Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing parts with a sealing layer on the surface and on such parts.
- lacquers are currently used as a sealing layer on the surface of parts in large quantities, such as in the furniture and woodworking industry, but also in parts made of steel, non-ferrous metals, plastic, paper, cardboard, paper mache or mineral materials .
- a widespread paint system are UV-curing coatings, which are usually applied by roller application, less often sprayed on the parts. The subsequent curing process is carried out with UV light or UV lamps.
- the mechanical complexity of painting with UV coatings is very high and requires a very large amount of space.
- the large space requirement is also due to the fact that coating operations with UV-curing systems usually require several jobs - in practice, three to four jobs are common. Due to the viscosity, but especially due to the UV curing, only about 10 to 20 my layers can be applied with each coating application, which is why several coating jobs are necessary. UV lamps and the necessary energy for curing are very expensive.
- Object of the present invention is to develop the prior art advantageous.
- a water- and solvent-free, moisture-curing, polyurethane-based reactive melt layer can also be advantageously used to replace a previous coating on various other materials to form a sealant layer. So this is possible for furniture parts that may consist of solid wood or fumed parts with a wood or wood-based material and glued veneer.
- a reactive melt layer can also be used for sealing wood-like materials, parts of steel, non-ferrous metals, plastic, paper, cardboard, paper mache or mineral substances.
- a single coat without intermediate treatment in the form of grinding, curing or the like can be used to form a sealing layer with layer thicknesses between 5 and 150 microns, which has a very high abrasion resistance, high hardness and scratch resistance, good impact resistance and residual elasticity
- a high chemical resistance and depending on requirements and needs has a high UV resistance.
- this type of surface refinement is mechanically simple and therefore more economical.
- any parts having a sealing layer on its surface formed as a water-free, solvent-free, moisture-curing reactive polyurethane-based melt layer an improvement in surface properties can be achieved by applying to the surface after application the portion of the reactive melt layer is smoothed. As a result, unevenness of the surface can be avoided, which can result from the mere application of the hot reactive melt and it results in an even smoother surface. It is then also possible to work with smaller amounts of material between 70 and 100 g / m 2 of reactive melt.
- the water- and solvent-free reactive-melt layer is applied to the surface to be sealed at a temperature above 100 ° C, about 100 ° C to 140 ° C. In this case, about 70 to 100 g of reactive melt are applied per square meter of surface to be coated.
- the reactive melt usually has a density of about 1.1 g / m 2 and a Brookfield viscosity at 120 ° C of about 4,000 mPas and at 140 ° C of about 2,400 mPas. It is advantageous to apply the reactive melt layer under exclusion of air and shielding from atmospheric moisture to prevent premature Ausreagieren.
- the layer can, for example, be doctored, rolled, sprayed or applied by means of a nozzle or slot die. Even when cured as a 100% solid, the reactive melt layer still has some residual elasticity.
- the parts Before any further processing of the surface-coated parts, the parts should be able to crosslink for 3 to 5 days depending on the moisture content, so that an almost complete cross-linking has occurred and then surface scratches are avoided.
- further processing can, for example, consist in the profiling of the tongue and groove joints. If necessary, further processing may also be necessary for other parts, or the production process is terminated with the surface coating according to the invention.
- the smoothing by means of a roller, for example a steel roller, which may optionally be provided with a polyurethane coating.
- the roller is wetted with a release agent during smoothing.
- the release agent is applied as a solvent-free and low-viscosity agent based on paraffin wax.
- Such a means prevents on the one hand the sticking of the reactive melt layer on the roller and, moreover, the surface of the reactive melt layer becomes much smoother and immediately block-free. An increase in the gloss level of the finished sealing layer can also be achieved with this release agent.
- the release agent based on paraffin wax is clear and has a density of about 0.85 g / cm 3 and a viscosity at 20 ° C according to Brookfield of about 34 mPas.
- the order amount is about 20 to 35 g / m 2 .
- the release agent is applied to the roller, for example, by the spray method or vacuum spray method. However, it is preferred to apply the release agent to the roll by means of a soaked felt, which is a particularly simple and safe way of providing a uniform, thin release film during the smoothening of the reactive blacksmith compound layer.
- An apparatus for producing parts having a sealing layer on its surface includes an application station, a transporting device and a smoothing station. It is advantageous if a heating device is arranged between the application station and the smoothing station.
- the smoothing station comprises at least one roller, which is for example a steel roller and may have a polyurethane coating. Moreover, it is advantageous if the roller is wettable with a release agent. This release agent is about a paraffin wax-based agent. For wetting the roller with the release agent, for example, a spray device, a vacuum spray device or a soaked felt may be provided.
- a section of any part 1 is shown, for example, a floorboard for parquet floors.
- the actual plank usually consists of several, not shown in the drawing layers, namely at least one cover layer of wood, which is glued to one or more sub-layers.
- a sealant layer 2 of a water and solvent free, moisture-cured, polyurethane-based reactive melt layer which has been smoothed during manufacture by means of a roller wetted with a paraffin-based release agent after application.
- This smoothing process results in a particularly smooth surface of the sealing layer, which is indicated by the further line 3.
- the production line 4 contains a transport device 5 for the parts to be coated.
- the reactive melt layer is heated to at least 100 ° C under exclusion of air and shielding and then pumped by a pumping device, not shown, into a heated hose, passed through the hose to an applicator, such as a slot 7 and of the slot nozzle is applied to the part 1.
- the production line and its components are controlled by an indicated control unit 13 and controlled.
- a schematic drive unit 14 for the transport device 5 is indicated.
- the coated with the reactive melt Part 1 is transported by the application station to the fixing and smoothing station 8. Between the application of the reactive melt layer 2 and the fixing station 8, the surface of the reactive melt layer is supplied with heat via an indicated heating device 9 in order to keep the reactive melt layer at least viscous.
- rollers 10 are rotatably mounted and optionally height-adjustable.
- the rollers are for example provided with a polyurethane coating.
- the felt releases a uniform small amount of the release agent as a thin layer on the surface of the rollers 10 which they pass on contact with the surface of the reactive melt layer 2.
- the release agent the surface of the reactive melt layer 2 is immediately block-free and the smoothing process supported.
- the coated and smoothed parts are transported further from the fixing and smoothing station 8 by the transport device 5 and are usually temporarily stored for crosslinking of the reactive melt layer 2 for about three to five days.
- the reactive melt layer 2 forms a sealant layer integral with part 1, which is a 100% solids and whose thickness can be adjusted between 5 and 150 microns during application depending on requirements.
- a further processing of Part 1 could consist in the case of the floorboard for parquet floors in a profiling of the tongue and groove area of the floorboard.
- inventive method is not limited to the application in planks for parquet boards, but can be used for the production of any parts with a sealing layer on the surface.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing parts with a sealing layer on the surface and on such parts.
In various fields of application, lacquers are currently used as a sealing layer on the surface of parts in large quantities, such as in the furniture and woodworking industry, but also in parts made of steel, non-ferrous metals, plastic, paper, cardboard, paper mache or mineral materials , A widespread paint system are UV-curing coatings, which are usually applied by roller application, less often sprayed on the parts. The subsequent curing process is carried out with UV light or UV lamps. The mechanical complexity of painting with UV coatings is very high and requires a very large amount of space. The large space requirement is also due to the fact that coating operations with UV-curing systems usually require several jobs - in practice, three to four jobs are common. Due to the viscosity, but especially due to the UV curing, only about 10 to 20 my layers can be applied with each coating application, which is why several coating jobs are necessary. UV lamps and the necessary energy for curing are very expensive.
Other coating systems, such as 2-component PUR coatings, nitro lacquers or water-based paints, must also be applied in several coats. Filler, primers and optionally intermediate grinding are always necessary here and make the surface coating complex and very complex and expensive machine.
From DE 198 06 136 C2 it is known to provide in a floorboard for parquet floors with at least one layer of wood and a sealing layer on its surface, that the sealing layer as a water and solvent-free, with the humidity curing reactive melt layer formed polyurethane-based is. The reactive enamel composition layer is doctored onto the wood layer, rolled or sprayed on. This job can cause unwanted unevenness in the sealant layer. In addition, the reactive-melt layer after application is still sticky, so that in the handling of parquet flooring semifinished products, the sealing layer can be damaged or the individual parts can stick together when stacking. The proposed according to DE 198 06 136 C2 cooling zone is connected in practice with a high cost for the provision of very cold, humid air.
Object of the present invention is to develop the prior art advantageous.
This problem is solved by the features of
First, it has been recognized that a water- and solvent-free, moisture-curing, polyurethane-based reactive melt layer can also be advantageously used to replace a previous coating on various other materials to form a sealant layer. So this is possible for furniture parts that may consist of solid wood or fumed parts with a wood or wood-based material and glued veneer. In addition, such a reactive melt layer can also be used for sealing wood-like materials, parts of steel, non-ferrous metals, plastic, paper, cardboard, paper mache or mineral substances. For all these different materials, a single coat without intermediate treatment in the form of grinding, curing or the like can be used to form a sealing layer with layer thicknesses between 5 and 150 microns, which has a very high abrasion resistance, high hardness and scratch resistance, good impact resistance and residual elasticity To prevent Sprödrissen, a high chemical resistance and depending on requirements and needs has a high UV resistance. In addition, this type of surface refinement is mechanically simple and therefore more economical.
Besides, in any parts having a sealing layer on its surface formed as a water-free, solvent-free, moisture-curing reactive polyurethane-based melt layer, an improvement in surface properties can be achieved by applying to the surface after application the portion of the reactive melt layer is smoothed. As a result, unevenness of the surface can be avoided, which can result from the mere application of the hot reactive melt and it results in an even smoother surface. It is then also possible to work with smaller amounts of material between 70 and 100 g / m 2 of reactive melt.
The water- and solvent-free reactive-melt layer is applied to the surface to be sealed at a temperature above 100 ° C, about 100 ° C to 140 ° C. In this case, about 70 to 100 g of reactive melt are applied per square meter of surface to be coated. The reactive melt usually has a density of about 1.1 g / m 2 and a Brookfield viscosity at 120 ° C of about 4,000 mPas and at 140 ° C of about 2,400 mPas. It is advantageous to apply the reactive melt layer under exclusion of air and shielding from atmospheric moisture to prevent premature Ausreagieren. The layer can, for example, be doctored, rolled, sprayed or applied by means of a nozzle or slot die. Even when cured as a 100% solid, the reactive melt layer still has some residual elasticity.
Before any further processing of the surface-coated parts, the parts should be able to crosslink for 3 to 5 days depending on the moisture content, so that an almost complete cross-linking has occurred and then surface scratches are avoided. In the case of parquet planks, further processing can, for example, consist in the profiling of the tongue and groove joints. If necessary, further processing may also be necessary for other parts, or the production process is terminated with the surface coating according to the invention.
With the method according to the invention, the most varied parts can be produced. In addition to planks for parquet floors so that furniture parts or other parts made of wood-like materials can be produced. In addition, steel parts and parts made of non-ferrous metals, plastic, paper, cardboard, paper mache and mineral materials can be coated. Other applications of Oberflächenbschichtung are conceivable.
It is advantageous to once again supply heat to the surface of the reactive hotmelt layer between the application and smoothing, in order to further improve the result of the smoothing. Conveniently, the smoothing by means of a roller, for example a steel roller, which may optionally be provided with a polyurethane coating.
Die Auftragsmenge beträgt ca. 20 bis 35 g/m2.It is particularly advantageous if the roller is wetted with a release agent during smoothing. In this way, it is effectively prevented that the not yet cured reactive melt layer breaks off on the part to be sealed and adheres to the roller. Preferably, the release agent is applied as a solvent-free and low-viscosity agent based on paraffin wax. Such a means prevents on the one hand the sticking of the reactive melt layer on the roller and, moreover, the surface of the reactive melt layer becomes much smoother and immediately block-free. An increase in the gloss level of the finished sealing layer can also be achieved with this release agent. The release agent based on paraffin wax is clear and has a density of about 0.85 g / cm 3 and a viscosity at 20 ° C according to Brookfield of about 34 mPas. The order amount is about 20 to 35 g / m 2 .
The release agent is applied to the roller, for example, by the spray method or vacuum spray method. However, it is preferred to apply the release agent to the roll by means of a soaked felt, which is a particularly simple and safe way of providing a uniform, thin release film during the smoothening of the reactive blacksmith compound layer.
An apparatus for producing parts having a sealing layer on its surface includes an application station, a transporting device and a smoothing station. It is advantageous if a heating device is arranged between the application station and the smoothing station.
In a preferred embodiment of the device, the smoothing station comprises at least one roller, which is for example a steel roller and may have a polyurethane coating. Moreover, it is advantageous if the roller is wettable with a release agent. This release agent is about a paraffin wax-based agent. For wetting the roller with the release agent, for example, a spray device, a vacuum spray device or a soaked felt may be provided.

The coated and smoothed parts are transported further from the fixing and smoothing
Finally, it should again be noted that the inventive method is not limited to the application in planks for parquet boards, but can be used for the production of any parts with a sealing layer on the surface.
