaltet, mit welchem Schlüssel wann geschlossen wurde oder ob mit nicht berechtigten Schlüsseln Zutrittsversuche unternommen wurden. Wird bei der Nummer des zu löschenden Nutzer-Transponders 4 der Lösch-Schlüssel 9 abgezogen und statt dessen der Eingabe-Schlüssel 8 in den Knaufzylinder 1 eingeführt, kann ein akustischer Warnhinweis erfolgen, dass tatsächlich dieser Nutzer-Schlüssel 7 gelöscht wird, wenn die Löschung durch Neueinführen mit dem Eingabe-Schlüssel 8 bestätigt wird. Nach der Bestätigung mit dem Eingabe-Schlüssel 8 erfolgt die Löschung des betreffenden Nutzer-Transponders 4 und ein entsprechender akustischer Hinweis.
