Definitions
- the present invention relates to rotary printing presses, in particular to Rotary printing machines for printing with variable section length.
- Offset printing is usually done in a continuous process in which a web of material or a printing material passes through different processing stages one after the other until a finished printed product is available.
- the web is run by a Feed roller taken over and then runs through z.
- the printing unit of an offset printing machine comprises an inking unit with inking rollers which supply ink to the printing plate mounted on the plate cylinder.
- the printing plate carries the image to be printed.
- the ink is transferred from the printing plate to a blanket mounted on the blanket cylinder (the Printing plate-blanket transfer ").
- the blanket in turn transfers the color to the material web (the Blanket-to-web transfer ").
- the plate cylinder and the blanket cylinder have substantially parallel axes and are driven so that the surface speed of the printing plate matches the surface speed of the blanket as much as is necessary to achieve an acceptable transfer of ink from the blanket Ensure plate on the rubber blanket.
- the ratio of the plate cylinder diameter (i.e. the plate cylinder with the mounted plate) to the diameter of the rubber blanket is an integer and takes z.
- B the Value 1: 1.
- Other diameter ratios are also conceivable, for example with Printing plate cylinders with simple diameter, those with blanket cylinders working together, which are designed with double diameter.
- One reason that such a relationship between the diameter of the plate cylinder and the Diameter of the blanket cylinder is necessary is that the picture of the Pressure plate in the same place on the rubber blanket with each revolution of the cylinders must be transferred.
- Latent images on the rubber blanket are colored images that are due to the rubber blanket
- the blanket will have both the primary image (ie, the image created by the immediately preceding color transfer from the plate cylinder to the rubber blanket) and the latent image (ie, an image derived from an earlier color transfer from the Printing plate on the rubber blanket, in which the color was not completely transferred) transfers to the material web, which is also generally known as Doubling "is called.
- the primary image ie, the image created by the immediately preceding color transfer from the plate cylinder to the rubber blanket
- the latent image ie, an image derived from an earlier color transfer from the Printing plate on the rubber blanket, in which the color was not completely transferred
- variable section length printing e.g. H. the printing in which the Image length and thus the plate diameter changes from one print job to another, thereby complicated that the diameter of the blanket cylinder the diameter of the Plate cylinder must be adjusted so that a ratio of integers arises.
- the present Invention makes the adjustment of the diameter of the plate cylinder to the Diameter of the blanket cylinder on each other unnecessarily. This allows the diameter of the plate cylinder with respect to the diameter of the blanket cylinder.
- the aim of the present invention is to develop a printing press that has a interchangeable plate cylinder includes to print with different section lengths can, as well as an adjustable inking unit, which is adapted to plate cylinders with different Can adjust diameters, and a fully printing rubber blanket, d.
- a folder for variable section lengths can be used in conjunction with the present invention can be used to advantage to the printed signatures to cut.
- the present invention relates to a printing press comprising a blanket, the Surface in conjunction with the appropriate color, the color is essentially complete transfers from the rubber blanket to the web of material without color splitting.
- no latent image is left on the blanket, after the blanket has contacted the printing material or the material web.
- This Property is achieved in that the surface of the rubber blanket with a suitable material with low polar surface energy - d. H. less than 4 dynes / cm, whereby a total surface energy of less than 14 dynes / cm is reached - is coated or impregnated.
- a fluoropolymer especially that under the name Teflon® known polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), or silicone preferably can be used with a suitable water-based paint.
- a new colored picture can be taken from the plate transferred to the blanket in a completely different position without it passing through latent images for duplicating the printed image comes.
- An advantage of the present invention is that in printing machines with adjustable inking units and optimized, fully printing rubber blankets Printing plates for different section lengths (i.e. printing plates with different Diameter and thus different image lengths) can be used.
- the Ratio of the diameters of plate and blanket cylinders does not have to be an integer be.
- the diameter of the plate cylinder can e.g. B. any multiple, including a non-integer multiple, the diameter of the Blanket cylinder amount.
- a printing press can be designed so that the Dimensions of the blanket cylinder are optimized in terms of factors like that Blanket life, speed of rotation, cooling and internal components such as Axles and gears.
- Blanket life the Dimensions of the blanket cylinder are optimized in terms of factors like that Blanket life, speed of rotation, cooling and internal components such as Axles and gears.
- those for printing and Blanket cylinders used gearboxes and axles with a degree of flexibility that partly depends on the size of the cylinders. Therefore, in the present invention the size of these components can be optimized with regard to their flexibility or rigidity and is no longer required by the need for an appropriate relationship between the Cylinders affected.
- the diameter the blanket cylinder no longer z. B. by a tedious underlay of paper sheets appropriate thickness must be chosen carefully so that it together with the thickness of the Blanket forms the required relationship to the plate cylinder.
- the inking rollers can, for. B. be chosen so that the color transfer at certain operating speeds is optimal. You can also choose from geometric Considerations and requirements can be selected, e.g. B. how best can be fitted into the inking unit and how the inking unit overall is best in the printing unit can be fitted.
- the inking unit can be relative to the printing unit, e.g. B. be movable to the plate cylinder, so that a single adjustable inking unit Plate cylinders of different sizes can be adjusted.
- a printing press may include a non-directly driven plate cylinder, e.g. B. exclusively by frictional contact, for example with the driven ink rollers or the driven blanket cylinder is driven.
- the Printing machine comprise a directly driven plate cylinder which, for. B. means Frictional contact drives the blanket cylinder, the blanket also partially through frictional contact with a driven web of material that the rubber blanket contacted, driven.
- a combination of these types of drives can also be used in Face and back printing are applied, d. H. if both sides of one at the same time Material web can be printed.
- the upper plate cylinder are driven by a motor and via frictional contact drive the upper blanket cylinder while the lower plate cylinder over Frictional contact could be driven by the lower blanket cylinder.

Latente Bilder auf dem Gummituch sind farbige Bilder, die auf dem Gummituch aufgrundThe ratio of the plate cylinder diameter (i.e. the plate cylinder with the mounted plate) to the diameter of the rubber blanket is an integer and takes z. Other diameter ratios are also conceivable, for example with Printing plate cylinders with simple diameter, those with blanket cylinders working together, which are designed with double diameter. One reason that such a relationship between the diameter of the plate cylinder and the Diameter of the blanket cylinder is necessary is that the picture of the Pressure plate in the same place on the rubber blanket with each revolution of the cylinders must be transferred. Latent images on the rubber blanket are colored images that are due to the rubber blanket
Because of the problem of doubling, i. H. printing a primary image onto a Area of the material web and a latent image on another area of the material web, it has always been necessary to measure the diameter of the plate cylinder and the diameter of the Blanket cylinder in a ratio of integers as described above, to coordinate with each other so that no latent images arise on the material web. Thus, variable section length printing, e.g. H. the printing in which the Image length and thus the plate diameter changes from one print job to another, thereby complicated that the diameter of the blanket cylinder the diameter of the Plate cylinder must be adjusted so that a ratio of integers arises.
A well-known requirement in offset printing is the fact that the Tangential speed and the angular speed of the plate cylinder and the Blanket cylinders to achieve an acceptable print quality on each other must be coordinated. Furthermore, there is an exact match of Rotation position of the plate cylinder and the rotation position of the blanket cylinder required to ensure that any latent image remaining on the blanket is exactly covered by the printing plate image during the following rotation.
If there is no latent image on the blanket cylinder, there is no such Need the angular velocity of the plate cylinder and the Coordinate blanket cylinders. Even if there are other reasons for it like, the angular velocity of the plate cylinder and that of the blanket cylinder to adapt to one another, the reason for avoiding duplication, d. H. of Printing a latent image, away if there is no latent image. The present Invention makes the adjustment of the diameter of the plate cylinder to the Diameter of the blanket cylinder on each other unnecessarily. This allows the diameter of the plate cylinder with respect to the diameter of the blanket cylinder.
The aim of the present invention is to develop a printing press that has a interchangeable plate cylinder includes to print with different section lengths can, as well as an adjustable inking unit, which is adapted to plate cylinders with different Can adjust diameters, and a fully printing rubber blanket, d. H. a Rubber blanket on which no color remains, which is in rolling contact with the replaceable Plate cylinder stands and which is suitable for a colored image of the plate cylinder take over and essentially the entire image on a material web to be printed transferred to. A folder for variable section lengths can be used in conjunction with the present invention can be used to advantage to the printed signatures to cut.
The present invention relates to a printing press comprising a blanket, the Surface in conjunction with the appropriate color, the color is essentially complete transfers from the rubber blanket to the web of material without color splitting. In the present invention, no latent image is left on the blanket, after the blanket has contacted the printing material or the material web. This Property is achieved in that the surface of the rubber blanket with a suitable material with low polar surface energy - d. H. less than 4 dynes / cm, whereby a total surface energy of less than 14 dynes / cm is reached - is coated or impregnated. For this, e.g. B. a fluoropolymer, especially that under the name Teflon® known polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), or silicone preferably can be used with a suitable water-based paint.
Thus, based on a previous picture, a new colored picture can be taken from the plate transferred to the blanket in a completely different position without it passing through latent images for duplicating the printed image comes.
An advantage of the present invention is that in printing machines with adjustable inking units and optimized, fully printing rubber blankets Printing plates for different section lengths (i.e. printing plates with different Diameter and thus different image lengths) can be used. The Ratio of the diameters of plate and blanket cylinders does not have to be an integer be. The diameter of the plate cylinder can e.g. B. any multiple, including a non-integer multiple, the diameter of the Blanket cylinder amount.
According to the present invention, a printing press can be designed so that the Dimensions of the blanket cylinder are optimized in terms of factors like that Blanket life, speed of rotation, cooling and internal components such as Axles and gears. In offset printing presses, those for printing and Blanket cylinders used gearboxes and axles with a degree of flexibility that partly depends on the size of the cylinders. Therefore, in the present invention the size of these components can be optimized with regard to their flexibility or rigidity and is no longer required by the need for an appropriate relationship between the Cylinders affected. In addition, in the present invention, the diameter the blanket cylinder no longer z. B. by a tedious underlay of paper sheets appropriate thickness must be chosen carefully so that it together with the thickness of the Blanket forms the required relationship to the plate cylinder.
The inking rollers can, for. B. be chosen so that the color transfer at certain operating speeds is optimal. You can also choose from geometric Considerations and requirements can be selected, e.g. B. how best can be fitted into the inking unit and how the inking unit overall is best in the printing unit can be fitted. The inking unit can be relative to the printing unit, e.g. B. be movable to the plate cylinder, so that a single adjustable inking unit Plate cylinders of different sizes can be adjusted.
Another advantage of the present invention is that a printing press may include a non-directly driven plate cylinder, e.g. B. exclusively by frictional contact, for example with the driven ink rollers or the driven blanket cylinder is driven. As an alternative, the Printing machine comprise a directly driven plate cylinder which, for. B. means Frictional contact drives the blanket cylinder, the blanket also partially through frictional contact with a driven web of material that the rubber blanket contacted, driven. A combination of these types of drives can also be used in Face and back printing are applied, d. H. if both sides of one at the same time Material web can be printed.
For a printing unit in which both sides of a web are printed at the same time the upper plate cylinder are driven by a motor and via frictional contact drive the upper blanket cylinder while the lower plate cylinder over Frictional contact could be driven by the lower blanket cylinder. Also other possibilities are conceivable according to the present invention, in which the Plate cylinder, the blanket cylinder and / or the material web driven directly and drive one or more of the other cylinders.
The features of the present invention will become apparent in the following description preferred embodiments in connection with the accompanying, below listed drawings explained in more detail.

Das Druckwerk 1 umfaßt ferner z. B. vier Antriebsmotoren 5, 5a, 6, 7.

The
The inking
Fig. 1b shows a medium-
Ausführungsformen in Fig. 1a-1c.The rollers of the inking
Druckregelvorrichtungen 5.1, 5.1', 5.2, 5.2', 5.3, 5.3' (s. Fig. 5b) sowie durch eine
B. in Fig. 5b gezeigt
The embodiments in Figs. 2-4 show another arrangement in which the shape and

The additional occurring through the use of resilient means

For this purpose, the
An endless, tubular rubber blanket is preferably used as the
According to the present invention, the size of the
There are different ways of tuning the surface speeds

According to the present invention, a
abzustimmen. In the case of so-called rubber-rubber printing units for printing on both sides of one
Path are rotational position of the lower plate cylinder (not shown) and rotational position of the
In the case of color printing, a printing press generally comprises several printing units, whereby
each printing unit prints with a different color. To move from printing unit to printing unit one
to achieve optimal register setting (i.e., to ensure that the
differently colored images from printing unit to printing unit printed exactly on top of each other
), the position and the rotational speed of the
With strong register differences, e.g. B. during startup of the printing press
In addition, the
Under certain circumstances, it may be advantageous to slightly close the
unterschiedlichem Durchmesser auszutauschen. The technique of introducing distortion into the
The removal of latent images takes place in the manner according to the invention in that the Paint is peeled off or peeled off the blanket without causing back splitting the color is coming. This can e.g. B. can be achieved in that a suitable color Water base is used in combination with a rubber blanket, the Surface material has a very small polar surface energy, e.g. B. less than 4 dynes / cm has, so that there is a maximum total surface energy of less than 14 dynes / cm results. A suitable material can e.g. B. Teflon (PTFE) or silicone.
B. in US 5,323,702 und US 5,304,267
beschrieben.
Fig. 6 shows part of a sleeve-shaped
The inventive use of PTFE or silicone on the surface of the
