Abstract

Abkühlelement für Flüssigschmelzen mit integrierten Oberflächenkühleinrichtungen in Form mehrerer, meist runder Kühlbohrungen oder -kanäle (1), die zur Aufnahme eines Primärkühlmediums (2) im inneren des Abkühlelementes meist parallel zueinander angeordnet sind und in relativer Ausgießrichtung der Flüssigschmelze und/oder quer zu dieser verlaufen, und das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass die der auftreffenden Flüssigschmelze zugewandte Oberseite des Abkühlelementes mehrere parallel zueinander angeordnete und im wesentlichen parallel und/oder quer zu den integrierten Kühlkanälen (1) verlaufende, zur Oberseite hin offene Längsvertiefungen (3) zur Aufnahme eines Sekundärkühlmediums (4) aufweist. Mit einem so ausgestalteten Abkühlelement wird die Gleitfähigkeit der erstarrenden bzw. erstarrten Schmelze erhöht und deren relative Bewegung auf der Abkühlelementoberfläche unterstützt.
