Description

  • The invention relates to a device for conveying a strand of the tobacco processing industry with a guide for a strand promoting band running at the bottom of an open channel. A "strand of the tobacco-processing industry" is understood in particular to mean a fiber strand, preferably of cut tobacco.
  • In a machine for producing a cigarette rod (cigarette rod machine), tobacco is fed to a continuous strand conveyor forming a strand guide channel (tobacco channel) in the form of a shower of separated tobacco fibers, collected in a strand formation zone in the tobacco channel on the strand conveyor and conveyed out of the strand formation zone as a tobacco rod. The tobacco rod is then homogenized by excess removal before it is processed in the further course of the manufacturing process by wrapping with a Hüllmaterialstreifen to a cigarette rod and finally cut into tobacco rods simple or multiple use length. As a strand conveyor is usually used in modern machines, the lower strand of a strand conveyor belt on which the accumulated fiber strand is suspended suspended. The strand conveyor belt is acted upon from its rear side with negative pressure, so that through the strand conveyor belt through a tobacco fibers holding suction train is formed. This type of conveyor is also referred to as a suction belt conveyor. The conveying strand of the strand conveyor belt extends in the tobacco channel from the beginning of the strand forming zone through the region of the excess removal device to its discharge end, at which the tobacco rod formed is delivered to a strand unit. In the strand unit, the tobacco rod is wrapped with the wrapping material strip, so that a cigarette rod is formed, which is finally processed into cigarettes or filter cigarettes. The length of the conveyor line of the Saugstrangförderers and the high speed of modern extrusion machines make high demands on the strand conveyor and the running of the strand conveyor influencing guide means.
  • Cigarette extruders with strand conveyors of the type described above are shown, for example, in U.S. Patent 4,805,641, British Patent 974,821 and U.S. Patent 4,344,526. A support element according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from document DE 42 15 509 A.
    The problem underlying the invention is to further improve a device of the type described above.
  • This object is achieved by the features as Characterizing part of claim 1.
  • Further developments and further embodiments of the invention can be found in the subordinate claims.
  • The invention has the advantage that the relatively small individual elements made of highly wear-resistant material, eg. As hard metal or ceramic, can be made, without being as expensive as a whole guide surface of such material The individual elements can be quickly replaced when worn. The same applies in the event that the flow conditions of the air in the tobacco channel to be changed, for example, when the fibers of the tobacco supplied have a different structure. In this case, single elements with other flow resistances are simply inserted into the guide grooves. The flow conditions can be easily adjusted so that the air resistance decreases in the course of increasing strand height. In addition, it is easily possible by varying the design of the guide surfaces of the individual elements to vary the shape of the strand conveyor belt from just rounded end portions to the very rounded part cylindrical shape.
  • The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to exemplary embodiments.

  • Figures 1 and 2 show a part of a strand guide unit 1 of a cigarette rod machine on an enlarged scale, which is greatly shortened for better depiction by breaking lines. A holder shown from below in FIG. 1 has air passages 2 through which suction air can flow from bottom to top into a vacuum chamber (position 3 in FIGS. 3 and 4).
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 show further details showing sections corresponding to the sectional lines A-A and B-B in FIG. In these sections, individual elements 4 for guiding a strand conveyor belt 6 (exaggerated drawn thick) and a tobacco channel 7 are also shown. The holder 1 has two cheeks 8 and 9, which can be screwed together by means of non-visible screws. FIG. 2 shows a corresponding threaded bore 11. The cheeks 8 and 9 have guide grooves 12, in the segment-shaped individual elements 4 for tape guide, of which Figure 5 shows details are perpendicular to the plane inserted. For clamping fixation of the individual elements / segments 4 stud bolts, not shown, can be used in threaded holes 13. In the middle region, the individual elements 4 have air outlets 5, which can have different flow cross sections. The individual elements 4 limit and guide with top and side guide surfaces arranged the air-permeable conveyor belt 6, which is drivable in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. Beneath the cheeks 8 and 9 and the individual elements 4 extend in a known manner cheeks 14 and 16, which limit the tobacco channel 7. The tobacco fibers fed from below are entrained by a suction air stream which flows through the channel 7, the air-permeable belt 6, the air passages 5 in the individual elements 4 and through the air passages 2 in the holder 1 into the vacuum chamber 3 and are deposited on the belt 6, where they accumulate to a tobacco rod, not shown, and are conveyed away.
  • FIG. 4 differs from FIG. 3 only in that the threaded bores 13 are missing for clamping the individual elements 4.
  • Figure 5 shows a plan view of the guide side of a single element 4. The inserted in the guide grooves 12 of the cheeks 8, 9 surfaces of the individual elements 4 are bounded by the lines 18, 19. Of the lines 19 and 21, a web 22 is limited. Between the webs 22, the strand conveyor belt 6 is guided on guide surfaces 24. With 23 slight slopes are referred to down. The opposite back of the single element 4 is smooth.
  • With reference to the figures 1 to 5, the advantages mentioned in the introduction can be easily seen: easy installation of relatively short individual elements, which are also inexpensive, if they are made of relatively expensive wear-resistant material; easy replacement of the individual elements, eg. B. due to wear or to influence the flow conditions of the suction air in the tobacco channel. 7
  • By using specifically designed individual elements 4 with different in shape and size flow cross sections of their air passages 5 can be achieved by appropriate combination or replacement of individual elements a desired or optimal flow profile over the length of the strand guide channel.
  • FIG. 6 shows a variant of a sectioned individual element 4 with a guide surface 24 for the strand conveyor belt 6 whose end regions 24a are rounded on an enlarged scale.
  • FIG. 7 shows a variant of a sectioned individual element 4 on an enlarged scale, in which the guide surface 24b for the strand conveyor belt is designed as part of a cylinder inner surface.

Claims (8)

  1. Support element for supporting a continuous conveyor (6) that carries a rope of the tobacco-processing industry, comprising
    - lateral guide surfaces for insertion of the element (4) into a groove (12) of a holder (1),
    - webs (22) connected to the lateral guide surfaces for lateral guidance of the conveyor, wherein the support element is much shorter than the portion of the conveyor carrying the rope,

    characterized by
    - at least one guide surface (24), which is disposed between and connects the webs, for supporting the conveyor.
  2. Support element according to claim 1, characterized in that the guide surface (24) connecting the webs (22) has at the inlet- and/or outlet side (in relation to the transport direction of the conveyor) a bevel (23).
  3. Support element according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the webs (22) at the side facing the conveyor have bevels at the inlet- and/or outlet side.
  4. Support element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide surface (24) has an air hole (5).
  5. Support element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide surface (24) is curved.
  6. Support element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide surface (24) is curved only in the edge regions adjoining the webs (22).
  7. Support element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the support element at least at the surfaces coming into contact with the conveyor has a wear-resistant surface in particular of hard metal or ceramic material.
  8. Support element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the support element is manufactured from a wear-resistant material, in particular from hard metal or ceramic material.
