Abstract

Gusskern (1) für den Kühlmittelmantel eines Kurbelgehäuses einer Brennkraftmaschine mit in zumindest einer Reihe angeordneten Zylindern (2, 2') und mit Kernstützen (3, 3'), die zumindest eine, einem Zylinderkopf benachbarte Kurbelgehäusewand durchdringen, wobei die Kernstützen (3, 3') von zumindest zwei, in einer Reihe liegenden Zylindern (2, 2') über zumindest eine Brücke (4, 4') miteinander verbunden sind.
Durch die hier beschriebene Konstruktion erhält der Gusskern höchste Steifigkeit beim Gießvorgang. Dadurch sind die Kühlmittelkanäle des Kühlmittelmantels durch engste Kühlmitteldurchtrittsöffnungen darstellbar. Darüberhinaus gewährleistet die Kernsteifigkeit die Einhaltung engster Maßtoleranzen, wodurch aufwendige nachträgliche mechanische Bearbeitung entfallen kann.
