The ratio between the width (a) of the light output surface of each divergent light chamber to the height (b) of its light input surface is at least 4:1.

Description

The present invention relates to a deck light according to the preamble of claim 1.

A Deckeinleuchte this kind, as described for example in DE 44 43 916 A1, is shown in Fig. 5. In this case, below an elongated gas discharge lamp 21, a raster reflector 26 consisting of side reflectors and transverse slats is arranged, with the aid of which most of the light emitted by the lamp 21 is directed and emitted downwards without glare. The use of such a raster reflector 26 is advantageous, for example, in luminaires in offices with multiple VDU workstations, since the downwardly radiated light is to some degree cross-faded and therefore can not cause reflections on the screens.

The lamp shown in Fig. 5 further comprises a concave curved outer reflector 22, on which the light emitted from the lamp 21 laterally or upwards falls. In this way, the area surrounding the lamp 21 and the raster reflector 26 is additionally illuminated, which, on the one hand, makes it possible to detect in a simple manner whether the luminaire is actually switched on or not, but on the other hand is perceived as much more pleasant by a viewer than the light of a pure grid lamp, in which the entire light is emitted only downwards, so that the ceiling area itself appears dark.

In such lamps, it is usually desirable that the area surrounding the lamp appear in a uniform brightness density. This problem is also treated, for example, in DE 4 336 023 A1. In general, therefore, the outer reflector of such a luminaire on a certain and previously calculated precisely curvature, which reflects the light emitted by the lamp side in such a manner that the outer reflector appears uniformly bright. However, this usually has the consequence that the outer reflector due to this predetermined curvature has a relatively high height and small width, so that the lamp is very high overall. If, on the other hand, the outer reflector 22 were made flatter, this would mean that the luminance in the lamp 21 nearer to the outer reflector 22 is higher than at the edge of the reflector. In the luminaire shown in FIG. 14, a uniform distribution of the brightness density is additionally supported by the fact that below the. Outer reflector 22 a translucent (opal) disc 23 is arranged. Overall, however, this luminaire has a relatively high height.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a ceiling light, which has a much lower height than the known lights and offers more design options in terms of their shape.

This object is achieved by a recessed ceiling luminaire, which has the features of claim 1.

The erfindungemäße ceiling light has the following common features with the known lamp according to Fig. 5: a tubular gas discharge lamp, at least one - viewed from the area to be illuminated - arranged next to the lamp concave reflector, at least one - also seen from the area to be illuminated - In addition to the lamp but in front of the reflector arranged at least partially translucent diffuser and - seen from the area to be illuminated - arranged in front of the lamp light distribution element, wherein the diffuser and the reflector at their end remote from the lamp converge so that they at least include a light chamber, and wherein the reflector next to the lamp limits at least one light entry surface. According to the invention, the light entry surface is also delimited by the diffuser and the ratio between the width of a light chamber and the height of the light entry surface is at least 4: 1, wherein the height of the light entry surface is understood to be the distance between the reflector and the diffuser present in this region. Another feature of the invention is that the individual components of the lamp are arranged within a box-shaped housing. As a result of these measures, the luminaire as a whole can be made substantially flatter and, in addition, it is possible to give the luminaires a completely new appearance.

In the event that the largest distance between the reflector and the diffuser is greater than the height of the light entry surface, preferably the ratio of the width of a light chamber to this largest distance is at least 4: 1. Particularly preferably, the ratio of the width of a light chamber to the height of the light entry surface or to the largest distance between the reflector and the diffuser is between 4: 1 and 5: 1.

A according to DE 297 10 475 U known ceiling lamp has no housing. A light entry into also provided light chambers via column in the raster reflector.

After the US 5,530,628 a cabinet lamp is known to emit light glare-free at an angle to the rear. It also has a flat light chamber whose Lichteinstrahlfläche is bounded by a reflector and a diffuser.

To achieve a uniform luminance over the reflector cross section several additional means may be provided on the lamp. Preferably, for example, the light entry surfaces for the light chamber or light chambers are also formed by diffusers.

The light-transmitting element may be e.g. a grid consisting of side reflectors and cross blades. Other optical elements would be conceivable, which cause a more interesting appearance of the entire lamp, such as a teillichtdurchlässiges perforated plate or the like.

Further developments of the lamp can also consist in that the reflector arranged laterally from the lamp is itself part-leak-permeable. It is then possible to arrange further light sources behind this partial translucent reflector which can be used to achieve special lighting effects.

If the reflector is part-permeable to light, another refinement can also be to arrange another reflector behind the reflector, so that in each case a further light chamber is formed behind the light chambers. It is then possible to install additional light sources within these further light chambers, which can be controllable for example in their color and brightness. This may be, for example, controllable light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This can be achieved again a variety of different lighting effects.

Finally, to achieve a further new lighting effect can also be provided that within the light entry surfaces optical elements are arranged, which cause a change in color of the light has become on the reflector, so that the area surrounding the lamp appears in a slightly different color.

The luminaire according to the invention can be used in several different types of luminaires.

In the ceiling luminaire shown in Fig. 1, the individual components of the lamp are arranged within a box-shaped container 8, which is sunk when mounting the lamp in the ceiling of the room to be illuminated. The light source used is a rod-type gas discharge lamp 1, under which a grid 6 consisting of side reflectors and transverse slats is arranged, via which a large part of the light emitted by the lamp 1 is emitted downwards. The concrete shapes of this grid 6 can be chosen so that the downwardly radiated light is transversely dazzled to a certain extent, so that the lamp is particularly suitable for the illumination of rooms with VDU workstations. As an alternative to the grid 6, a perforated plate, which may be e.g. is deposited with foils, or another optical element - for example, a diffuser or a prismatic structure - are used.

The rod-shaped gas discharge lamp 1 is further spanned by a concave reflector 2 whose side wings are arranged substantially adjacent to the lamp 1. In front of this reflector 2 and thus also laterally of the lamp 1, a diffuser 3 is further arranged, which includes two light chambers 4 together with the reflector 2 by the diffuser 3 and the reflector 2 both converge at their remote from the lamp 1 end. The Lichteintrittsflärchen for these light chambers 4 are limited by the upper edge of the grid 6 and the reflector 2. Since the diffuser 3 arranged in front of the reflector 2 extends up to the side wall of the grid 6, it is avoided that the lamp 1 can be viewed directly from the side, thus producing glare effects.

Vorzugsweise liegt das Größenverhältnis zwischen 4:1 und 5:1.The width (a) of the light chambers 4 is according to the invention at least four times as large as the height (b) of the light entry surfaces, ie the distance between the upper edge of the grid 6 and the reflector 2, so that the light overall very flat and visually can be designed attractively. Preferably, the size ratio is between 4: 1 and 5: 1.

To achieve a uniform luminance over the entire width of the reflector 2 is further provided in the light shown in Fig. 1 that the two light entry surfaces are formed by diffusers 5, which distribute the light thrown onto the reflector 2 evenly. Together with the front of the reflector 2 arranged diffuser 3 is thus causes the lamp 1 and the grid 6 surrounding area of the lamp appears evenly bright, despite the low height of the lamp. In this case, the diffusers 5 are preferably formed integrally with the diffuser 3. Furthermore, the reflector 2 may be diffusely reflecting on its inside.

In the example shown, the reflector 2 is further formed partially transparent, wherein behind this reflector 2 two further rod-shaped lamps 7 are arranged. These are for the achievement of the desired lighting effect - effective radiation of a large part of the light emitted by the lamp 1 on the grid 6 down and uniform lightening of the area surrounding the lamp 1 - initially not necessary, but with their help additional and new lighting effects can be met , The two lights 7, for example, can be set independently of the light 1 to a certain brightness, so that in this way is given the opportunity to lighten the next to the lamp 1 arranged area regardless of the brightness of the lamp 1.

Wiederum liegt das Größenverhältnis vorzugsweise zwischen 4:1 und 5:1.The luminaire shown in FIG. 2 again is a recessed ceiling luminaire whose reflector 2 however now has a shape such that the greatest distance (c) between the reflector 2 and the diffuser 3 is greater than the height (b) of FIG light entry surfaces. In this case, preferably not only the ratio between the width (a) of the light chambers 4 to the height (b) of the light entrance surfaces but even the ratio of the width (a) of the light chambers 4 to this largest distance (c) is at least 4: 1, so that a flat design is ensured. Again, the size ratio is preferably between 4: 1 and 5: 1.

Finally, FIGS. 3 and 4 show a further development of the luminaire according to the invention, which is particularly suitable for recessed ceiling luminaires, the shape of the luminaire shown in FIG. 3 being the luminaire shape in FIG. 2 and the shape of the luminaire in FIG. 4 being the luminaire shape of FIG equivalent. The development consists in that a further concave reflector 12 is arranged behind the part 2 permeable reflector 2, which forms together with the reflector 2, two further light chambers 13, which are each arranged behind the original light chambers 4. In these additional light chambers 13 further light sources are arranged, here in the form of printed circuit boards with a plurality of LEDs 14 arranged in a row. These LED's 14 can be controllable with respect to their color and brightness, whereby a variety of different lighting effects can be achieved. Of course, other controllable light sources can be used. In addition, the formation of the further light chambers 13 by the additional reflector 12 also in the other types of luminaires and luminaire shapes.

The luminaire according to the invention can thus be configured in a multiplicity of different forms of appearance. Since the height of the light chambers 4 is very low, it is also possible to form a total of very flat and visually appealing lights and give them new shapes with an attractive design. The further proposed measures, however, can be achieved despite the very flat design, that over the entire width of the reflector 2, a substantially uniform luminance is achieved, so that very attractive lighting effects can be achieved.
