Abstract

Cigarette pack, i.e. a soft pack, composed of a blank of thin, foldable packaging material, which is made of a paper layer and an outer plastic layer of thermally sealable material. Due to respective folding in the area of bottom wall (16), top wall (17) and side wall (15), folding webs partially overlap with outer plastic layers (19) directly facing each other and being sealed together or with the plastic layer being joined by sealing with the paper layer or a further inner layer.

Description

The invention relates to a cigarette pack, in particular a soft cigarette pack, with at least one blank surrounding a cigarette group made of multilayer packaging material, namely with a paper layer as the inside of the pack and with a thermally sealable plastic layer, folding flaps joined together by thermal sealing are.

Such a cigarette pack is known from GB 1,128,155 A1. The cut is multi-layered, namely with an inner paper layer and an aluminum layer facing the outside of the pack. On the outside the aluminum layer can be a coating of a thermally sealable Material should be provided. The blank is tubular around a block of cigarettes wrapped around and protruding Faitlappen by gluing or thermal Seals linked together. In the area of side faces of the pack the folding flaps are folded in such a way that the outside Aluminum foil or the thermally sealable coating of the to be connected Folded flaps get together. This is an additional folding of a of the two folding flaps.

Another soft cigarette pack is known from US 4,351,433. The Packaging material shown there is on the outside and inside, that is on the the cigarette directly facing side, with a coating of a provided with thermally sealable plastic (polyethylene). As a result, when heat is supplied, the inner polyethylene layer is plasticized and comes into contact with the cigarettes.

The invention has for its object a cigarette pack of the beginning mentioned type to further develop, particularly such that the cigarette pack is easy to produce and sufficient stability having.

  • To achieve this object, a cigarette pack according to the invention is characterized by the following features:
  • a) the paper layer is provided on the outside with the thermally sealable plastic layer which forms the outside of the package,
  • b) folding tabs in the region of an end wall and a bottom wall are connected to one another by thermal sealing, the outer plastic layer of the folding tab being connected to the outer plastic layer or to the inner paper layer of another folding tab by thermal sealing,
  • c) folding tabs in the region of a side wall are connected to one another by thermal sealing, the outer plastic layer of the folding tabs being connected to the inner paper layer of another folding tab by thermal sealing.
The cigarette pack points to the side facing the cigarette block non-sealable material. This way it can be used when sealing the folding tab not to stick the blank to individual cigarettes of the cigarette block come. Furthermore, there are no additional steps in the area of Sidewall required. This will make the cigarette pack simplified.

  • Another cigarette pack to solve the above-mentioned problem is characterized by the following features:
  • a) the paper layer is provided on the outside with the thermally sealable plastic layer which forms the outside of the package,
  • b) the paper layer is provided on the side facing the cigarette group with a further layer, namely with an inner layer made of metal or plastic with a melting point above the sealing temperature,
  • c) folding tabs in the area of an end wall and a bottom wall are connected to one another by thermal sealing, the outer plastic layer of the folding tab being connected to the outer plastic layer or to the inner layer of another folding tab by thermal sealing,
  • d) folding tabs in the region of a side wall are connected to one another by thermal sealing, the outer plastic layer of the folding tabs being connected to that of the inner layer of another folding tab by thermal sealing.
This solution has the same advantages as the cigarette pack mentioned above on.

This is simple, two or three layer packaging material according to the invention of particular importance in connection with the Design of the soft pack of cigarettes, especially in the Execution of US 5 762 186. The existing in this package form Z-shaped folding is with the packaging material according to the invention easy and durable to manufacture, namely by that two legs of the Z-fold are continuous, all over or at least in some areas by thermal sealing with one another are connected. The Z-fold can be sealed in Area of a continuous web of material.

The bottom area of the pack is also appropriate US 5 762 186 designed with double-layered folding flaps so that the thermally sealable outer layers of the packaging material lie next to each other so that a particularly dense, durable Sealing in the area of the bottom wall can be achieved.

Another specialty of the cigarette pack is the Design and arrangement of an opening aid for (Soft cup) packs made of other packaging material. A Opening tab is in the area of a front wall by perforation or other lines of weakness defined in the (inner) cut. The perforation line is before opening the package not freely visible.

The blank 10 is formed from special packaging material, namely with a multi-layer structure. The main layer or carrier layer is a paper layer 18. This is at least on the outside with a plastic layer 19 concealed. This consists of a thermally sealable material, preferably made of polyethylene or polypropylene. On the inside, on the side facing cigarette group 11, another layer can be attached by lamination, an inner layer 20. This can consist of plastic, however from a material with a temperature above the sealing temperature lying melting point. Alternatively, the inner layer 20 are made of metal, e.g. Aluminum. A metal one Inner layer can be by lamination or by vapor deposition be applied to the paper layer 18.

Fig. 5 zeigt eine vorteilhafte einfache Ausführung des Verpackungsmaterials einer mit einer Papierschicht 18 als innenliegender Schicht und einer äußeren Kunststoffschicht 19.5 shows an advantageous simple embodiment of the packaging material one with a paper layer 18 as the inside Layer and an outer plastic layer 19th

Fig. 6 wiederum zeigt einen dreischichtigen Aufbau. Hier besteht die Innenschicht 20 ebenfalls aus Kunststoff.6 in turn shows a three-layer structure. Here there is the inner layer 20 also made of plastic.

Die äußere Kunststoffschicht 19 hat eine Dicke von 15 gr/m2 bis 30 gr/m2.The paper layer 18 is expediently significantly thicker than the other layers, for example 60 gr / m 2 (FIGS. 4 and 6) or 70 gr / m 2 in the case of a two-layer design (FIG. 5). The outer plastic layer 19 has a thickness of 15 gr / m 2 to 30 gr / m 2 .

The layer structure of the blank 10 matches that shown Design of the pack. The one-piece blank 10 surrounds the Cigarette group 11 such that in the area of a side wall 15 Edge strips 21, 22 partially overlap each other. These border strips 21, 22 are to form the side wall 15 by sealing connected with each other. The outer edge strip 21 is with the outside, so the plastic layer 19 of the inside Edge strip 22 connected by heat and pressure. Depending on the design of the material, an inner layer 20 is made Plastic or metal or the paper layer 18 with the outer Plastic layer 19 of the edge strip 22 connected. It this creates a continuous over the full length of the blank 11 Sealing strip 23 approximately in the width of the overlap (hatched in Figs. 1 and 2).

Die Faltzwickel 28, 29 liegen unterhalb der Längslappen 24, 25.The end wall 17 and analogously the bottom wall 16 consist of one another partially overlapping folding flaps. In the area of the front wall are trapezoidal longitudinal tabs 24, 25 each with a rear wall 13 and front wall 14 connected. On the side walls 14, 15 close 17 side tabs 26, 27 in the region of the end wall. These are on the inside, that is, partially below the longitudinal tabs 24, 25. The side tabs 26, 27 are triangular Folding gusset 28, 29 connected to the longitudinal tabs 24, 25. The Folding gussets 28, 29 lie below the longitudinal tabs 24, 25.

The folding tabs of the end wall 17 are by thermal sealing connected with each other. In the central area of the end wall 17 is the inside of the outer longitudinal tab 24 with the sealable Outside, namely the plastic layer 19, the inside Longitudinal tab 25 connected. In the area of the side lobes 26, 27 and the folding gusset 28, 29 are the latter through thermal sealing with triangular areas of the side tabs 26, 27 connected. The outer are in this area Plastic layers 19, 20 of the folding tabs 26, 27 on the one hand and the folding flaps 28, 29 on the other hand, so that a special tight sealing is given. The end wall 14 is like this sufficiently closed or almost aroma-tight.

The bottom wall 16 can be designed analogously. In the present However, there is a peculiarity. Base longitudinal tabs 30, 31, bottom side tabs 32, 33 and bottom gusset 34, 35 are double-layered or double-walled. To this end the blank 10 is provided on the bottom side with a folding strip 36. This is folded over along a folded edge 37 for formation a double-layered strip. The folding is done so that partial strips 38, 39 with the inside, either with the paper layer 18 or the inner layer 20 another material. The folding rag 30..35 are due to the two-layer training on both sides sealable, so that in the hatched areas of the bottom wall 16 (Fig. 3) each sealable surfaces, namely plastic layers 19, lie against each other. The bottom wall 16 is at this version is particularly stable and durable.

The folding strip 36 is designed or dimensioned so that a continuous edge strip 52 is formed. This extends in the finished pack above the bottom wall 16 on the inside all around as a circumferential reinforcement strip, as in U.S. 5,762,186.

The present soft packs are in the area of the end wall 17 a extending across this (Control) banderole 40 is provided. The paper one Banderole 40 is here by thermal sealing with both front wall 12 and rear wall 13 and connected to the end wall 17. The plastic layer is in each of these areas 19 turned outwards so that the band 40 is sealed over the entire surface can be according to the hatching in FIG. 1.

Another peculiarity is that adjacent to Front wall 17 in the area of front wall 12, rear wall 13. Side walls 14 and 15 formed an all-round double fold is, namely a Z-fold 41. This consists of a strip of material 42 of the blank 10 with two legs 43, 44 of the Z-fold 41. The Z-fold 41 is designed so that one inside of the cut lower fold edge 45 the (apparent) forms the upper edge of the front wall 12, rear wall 13, etc. (Fig. 7). A lower fold edge 46 is due to the inner Z-fold 41 not recognizable on the outside. An upper fold edge 47 forms the transition into the end wall 17. The Z-fold 41 is like this formed that the two legs 43 and 44 with their (outer) Plastic layers 19 lie against each other. A seal causes along the Z-shaped folded material strip 42 a continuous connection of the legs 43, 44 to one another.

Another specialty is the formation of an opening aid in the area of the end wall 17. The opening aid, namely a detachable opening tab 48 is created that areas of folding flaps to be connected by seals due to the appropriate design, not by sealing be connected to each other. This allows an outside Folding flap gripped by hand and for separating the opening flap 48 can be used.

A side area of the outer longitudinal tab 24 is not with the facing (upper) Side of the lower longitudinal tab 25 connected. To this end a protective layer 49 is attached to the blank 10, specifically at the top of the (inner) longitudinal tab 25, next to the band 40. The protective layer 49 (protective lacquer) is arranged in this way and designed such that a free edge region of the longitudinal tab 24 recorded next to the band 40 and a triangular handle part 50 (Fig. 8) of the opening tab 48 separated from the longitudinal tab 24 can be.

The opening tab 48 is through a U-shaped line of weakness 51 defined in the blank 10. 9 extends the Line of weakness 51 from the free edge of the blank in the area of the two longitudinal tabs 24, 25 to the folded edge 47 or slightly beyond this. The opening tab 48 accordingly comprises Parts of the longitudinal tab 24, 25, the side tab 26 and the Folding gusset 28, 29. As a result, an end region of the End wall 17 next to band 40 completely separated, see above that an approximately rectangular opening is created.

The weakening line 51 can be designed as a perforation line his. In the present case, however, with the help of an appropriate mechanical separator or by a laser device Line of weakness 51 formed, which extends only over part of the Cross section of the packaging material extends, namely on the inside only in the area of the paper layer 18 and - if present - In the area of the inner layer 20 (Fig. 10 and 11). The The outer layer or the plastic layer 19 remains continuous received, but is due to the small thickness when cutting out the opening tab 48 severed.

The blanks according to FIG. 9 are made from a continuous material web manufactured, in which the folding strips 36 and Material strips 42 extend in the longitudinal direction of the material web.

The blank can be outside, namely in the area of the outer plastic layer, be printed in the usual way.

The blank used for this version 10 can be designed in the manner described however alternatively also without sealable coating, so consist of (coated) paper or the like (Such an execution is not the subject of claimed invention).

In the upper, facing the end wall 17 is one in the described trained, all-round double folding attached, namely the Z-fold 41. This is important for the arrangement of the opening aid or the opening tab 48. A U-shaped in the starting position (Fig. 12, Fig. 13) Line of weakness 51 with a longitudinal leg 53 and transverse legs 54 is positioned so that preferably the complete Line of weakness 51 invisible in the (closed) package, is nevertheless effective. To this end stretches the longitudinal leg 53 at a distance from the folded edge 47 such that after formation of the Z-fold 41 (Fig. 13) Longitudinal leg 53 of the line of weakness 51 through the Z fold 41 is hidden, namely below the folded edge 45 as the upper, visible edge of a (apparent) cup (Fig. 13). In the finished package (Fig. 14), the two lie opposite each other overlapping cross leg 54 for severing a portion of the Longitudinal tabs 24, 25 also in the hidden position, namely below the banderole 40 (Fig. 14). To open the trained As usual, the pack becomes triangular or trapezoidal Handle part 50 of the outer longitudinal tab 24 detected and by Lift separated, along the outer cross leg 54. By further actuating the handle part 50, the entire Opening tab 48 along the (hidden) weakening line 51 separated.

To indicate the presence of an opening aid, is the grip part 50 of the longitudinal tab 24 to be grasped with mark it. In the embodiment according to 14 it is a printed arrow 55, which also indicates the direction of actuation. Alternatively or in addition, one can follow adjacent to the edge of the band 40 Marking visible from the outside through notch or slot be attached in the handle part 50.

The opening aid according to FIG. 12 to FIG. 14 can be carried out in a similar manner Way also for conventional cigarette packs of the soft cup type Execution are used, the longitudinal leg the line of weakness 53 below an upper edge of the soft cup (consisting of a separate blank) located.

The band 40 is in this embodiment by gluing fixed to the pack, in the area of a crossbar 56 of the band 40 by two glue points 57, which are outside of the area of the weakening line 51 are arranged.
