- the aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide was added to the mixture to neutralise the fatty acids.
- the batch temperature was maintained at 80 °C so that a clear isotropic solution was obtained.
- the melt of the detergent composition at 80°C was poured into a thermoformed polymeric mould and the inlet of the mould was sealed. The mould was allowed to cool to bring about solidification of soap and a cast-in-pack detergent tablet was thus obtained.
