Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a product with the features of the independent claim.
Der Wirkungsgrad der Zündspule nimmt dadurch beträchtlich ab.A generic pencil ignition transformer is known from US 5,632,259. The technical development in spark ignition engines is always going more compact ignition transformers. In addition, the technical development favors the Individual treatment of each individual combustion chamber for itself. The central provision of a Ignition voltage, which then with electrical or electronic circuits on the individual spark plugs is increasingly being replaced by ignition transformers generate the ignition voltage for each individual combustion chamber separately. Here comes the achievable Compactness of these ignition transformers is of crucial importance. The Required installation space for an ignition transformer should be the installation space required for expand a conventional spark plug as little as possible.
Ignition transformers must have a high voltage to initialize the ignition process of typically 30 kV. During the burning time of the ignition spark are sufficient however, typically around 500 V to maintain the spark. The ignition voltage of 30 kV is usually generated by the energy required for this is taken from the magmetic field of the ignition transformer. In the ignition transformer Eddy current losses that occur must also be in the form of magnetic energy be stored in the ignition transformer.
The object according to the invention is therefore to specify a pencil ignition transformer and an ignition unit, which can be built very compactly and which are also able to with as little stored energy as possible while avoiding eddy current losses to generate an ignition voltage of up to 30 kV at high flow rates.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the independent claims. Further advantageous embodiments are contained in the subclaims.
The pencil-type ignition transformer according to the invention contains an integrated low-voltage connection to the electrical system supply and an integrated high-voltage connection to the spark plug in a housing. The primary coil and the secondary coil are arranged in the housing around a central core made of ferromagnetic powder composite material. A magnetic feedback is made of a highly permeable magnetic material with low eddy current losses. The magnetic return is preferably formed from ferrite. The powder composite material preferably has a relative magnetic permeability µ R greater than 100, a specific electrical resistance ρ in the range from 0.5 Ωcm to 1 * 10 4 Ωcm and at 0.1 Tesla and 100 kHz specific magnetization losses of less than 100 µWs / cm 3 (micro watt seconds per cubic centimeter).
- The powder composite material reliably suppresses the eddy currents in the parts carrying the magnetic flux even at high to very high flow change speeds. The invention is advantageously used at flow change velocities dΦ / dt greater than or equal to 15 V (volts). Flow rates of typically 4 V occur in conventional ignition transformers. The energetic efficiency of the ignition transformer is improved through the use of the powder composite. Furthermore, less magnetic energy has to be stored in the ignition transformer in order to achieve the ignition voltage of typically 30 kV.
- Workpieces made of powder composite material can be shaped and manufactured as pressed parts. On the one hand, these workpieces can be produced inexpensively and, on the other hand, it is also possible in a simple manner to realize even complex shapes of the workpieces.
- A preferred embodiment of the magnetic return made of ferrite has the advantage that the return acts at the same time as electrical insulation and the expenditure for separate insulation can thereby be reduced. This can advantageously reduce the size of the pencil ignition transformer.
- A pencil ignition transformer according to the invention or an ignition unit according to the invention with a coil core made of ferromagnetic powder composite material and a magnetic return made of a highly permeable magnetic material with low eddy current losses is advantageously suitable for use in ignition systems for motor vehicles in which the ignition transformer has a self-induction voltage of up to 30 kV with as little stored energy as possible generated and then operated with AC voltage. The frequency of the AC voltage is preferably greater than 10 kHz (kilo Hertz). At these frequencies, the avoidance of eddy current losses due to the magnetic materials used is particularly advantageous.

genutzt und kann sekundärseitig bis auf 30 kV anwachsen.5 shows a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention. An

In diesem Fall
In
The secondary voltage is tapped from the secondary coil via the connecting
