Abstract

A sliding door panel hangs from an overhead rail (1) which is in turn attached to the surrounding frame or ceiling by a strip (2) by a bolt (4). Claims (5)

  1. A suspension mechanism for sliding doors having at least one leaf, which are movable by carriages arranged at their upper surface in a guide track (1), which may be fastened extending horizontally beneath a ceiling and/or to a wall by means of a number of fastening plates (2), wherein each fastening plate (2) is of U-shaped construction by virtue of a bent portion (2c) and holes (2h) are formed in the bent portion (2c) for wall fastening and holes (2d) are formed in a first plate-like support section (2i) for ceiling fastening and wherein the connection to the guide track (1) is effected by coupling pegs (4), which engage with a throat section (4a) of smaller diameter into an elongate hole-like opening (2e) and produce a positive connection with a head region (4b) of larger diameter, characterised in that the fastening plate (2) has a second plate-like support section (2b), whereby both the first support section (2i) and also the second support section (2b) are each provided with an elongate hole-like opening (2e) for the selective connection of either the first support section (2i) or the second support section (2b) to the guide track (1) by means of a coupling peg (4).
  2. A suspension mechanism as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the holes (2d) in the first support section (2i) are arranged with a spacing from one another, which is larger than the breadth of the guide track (1) and that the second elongate hole-like opening (2e) is formed in the second support section (2b) transversely to the longitudinal direction of the fastening plate (2).
  3. A suspension mechanism as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the elongate hole-like opening (2e) formed in the first support section (2i) merges into the edge of the first support section (2i) by means of a conical broadening portion (2f).
  4. A suspension mechanism as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that provided in the support section (2b, 2i) of each fastening plate (2) there is a respective threaded bore (2g) for the insertion of a lock screw (5).
  5. A suspension mechanism as claimed in at least one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that each coupling peg (4) including a throat section (4a) of smaller diameter and a head region (4b) of larger diameter is fastened to the guide track (1) with a screw (4c) or rivet.
