Definitions

  • the invention relates to a vacuum belt conveyor, comprising: an air-permeable endless conveyor belt; a first roller disposed at the upstream end of the vacuum belt conveyor, and a second roller disposed at the downstream end of the vacuum belt conveyor, the rollers guiding the conveyor belt as the belt circulates; the endless conveyor belt has a transporting run, which runs from the first to the second roller, as well as a returning run, which runs from the second to the first roller; the transporting runner passes over a vacuum box, in which a negative pressure can be generated, which propagates through the transporting trump to suck the paper web or a ribbon of the same, which is to be guided by means of the conveyor belt.
  • the invention relates in particular to a machine for producing or refining a paper web according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a vacuum belt conveyor according to the preamble of claim 7.
  • Vacuum belt conveyors are used to facilitate the threading of a paper web, in a machine for making or refining or further processing such a web.
  • a narrow "ribbon" or insert strip is severed from the running web.
  • This tape is transferred by means of the vacuum belt conveyor, for example, from the end of a machine section to the inlet area of a subsequent machine section.
  • German Utility Model 299 10 850 a vacuum belt conveyor is described which comprises an air-permeable endless belt which passes over two rollers and a vacuum box.
  • the negative pressure of the vacuum box propagates through the transporting run of the belt to suck in a web or ribbon to be guided by the conveyor belt.
  • One of the rollers is slidable to tension the band.
  • a separator or "ribbon cutter” is arranged; this separating device comprises a toothed knife which extends in the transverse direction, ie parallel to the roller axis.
  • the complete web including the ribbon (for example, from a last drying cylinder) runs down; she walks past the inlet end of the web conveyor and finally gets into a reject bin or reject pulper.
  • a narrow “scraper” is provided on the last drying cylinder to detach the band from the dryer jacket and to transfer the band to the band conveyor.
  • the ribbon cutter cuts the ribbon and thereby forms a new ribbon beginning, which is now transported to the calender. If there were no ribbon cutter, the belt conveyor would pull up a "double ribbon" from the broke bin; this would cause problems during the threading process. Please refer to the above mentioned brochure "Double-Tail-Elimination”.
  • a machine for producing or refining a paper web according to the preamble of claim 1 and a vacuum belt conveyor according to the preamble of claim 7 are known from EP-A-0 254 666 known.
  • a dryer felt of a dryer system revolves around a plurality of deflection rollers and drying cylinders. In the inlet area of the dryer installation, the dryer felt is guided via two vacuum boxes in which a negative pressure can be generated which propagates through the dryer felt in order to support guidance of the paper web in this section of the paper machine.
  • manually operated air nozzles and a scraper for lifting the ribbon are provided in the known device.
  • Another machine for producing or refining a paper web with a vacuum belt conveyor is in the GB-A-1 533 720 discloses and comprises a conveyor belt, which is guided around two deflection rollers, between which a vacuum box is mounted. An upstream with respect to the transport direction of the paper web deflection roller is attached via slot couplings to the vacuum box and is driven by a belt drive from a motor.
  • a vacuum belt conveyor in which an air-permeable endless conveyor belt is guided around a plurality of deflection rollers, wherein between the deflection rollers, a vacuum box is mounted.
  • the vacuum box of the known device is extended into the deflection area on the side of the transporting passage of the endless conveyor belt.
  • the above-mentioned machine and the vacuum belt conveyor contained therein so educate that the paper web or a cuff of the same is reliably taken up if necessary by the vacuum belt conveyor and guided by the conveyor belt, and that an adjustment to Clamping of the conveyor belt is made possible without affecting the settings of the pickup suction zone.
  • band scraper should be made superfluous.
  • the object of the invention is, in particular, an improved construction which allows the upstream end of the vacuum belt conveyor device to be arranged closer than before to the surface giving off the paper web (for example the surface of a roller or a cylinder).
  • the first roller is placed close to a path of the paper web or on a paper web donating surface of the machine, and that designed to form a pickup suction zone, the first role as a suction roller and is connected to a vacuum source, so that generated by the negative pressure source vacuum propagates through the conveyor belt passing through the first roller, to suck the paper web or a strip of the same, which / which is to be guided by means of the tape.
  • the second roller is displaceable relative to said vacuum box for tensioning the band.
  • the above-mentioned effects can be obtained in the above-mentioned machine, when the upstream end of the conveying device is close to a path of the paper web or at one of the To form a pickup suction zone, the conveyor belt in the region of the upstream end of the conveyor runs over a curved and perforated guide surface of a vacuum box, in which a negative pressure can be generated, which extends through the conveyor belt passing over the guide surface propagated through to suck the paper web or a ribbon of the same, which / which is to be guided by means of the tape.
