Claims (17)

  1. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge, having
    a) a rotatable drum (3) with a horizontal axis of rotation which surrounds a centrifuging space (11),
    b) a rotatable screw (5) arranged in the drum (3),
    c) at least one liquid discharge and at least one solids discharge, the liquid discharge being realized with a peeling disk (19) with a chamber (29) downstream of it,
    characterized in that
    d) the chamber (29) has an annular space (29) with a barrier and siphon disk (33) arranged therein,
    e) the chamber (29) being a hydro-hermetic barrier chamber (29) for sealing off the centrifuging space (11) with respect to its surroundings by means of a barrier liquid which is directly assigned a feed line (35) for the separate barrier liquid, which is independent of the material to be centrifuged, and
    f) the screw (1) has a second siphon disk (21) which extends radially outwards from the screw (5) into the centrifuging space (11).
  2. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to Claim 1, characterized in that the barrier chamber (29) is connected directly downstream of the peeling disk (19).
  3. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the second siphon disk (21) is arranged on the screw (2) in front of the solids discharge.
  4. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to Claim 3, characterized in that the second siphon disk (21) is arranged on the screw (2) in the conically narrowing region.
  5. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the feed line (35) and an outlet bore (37) open out into the annular space (29), allowing the barrier liquid to be continuously fed into and discharged from the barrier chamber (29).
  6. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the drum (3) and the screw (5) each have a substantially cylindrical section and a narrowing section, a chamber (17) with a diameter which is preferably smaller than that of the centrifuging space, in which the peeling disk (19) is arranged, adjoining the cylindrical section.
  7. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an annular shoulder (23) is arranged on the inner circumference of the chamber (17).
  8. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the chamber (17), on the side of the peeling disk (19) which is remote from the annular disk (23), extends radially inwards to a diameter which is smaller than the diameter of the screw (5), and in that the chamber (17) opens out into a passage (27) which is adjoined in the axial direction by the annular space (29), which opens out into an axial discharge passage (31) for barrier liquid, the internal diameter of this discharge passage (31) being smaller than that of the passage (27), so that barrier liquid which overflows from the barrier chamber (19) can be discharged through the discharge passage (31).
  9. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first barrier and siphon disk (33) is fitted or moulded perpendicularly onto the inner circumference of the chamber in the annular space (29) and extends from the inside radially outwards into the annular space (29).
  10. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the feed line (35) is arranged parallel to an inlet tube (7) for material to be centrifuged on the outer circumference thereof.
  11. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the outlet bore (37) leads radially outwards out of the drum (3) from the outer circumference of the annular space (29), preferably at an acute angle to the axis of rotation.
  12. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first siphon disk (21) and the annular shoulder (23) are adapted to one another in such a manner that when the centrifuge is operating a liquid level P1 is formed between them.
  13. Solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the peeling disk (19) is arranged in sealed fashion on the inlet tube (7), which is stationary in operation.
  14. Method for operating a solid-bowl screw centrifuge according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a separate barrier liquid, which is independent of the material to be centrifuged, is passed through a feed line (35) into a hydro-hermetic barrier chamber (29) for sealing off the centrifuging space (11) with respect to the surroundings.
  15. Method according to Claim 14, characterized in that the permanent discharge of barrier liquid results in continuous cleaning of the barrier chamber (29).
  16. Method according to Claim 14 or 15, characterized in that the pressure in the barrier chamber (29) is set by varying the diameter of the barrier and siphon disk (33).
  17. Method according to Claim 14, 15 or 16, characterized in that the pressure in the centrifuging space is up to 4 bar, in particular from 0.5 to 2.5 bar.
