Description

The invention relates to a method for identifying and / or monitoring medical syringes, in particular pre-filled prefilled syringes and cartridges, during the production process or for later assignment to a production batch by means of a machine-readable label. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for carrying out the method.

US Pat. No. 6,189,195 and DE 2 020 886 show the labeling of syringes during or at the end of the production process.

In the manufacture or filling of prefilled syringes, in particular those intended for intramuscular or intravenous administration, it is crucial that the product in terms of Active substance, dosage, batch, date of manufacture and expiry date can be clearly identified. This means that a review and monitoring of each syringe not only during the production process, but also later, possibly even after the application of the syringe must be possible.

The invention is therefore an object of the invention to improve such a method so that during the entire production process, so starting with cleaning, filling, sterilization and packaging and then in the application of the syringe control and verification of belonging to the current batch and a unique Assignment to the active substance contained and the other relevant data in this context is possible.

This object is achieved by a method in which at the beginning of the production process, first preferably the syringe barrel is provided with the label, which allows a later unique identification of product, batch, dosage, filling and expiration date, and that then a Prüflesung with subsequent separation the spraying with not or incompletely readable or a non-batch label is done.

Der durch die Erfindung erreichte Vorteil besteht im wesentlichen darin, daß auf der Spritze eine maschinenlesbare Beschriftung aufgebracht wird, die alle produktspezifischen Daten enthält, so daß einerseits solche spritzenzylinder erkannt und in derThe advantage achieved by the invention consists essentially in the fact that on the syringe a machine-readable label is applied, which contains all product-specific data, so that on the one hand recognized such injection cylinder and in the

On the other hand, it can be ensured that, in the final packaging of the syringe, there is, in the end, the same with the content shown on the packaging. The attachment of the label already at the beginning of the production process allows a complete monitoring and, if necessary, a tracing back to the previous cleaning processes.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the labeling is carried out by means of a redundant coding, wherein the test reading an exchange of the remaining redundancy is carried out and depending on the separation of the syringes takes place. This has the vozteil that even damage to the label to some extent nevertheless a clear identification is possible.

Substantial and therefore advantageous here is further, if the label is read at least once during and / or at the end of the production process and discarded unreadable or not belonging to the batch syringes. At least whenever the syringes from containers, trays or the like are returned to a machine further processing process, such an examination should be made.

Furthermore, it is within the scope of the invention, the possibility that the label is applied in daylight visible or invisible manner. The selection of suitable labeling in each case depends on the respective existing specifications, for example, a readable only under UV light labeling requires a correspondingly higher technical effort.

According to a first embodiment of the invention, the label may be printed. However, there is also the possibility that the label is burned by means of a laser, in principle, further labeling methods are conceivable. For reasons of space, the code can be divided once or several times during application. It is then assembled by the system into a code when it is detected.

It has also proven to be advantageous in the context of the invention for the syringe or carpule to be rotated at least once around its longitudinal axis in order to read the inscription. This offers itself already with regard to the arrangement and mounting of the syringe.

In order to achieve greater redundancy and security in the detection of the coding, it is expedient if the reading is carried out by two or more optical recording systems which are offset by a certain angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the syringe against each other. As a result, it is also possible to eliminate unfavorable optical influences.

A further increase in the detection reliability can be achieved in that the rotational speed of the syringes during the reading operation is synchronous with the image recording frequency of the optical pickup system.

For the marking of the syringes, it is advantageous if the labeling of the Data Matrix Code ECC 200 is used.

A device solving apparatus is characterized by a single-lane or multi-lane transfer device for the syringes over which they are supplied to a reading station, the reading station having a rotating device for the syringes and at least one optical pickup system for detecting the coding applied to the syringes , Further by a separating device, which transfer the transport device passing through the syringe according to the detected coding and evaluation in a good outlet or a bad outlet.

Appropriately, the device is designed so that the transport device and the reading station and the separating device is designed as integratable into the manufacturing process compact machine module. This makes it easy to insert into existing production processes - even retrospectively.

In the following the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing; the single figure shows a device for carrying out the method according to the invention.

The device shown in the drawing is used for identification and / or monitoring of medical syringes 1 and cartridges, preferably prefilled prefilled syringes and cartridges, especially during the production process. For this purpose, the syringes 1 or cartridges are provided in a manner not shown in the drawing by means of a machine-readable label, the label is in a coded form that allows a clear identification of product, batch, dosage, filling and expiration date. Then there is the possibility to make a Prüflesung with the shown in the drawing or in a comparable arrangement at the appropriate or required stations of the production process, which then can be done a segregation of those syringes or cartridges whose coding is not or only partially readable or which have a label that does not correspond to the batch being processed.

The labeling takes place in detail by means of a redundant coding, with a test reading can be made immediately after the attachment of the label to determine whether sufficient redundancy for re-reading the label is present.

The labeling is done at the beginning of the production process. After the lettering is the possibility of checking the syringes or cartridges located in the production process, so that in particular a review can be made shortly before filling with often expensive pharmaceutical substance.

The lettering can be visible in daylight or even - as far as it is disturbing - are applied in an invisible manner, in the latter case, for example, a lighting with UV light is used for the purpose of reading. For this purpose, the label can for example be printed or burned by means of a laser.

To read the label by means of the device shown in the drawing, the syringe is rotated by means of a drive 3 at least once around its longitudinal axis. For the reading operation, an optical recording system 2 in the form of a video camera is provided in the drawing, which is aligned with the passing syringes 1 or cartridges and optionally with respect to the marking on the syringe 1 or carpule is adjustable. In this case, it is also possible, in particular in the manner indicated in the drawing, to provide two or more optical pickup systems 2, which are offset from each other by a certain angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the syringe 1. This achieves an increase in redundancy; In particular, unfavorable lighting conditions, types of illumination, contrasting surfaces and reflections can also be compensated for - due to the different viewing angles.

The rotational speed of the syringes 1 or cartridges can this be additionally selected in synchronism with the image recording frequency of the optical recording system 2.

The separating / transporting device as well as the reading station and the separating device can be expediently designed as a compact machine module, so that they can be easily integrated into the manufacturing process at the respective desired location.
