Definitions
- the present invention relates to a waste collecting device with one or more containers, in which waste can be collected, and a ventilation device, which is connected to the container and can be connected to an exhaust air or waste water system, for venting the container (s).
- the present invention relates to a corresponding method for collecting waste by introducing waste into a container and venting the container.
- Waste collection containers are therefore desirable which suppress or eliminate the unpleasant odors, particularly in the case of biological waste.
- containers are known from document DE 25 589 A1 which are equipped with activated carbon or biofilters.
- the exhaust air which the containers release into the surrounding area, is filtered accordingly.
- a waste container is also known from document JP 07-223703, to which an extractor fan is connected.
- a flexible hose connects the fan to a waste water pipe for a sink.
- a conventional odor trap or siphon is attached to the sink so that the exhaust air does not get through the sink.
- a disadvantage of this solution is that odors from the drainage system can get into the waste container when the fan is not switched on. Beyond that the constant running of the fan is associated with high energy consumption and the development of noise.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to optimize a waste collection device with a ventilation device.
- a waste collecting device with a ventilation device which can be connected to a storage device, in particular a kitchen cabinet, in which one or more containers can be accommodated, and to an exhaust air or waste water system, for ventilating the interior of the storage device.
- a waste collection device with a ventilation device, which can be connected to one or more containers and to an exhaust air or waste water system, for ventilation of the container or containers, the ventilation device having a valve device with which the flow of a medium into the / the container or the storage device can be prevented.
- a waste collection device with a ventilation device which can be connected to one or more containers or a storage device, in particular a kitchen cupboard, in which the container (s) can be accommodated, and to an exhaust air or waste water system, for ventilation of the / The container, wherein the ventilation device has a sensor device with which the ventilation of the container can be controlled or regulated.
- a time control is also possible, which can either be preselected by the operator or automatically preselected to ventilate the container (s).
- Corresponding methods are also proposed in which the internal or external ventilation of the container is controlled or regulated by a sensor device and / or a valve device prevents a medium from penetrating into the container through the ventilation device.
- the ventilation device preferably has a fan which can also be operated at intervals. It is advantageous if the fan is regulated and a sensor that detects a fermentation gas, water vapor and / or temperature supplies a corresponding control variable.
- the container (s) advantageously has a cover to which the ventilation device is connected. This means that when the container (s) is pulled out of a kitchen base cabinet, the cover including the ventilation device can remain stationary.
- a correspondingly stationary construction has advantages in terms of stability and tightness. The cover must not seal tightly with the container, i.e. A specific leak is required so that an air flow can be generated over the container (s).
- the valve device can comprise a non-return valve. This can prevent, for example, wastewater from the drain system from entering the tank via the ventilation device. This non-return valve also prevents gases or vapors from entering the tank from the drain or exhaust system.
- the valve device can be controlled electrically or mechanically, so that ventilation is carried out, for example, only at certain temperatures, pressures or the like. It is also conceivable to use a purely spring-loaded flap, which is closed in the idle state and is pressed open by the air pressure generated by the fan during ventilation.
- the waste collecting device thus has the advantage that when the waste is thrown in or the container is emptied, there is essentially no odor nuisance to the user. Venting the container (s) also has the advantage that the container needs to be emptied and cleaned less frequently. In addition, the waste dries out through aeration, so that mold does not appear as often. By venting the waste dries out, so that weight reduction is another advantage. In general, this can improve hygiene.
- the present invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, which represents a cross-sectional sketch through a waste collection device according to the invention.
- the drawing shows a kitchen cabinet 1, in which a sink 2 is integrated.
- a waste container 3 which is filled with waste 4.
- the sink 2 has a drain 5 in a known manner, to which a siphon 6 is connected. This is connected on the other side to a sewage system 7.
- the siphon 6 prevents gases and vapors from the drain system 7 from getting into the sink or the room air in the usual way.
- the container 3 has a lid or a cover 8. According to the invention, a ventilation system 9 is attached to this lid 8. With this ventilation system 9, the exhaust air can be drawn off from the container 3 into the drainage system 7, as shown by the arrows 10 and 11.
- the ventilation system can also be arranged at any point in the kitchen cabinet 1, so that a vacuum is generated in the entire kitchen cabinet 1, in which the container or containers 3 are placed, and the sucked-in air is discharged via the drainage system.
- the ventilation system 9 also has a fan 12 with which the exhaust air can be actively extracted from the container 3 or the interior of the kitchen cabinet 1.
- a sensor 13 detects fermentation gases, water vapor,. Pressure, temperature or the like. Instead of the sensor 13, an array of sensors can also be arranged in the container 3 or in the kitchen cupboard 1, with which a wide variety of parameters can be measured or detected.
- the sensor signal is used by the control electronics of the fan 12 as a control variable. In this way, the fan 12 can be switched on if, for example, the concentration of a specific vapor or gas or a combination of them exceeds a predetermined threshold. Thus, the fan 12 is only switched on when necessary, so that there is only a corresponding energy consumption and possibly a certain amount of noise when it is necessary.
- the senor could be dispensed with and a time control could be used, which guarantees interval operation that can be preselected manually. Possibly. the fan could also be operated permanently (continuous operation).
- the suction pipe 14 of the ventilation system 9 opens into the drain system 7 after the siphon 6. This prevents the gases and vapors of the waste container 3 from reaching the drain 5 of the wash basin 2. But not the gases and vapors of the Drainage system through the intake pipe 14 in the container 3 or, if it is open, in the ambient air, a check valve 15 is installed in the intake pipe 14. This also prevents waste water from entering the container 3 via the suction pipe 14. This penetration of waste water into the suction pipe 14 is primarily prevented by the fact that the suction pipe 14 is arranged higher than the drain pipe into which the suction pipe 14 opens.
- the check valve 15 is, as just described, arranged between the fan 12 and the outlet into the drainage system in the intake pipe 14. In principle, however, the check valve can also be arranged between the fan 12 and the container 3.
- the check valve 15 can also be replaced by a controlled or uncontrolled valve. Such a valve could also be controlled or regulated with the aid of the sensor system 13 or controlled via a time control or manually.
- the ventilation system 9 is essentially rigid and the container 3 is only pulled out from under the cover 8 for filling or emptying. However, it is also conceivable that the cover is not firmly connected to the suction pipe 14 and is pivoted from the container 3 when the container 3 is pulled out of the kitchen base cabinet 1.
- the ventilation system 9 could also be coupled to the container 3 at a location other than the cover 8. If this coupling point is close to the bottom of the container, this would have the advantage that, under certain circumstances, toxic gases and vapors that sink down into the container 3 could also be extracted.
