    Claims (5)

    1. Weapon comprising a barrel (3) mounted displaceably in a cradle (2) for firing large-calibre ammunition with cases (7), wherein the weapon (1) comprises a breech ring (4), which is provided with a drop wedge and on which is disposed a case ejector (6), by means of which the cases (7) of the respective ammunition after firing and after opening of the breech block are ejected from the rear of the barrel (3), having the features:
      a) the weapon (1) comprises a case-collecting container (9), which is disposed behind the breech ring (4) and is connected by fastening arms (10, 11) to the cradle (2) in such a way that it does not obstruct the recoil of the barrel (3) and breech ring (4) after firing;
      b) the case-collecting container (9) comprises a case box (12) for receiving the cases (7) as well as a deflection element (13) disposed in such a way that each ejected case (7) first strikes the deflection element (13) before then rebounding off it and falling into the lower-lying case box (12);
      characterized in that
      c) the case box (12) comprises a base (21), which is swingable or displaceable downwards counter to the pressure of at least one spring (25, 26), so that, in the event of the case (7) situated in the case box (12) coming into contact with backward- or forward-moving parts of the barrel (3), breech ring (4) and/or breech block, the case (7) pushes away the base (21) of the case box (12).
    2. Weapon according to claim 1, characterized in that the base (21) of the case box (12) is mounted pivotally about an axis of rotation, (22) disposed at the rear on the case box (12).
    3. Weapon according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the deflection element (13) is disposed so as to be pivotable in the direction of the breech ring (4) from a normal position into an inwardly folded position about an axis (16) normal to the bore axis (15) of the barrel (3), such that in this position a fresh shell is loadable into the breech block.
    4. Weapon according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the deflection element (13) at its side facing the breech ring (4) and/or the side walls (19, 20) and the back wall of the case box (12) are coated with a damping material.
    5. Weapon according to claim 4, characterized in that the damping material is a plastics material or rubber.
