Das Sicherheitselement 8 ist mit der Heissiegelschicht 6
flächig fest mit der darunterliegenden Schicht 3 verbunden.
Zwischen der Deckschicht 2 und der Schutzschicht 7
besteht jedoch keine im wesentlichen feste Verbindung. Die
Kontaktfläche 14 gemäss Figur 2 bildet somit eine lose
Verbindung zwischen der Schutzschicht 7 und der Deckschicht
2. Die Schutzschicht 7 ist wie die Deckschicht 2
ebenfalls transparent. Auf der Oberseite 16 des Aufzeichnungsträgers
1 ist somit das Sicherheitselement 8 visuell
klar erkennbar. Erkennbar sind somit auch die auf dem Sicherheitselement
8 aufgebrachten Informationen 12 (Figur
4), also insbesondere holographische und kinegraphische
Elemente, insbesondere Zeichen und bildliche Darstellungen.
Anstelle einer einzigen Deckschicht 2 können auch
mehrere Deckschichten vorhanden sein, die aber jeweils
transparent sein sollten.The

Beim Ausführungsbeispiel gemäss Figur 6 sind zwei Deckschichten
2 und 13 vorgesehen, und das Sicherheitselement

Die einzulaminierenden Sicherheitselemente 8 sind auf eine
bandförmige Trägerfolie 7 aufgedampft. Die Trägerfolie 7
bildet mit den aufgedampften Sicherheitselementen 8 ein
Band 9, das vorzugsweise eine Rolle bildet. Um die Sicherheitselemente
8 einzulaminieren, wird das Band 9 über einen
Bogen 15 gezogen. Mittels eines Prägestempels 10 werden
die Sicherheitselemente 8 aus dem Band 9 ausgestanzt
und unter Wärmeeinwirkung auf den Bogen 15 aufgebracht.
Die an der Unterseite des Sicherheitselementes 8 aufgebrachte
Siegelschicht 6 wird hierbei in an sich bekannter
Weise erwärmt und verbindet das Sicherheitselement 8 mit
dem Bogen 15. An der Unterseite des Stempels 10 ist eine
Schneidkante 10' angeordnet, mit welcher das Sicherheitselement
8 sowie der entsprechende Bereich der Trägerfolie
7 ausgestanzt werden. Nach dem Ausstanzen ist im Band 9
entsprechend ein Durchbruch 11 vorhanden, wie dies in Figur
3 ganz rechts angedeutet ist. Wesentlich ist nun, dass
nach dem Heissiegeln der ausgestanzte Bereich 7' der Trägerfolie
auf dem ausgestanzten Sicherheitselement 8' verbleibt,
wie dies ebenfalls in Figur 3 ganz rechts angedeutet
ist. Der Bogen 15 ist so gross gewählt, dass mehrere
solche Sicherheitselemente 8' im Abstand zueinander aufgebracht
und mehrere Aufzeichnungsträger 1 aus dem Bogen 15
ausgestanzt werden können. Ist der Bogen 15 mit sämtlichen
vorgesehenen Sicherheitselementen 8' versehen, so werden
auf und unter diesem Bogen die weiteren vorgesehenen Bogen
auflaminiert. Schliesslich werden aus den miteinander verbundenen
Bögen die Aufzeichnungsträger 1 ausgestanzt. Der
Bogen 15 bildet hierbei die Schichten 3 des ausgestanzten
Aufzeichnungsträger 1.The
Claims (17)
- Data carrier, in particular an identification card or value card, with at least one layer (3) that forms a card body (C) and a transparent cover layer (2) laminated thereon, as well as at least one planar security element (8) that is provided with security information (A), in particular holographic or kinegraphic information, characterized in that the security element (8) is located between two laminated layers (2, 3) and that the security element (8) is provided with a protective layer (7), whereby at least one of the laminated layers (2) is transparent.
- Data carrier as claimed in Claim 1, characterized in that the security element (8) is located between two transparent cover layers (2, 13) (Figure 6).
- Data carrier as claimed in one of the Claims 1 or 2, characterized in that at least one of the layers is manufactured from polycarbonate.
- Data carrier as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the security element (8) is firmly connected on its underside with a lower layer (3) by hot sealing.
- Data carrier as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the protective layer (7) is in essentially loose contact on the upper side (14) with a transparent layer (2) that is on top of it.
- Data carrier as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the protective layer (7) is a transparent plastic film.
- Data carrier as claimed in Claim 6, characterized in that the protective layer (7) is made of polyester.
- Data carrier as claimed in Claim 6 or 7, characterized in that the security element (8) is vapor deposited onto the protective layer (7).
- Data carrier as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the security element (8) is stamped onto the underlying layer (3).
- Data carrier as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the security element (8) has a thickness that is less than 5 µ and preferably less than 3 µ.
- Method for the manufacture of a data carrier, in particular an identification card or payment card, whereby at least one transparent layer (2) is laminated onto an additional layer (3) and a planar security element (8) that carries security information (A) is applied, characterized in that the security element (8) is laminated between two layer (2, 3) and that the security element (8) is provided with a protective layer (7) which is also laminated between the two layers.
- Method as claimed in Claim 11, characterized in that the protective layer (7) is a carrier film.
- Method as claimed in Claim 12, characterized in that the security element (8) is vapor deposited onto the carrier film (7).
- Method as claimed in Claim 13, characterized in that the security element (8) is made of a vapor deposited metal.
- Method as claimed in one of the Claims 11 to 14, characterized in that the security element (8) is a holographic or kinegraphic element.
- Method as claimed in one of the Claims 11 to 15, characterized in that the security element (8) is applied to a layer (3) by means of a stamping process, in particular the hot stamping or hot press stamping process.
- Method as claimed in one of the Claims 11 to 16, characterized in that the security element (8) to be laminated is provided with a sealing layer (6) on its underside.
