Abstract

A water-base jet printing ink comprising a coloring matter and an aqueous medium as the main components, wherein at least one member selected from among dyes of the general formula (A) and salts thereof is contained as the coloring matter (A) [wherein R1 and R3 are each hydrogen, halogeno, or the like; R2 and R4 are each hydrogen, alkyl, or the like; A is phenyl or naphthyl; X is a divalent connecting group; and m and n are each 1 to 4]. It is preferable that a dye represented by the general formula (A) be freed from insolubles by adjusting the pH of an aqueous solution of the dye to 9 or above. The ink does not clog a printer head and enables the formation of high-quality and bleeding-free images.
