Abstract

An electronic safety system for detecting a shaft break and interrupting the drive energy supply comprises at least one fixed in the longitudinal direction, with the shaft (1) rotating and on the inlet side (14) with a light source (18) connected to the measuring optical fiber (13). In the event of a shaft break, the measuring optical waveguide is severed, wherein the absence of light at the exit side (15) is registered by an optical sensor (19) and via an evaluation and control electronics (20, 21) as a signal for switching off the further energy supply to a Fuel shut-off valve (22) is used. The measuring light guide is fixed to a measuring sleeve (4) connected to the shaft at both ends.
