Abstract

The umbrella handle (12) incorporates two releases (A1,A2) for opening and closing respectively and which are operated by a sliding release button (11). The release (A2) is in the form of a unit with spring-tensioned (19) unlocking-slide-piece (14,15) and a detent pawl (16) in the form of a two-sided lever. The telescopic umbrella-stick (1) has a crown (4), a slide-piece (5) and a canopy structure (2). Two spring drive units (F1,F2) have a compression spring (F1') and tension springs (F2') respectively. A cable pull (S) has a cable (S') with one end co-operating with the release mechanism by means of a bar (8) movably mounted in the umbrella stick and a pawl (9) on it. The pawl is locked by a hooked lug (9b) touching a tubular locking piece (10) with hollowed out cavity (10a).

A screen of this type is for example in the American patent US 54 92 140 A described. Umbrellas of this type are special to operate easy because both opening and closing are automatic simply by pressing a release button. On the other hand, this is Operating advantage but also with a significant constructive and additional costs associated with the for the automatic opening and Closing process required mechanisms as well as for their triggering and unlocking, all of which are continuous with each other and against each other are to be coordinated. These mechanisms are in the known double automatic Opening and closing types very complicated, essentially in and structures centered around the umbrella stick that are used in the manufacture difficult to assemble and also hardly or for the purpose of repair are not accessible at all. This as well as a certain lack of functionality, in particular the locking and unlocking mechanism assigned to the opening process, results from the fact that these mechanisms are not only within of the very cramped installation space in and around the umbrella stick miniaturized are and therefore insufficient of the enormously high pressure load withstand the opening spring drive acting on them with a pressure of approx. 65 N. This not only has a more complicated manufacture, assembly and repair option of the mechanisms, but also a significant one Functional impairment and failure rate.

The invention is based on the object, a screen of the beginning to improve the defined design, especially the enormous opening spring pressure exposed first release device for the opening process more resistant to arrange and function more reliably and also as well to simplify production as well as for repairs.

This object is achieved in that the first triggering device interacts with the roof slider in such a way by shortening it Condition of the umbrella over the compressed, gas-tensioned umbrella stick the cable by means of a slidable in the roof slider engages and releases engaging trigger lock. This gives a significant improvement in an automatically opening and closing Folding umbrella of the type defined at the outset, both structurally and also in function, in functional safety and manufacture and in one simplified assembly and disassembly ability. The first trigger device is spatially from the stick-centered space, from the second triggering device separated as far away as possible from the floor, without any the weakening of the umbrella stick. Locking and triggering the opening process no longer takes place by directly locking and releasing the thin-walled Stockes, but indirectly, with the interposition of the pulley-like Cable gearbox by means of the release lock on the stress-resistant, robust and therefore particularly well withstanding the enormous opening spring pressure Roof slider. The opening trigger mechanism is not only optimal Resistant to stress and reliable, but also in its structure simplified and easy to assemble and dismantled in the event of a repair.

A refinement that further simplifies the opening mechanism particularly advantageously the invention results from the fact that the first triggering device combined with the release lock and the release button to form a unit are, a slide of the trigger lock the umbrella stick freely surrounded.

The automatically opening and closing umbrella has a telescopic shortenable floor 1 and a collapsible and / or sliding Roof D to be kept in the pocket-size when closed to be able to. That carried by a roof linkage 2 and provided with a cover 3 Roof D has several rod units 2 °, each in one star-shaped arrangement around floor 1 both at the top of the floor 1a sitting crown 4 as well as on a sliding on the stick 1 up and down Attack roof slider 5 in an articulated manner. The respective linkage units 2 °, from only one is shown in the drawing for the sake of clarity each include a suitable joint assembly of roof poles 2 'and struts 2' '. One of the struts 2 ″ is in each case on the slide 5 articulated so that the roof D is opened by an upward movement of the roof slide 5 can be closed and closed by moving down with the help a spring drive F1 and F2. The spring drive is F1 for automatic telescoping of the stick 1 and the spring drive F2 automatic closure of the roof D is provided, the latter for example in the form of several spring balancers F2 'in the linkage units 2 ° can be built in that they constantly strive to the roof linkage close. However, the spring force of all spring balancers F2 'is dimensioned so that that, as will be described in more detail below, it is far below the Spring force of the spring drive F1 for telescoping the stick 1 and Opening of the roof D is. The axis of the stick 1 is labeled X.

The stronger spring drive F1 is in the form of a compression spring spiral F1 'which is inserted in the stock 1 so as to be expandable and which is supported at one end at the crown 4 and at the other end at the bottom by a fixed stop 1b. The spring telescope 1 'formed in this way has the constant endeavor to expand. In order to use this effort for the opening of the roof D at the same time, a reversing gear train S structured according to the pulley principle is provided between the stick 1 and the roof slide 5 actuating the roof D. This energy-saving transmission is preferably a double roller train, each with a rope pulley 6 on the crown 4 and such a roller 7 on the roof slide 5, and with a rope pull S 'running over it. This is fixed at one end to an anchoring 4a on the crown 4 and at the other end to a push rod 8 which is displaceable in the stick 1, directly or via a tension compensation Z. At the free end 8a of the push rod 8 or a U-hollow profile 9a formed or connected to the end 8a, a bolt in the form of a radially ↔ resilient pawl 9 is embedded within the hollow profile 9a, so that the pawl 9 with a hook nose 9b spring out of this hollow profile 9a so as to be able to oscillate and swing back against the bottom 9a 'of the profile 9a with lateral guidance through the profile legs 9a''(FIG. 5).
The pawl 9 interacts with a "rigid" locking member 10 of a release lock A2 assigned to the closing process by, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, in the closed, shortened state of the screen with the hook nose 9b inside a cavity 10a of the socket-shaped locking member 10 is hooked behind an annular shoulder 10b. The locking member 10 is inserted into the stick end 1c and its depth of penetration is determined by a flange 10c supported on the stick end 1c. Accordingly, the pawl 9 is not a rigid bolt that is gripped and locked by a radially movable or flexible locking member, but rather a type of resilient harpoon that anchors itself in the "rigid" locking member 10. In order to make the centrically exact self-engaging of the resilient pawl 9 and its displacement security in its latching in the rigid locking member 10 particularly functional, the U-hollow profile 9a, which rests the pawl 9, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 can be seen to have a tapered end 9a '''with which, when the pawl 9 engages in the locking member 10, it plunges so deeply into its entry hole 10d and is held there by an adapted bevel 10e until the hook nose 9b of the pawl 9 bores the hole 10d has happened and is locked behind the ring shoulder 10b. In this way, the cable-reversing gear S between its fixed points 4,4a and 9b, 10b in the compressed, shortened state (Fig. 1, 2) of the screen is a stock telescope 1 'under spring tension. The cable-reversing gear S, as far as it is embedded in the floor 1 and movable, in order to avoid an undesirable frictional connection with the compression spring F1 'of the opener drive, which is also located in floor 1, with a length, extension, with the stock telescope 1 and insert coordinated telescopic TK telescopic cocoon. Furthermore, the already mentioned tension compensation Z can be placed in coordination with the push rod 8 so that it comes to rest in the pushed-together stick 1 between the push rod 8 and the rope pulley 6 seated on the crown 4. The tension compensation Z enables the bridging of dimensional tolerances in the structure of the stock telescope 1 'and the roof kinematics connected to it, but in particular also in that the stock telescope 1' with the roof D open and the stock telescope 1 'extended. can be extended to its full length (Fig. 6,11). The tension compensation Z preferably consists of a cylinder-piston guide with a sleeve Z 'as a cylinder, a piston bushing Z''guided therein and a compression spring Z * which resiliently supports the sleeve Z', the sleeve Z 'being by means of a Rivets Za engages the push rod 8 while the piston bushing Z '' is connected to the rope S 'by being threaded through the bushing Z''with a knot S * on a flange Zb of the bushing Z''( Fig. 10,11).
The handle 12 has a central holding bush 12a, webs 12b formed radially thereon and a cylindrical shaft 12c. This is connected to the holding bush 12a by the webs 12b, so that there are a plurality of radial hollow chambers 12d extending over the handle length within the handle 12 within the distance between the bushing 12a and the shaft 12c. The lower end 1c of the stick 1 is inserted into the holding bush 12a and is detachably fixed by means of a cross pin 13, in that it engages through the shaft 12c, two opposing webs 12b, 12b and in the middle through the holding bush 12a and through the stick end 1c (FIG .8th). At the same time, the transverse pin 13 also reaches through the socket-shaped locking member 10 of the release lock A2 and through a slot 14a of a piston 14 which can be displaced in the locking member 10 of a piston guide K of the release device A2, which is described in more detail below. Accordingly, stick 1, handle 12 and locking member 10 are fixed together and against one another by means of cross pin 13 and, in addition, with its passage through the slot 14a ° it also forms a limiting stop for the displacement movement of the piston 14 in the cavity 10a the locking member 10.

Another cylindrical cavity 12e in the handle 12 extends from the end of the stick 1c or a flange 10c of the locking member which bears against it 10 to the bottom 12 f of the handle 12. The bottom 12f is from a cover 12g formed by means of a clip connection 12h is releasably clipped onto the shaft 12c, so that the Cavity 12e and cavities 12d and the mechanisms housed therein after loosening the lid 12g very simple and easy for the purpose of Assembly and repair are accessible. The upper end of the handle shaft 12i is open and serves as an insertion and extension opening for the roof slide 5. The socket-shaped locking member 10 of the release lock A2 is loose and inserted again in the end of stick 1c and as already described fixed. It also forms the upper edge already described fixed stop 1b for the compression spring spiral F1 'and extends to the lower end 1c of the Stockes 1, where it is supported by means of the flange 10c. The Locking member 10 is in this way during assembly and repairs easy to install or replace with the plug-in method tailored coordination of the required coincidence positions of his Ring shoulder 10b to the resilient pawl 9 and its fastening hole on the cross pin 13. The same applies to the other in Handle 12 housed mechanics.

(Fig.1,2). The release required to initiate the closing process the resilient pawl 9 is carried out by an unlocking slide in the form of a in the cavity 10a of the locking member 10th displaceable hollow cylinder 15, which in the course of an upward directed displacement movement of the piston guide K over the Hook nose 9b of the pawl 9 and pushes it out of it Locking behind the ring shoulder 10b of the locking member 10 disengages (Fig. 4,5). The hollow cylinder 15 is on the piston already described 14 molded or fixed to a pin 14a of the same. The Piston 14 is part of the piston guide K. This is by means of formed by the cross pin 13 and the slot 14a ° pin-slot guide within the locking member 10 to the extent of the length of the Slot 14a in a certain shift limit up and down slidably with the top slot end 14a 'the outermost Displacement limit of the piston guide K out of the locking member 9 and the lower slot end 14a ″ the extreme displacement limit ins Lock member 10 result. The piston 14 is on a plate-shaped Disk 14b fixed or molded, one of which is parallel to the Piston 14 extending arm 14c protrudes so that it parallel to the wall of the handle shaft 12c freely movable in one of the hollow chambers 12d of the handle 12 protrude. The arm is there 14c with its upper edge 14c * in frictional engagement with the roof slide 5. (Fig. 1,2). On the arm 14c is a double-armed pawl 16, which around an axis 17 is pivotable and by a torsion spring 18 in the closed and shortened state of the screen (Fig.1,2) with an edge 16b 'of lower lever arm 16b in contact with the cylindrical outer surface the holding bush 12a is held. The lower lever arm 16b is provided with a locking hook 16b '', with which it is in the out Fig. 3 apparent ready position for the closing process on the lower edge 12a '' or an attached stop ring 12a 'of the holding bush 12a hooked. With her upper lever arm 16a, the pawl 16 interacts with the release button 11 as soon as the pawl 16 from the piston guide K into the stroke H of the button 11 pushed in and can be grasped by this, the lever arm 16a with the locking hook 16b '' out of engagement with the lower edge 12a '' or with the stop ring 12a '. The shift of the Pawl 16 in the stroke H of the trigger button 11 takes place under Effect of a compression spring 19 between the plate-shaped disc 14b and the bottom 12f of the handle cover 12g is clamped.

In this way there is a center in the stick axis X piston guide guided in the limit of the pin-slot guide 13, 14a K of the pawl 16 and the unlocking hollow cylinder 15 with a Direction of displacement towards the end of the handle 12 under the action of the roof slide 5 and and in the opposite direction under the action of the spring 19 to the release button 11 in the required non-rotatable alignment of the arm 14c and the pawl 16 with respect to their engagement in the stroke H of the release button 11. In addition to this non-rotating stroke, there is also in particular a rectified, conformal stroke of the parts 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 of the release device A2 and the unlocking assigned to it in a construction unit like Displacement unit (Fig. 2,3,4,5). This construction and shear unit V is also out simple and robust parts designed and assembled to be one high functional reliability guaranteed and with the insertion process with few Handles can be installed and just as easily disassembled and exchangeable after removing the handle cover 12g from the handle shaft 12c and Loosen the cross pin 13 (Fig. 4,5). The insertion limit of the construction and Instead of the slot stop 14a ″, the displacement unit V can also take place by that the disc 14b directly abuts the flange 10c of the locking member 10.

The trigger button 11 is not only used to activate the already trigger device A2 described for the closing process, but also to activate those assigned to the opening process Release device A1 for the opening process. The Trigger button 11 is preferably simplified with the trigger device A1 and its unlocking assembled uniformly. It is in one with the stroke by means of a slide 11a H identical cavity of the umbrella handle 12 transversely to the stick 1 slidable in a groove 12h. The slide 11a encloses the stick 1 in the form of an oval ring such that it has the stick 1 can happen all around with enough sliding play and the button 11, starting from their basic position, into their release positions for the opening and closing process against the effect of a Move the slide 11a in the starting position to hold the spring 20 can. When opening, the button 11 snaps onto the slide 11a trained release lock 21 from a locking opening 5a of the roof opening slide 5, so that on the cable reversing gear S tensioned floor 1 released for telescoping with the accompanying opening of the roof D (Fig. 2,5). When triggered of the closing process, the button 11 locks the pawl 16 against Effect of the torsion spring 18 from its locking position (Fig.3) from the lower edge 12a '' or the stop ring 12a ', so that the piston guide K under the action of the spring 19 the unlocking slide 15 over the hook nose 9b and thereby resilient pawl 9 from its locking on the ring shoulder 10b disengages with the associated release of the cable reversing gear S in the sense of the roof closing under the action of the springs F2 '.

  • The main functions of the screen are accordingly determined by
  • a) the automatic opening process of the roof D under the action of the spring drive F1 with the associated extension of the telescopic stick 1 and tension of the closing spring drive F2,
  • b) the subsequent automatic closing process of the roof D under the action of the closing spring drive F2, and
  • c) the subsequent shortening of the screen to pocket format by hand by pushing together the telescopic stick 1 with accompanying tensioning of the opener drive spring F1 '.
When the opening process to be triggered by pressing the release button 11, the release lock 21 releases its locking in the roof opening slide 5, so that it is pulled by the cable gear S under the action of the telescoping telescope 1 with the opening of the roof D is moved upwards into the position shown in FIG. 6. Since the cable pull gear S is fixed in the locking member 10, the cable S 'runs over the roller 7 on the roof slide 5, the telescopic cocoon TK pushes apart in conformity and the roof closing springs F2' are tensioned. At the same time, the roof opening slider 5 releases from the arm 14c, so that the slide unit consisting of the parts 14 to 18 with the unlocking slider 15 and the pawl 16 under the action of the spring 19 from the position shown in FIG. 2 in the position shown in Fig. 3. In it, the pawl 16 engages with its lever arm 16a in the stroke H of the trigger button 11, but the pawl 16 is still hooked with its other lever arm 16b at the stop 12a 'or 12a''and the unlocking slide 15 is directly in front the hook nose 9b of the resilient pawl 9 comes to rest. The tension compensation Z of the cable drive gear S is now excited (Fig. 11).
In the following closing process of the roof D, which is to be triggered again by pressing the release button 11, the button 11 pivots the. Pawl 16 from the locking position at the stop 12a 'or 12a''against the action of the torsion spring 18, so that the pusher unit with the unlocking slider 15 and the pawl 16 under the action of the spring 19 moves another piece upwards into the Position shown in Fig. 4. The lower edge 14a ″ of the pin slot guide 13, 14a abuts the transverse pin 13, the unlocking slide 15 slips over the hook nose 9b and lifts it out of the ring shoulder 10b of the locking member 10 in a radially resilient centering movement, whereupon the reversing cable gear S pulls the resilient pawl 9 on the push rod 8 upwards under the action of the roof closing springs F2 'with the rope S' via the rope pulleys 6, 7, with the associated downward displacement of the roof slide 5 and folding of the roof D. The train compensation Z is now free according to the fully extended stick telescope 1 (Fig. 10). In the subsequent shortening of the telescopic stick 1, the umbrella can be grasped with both hands and pressed together with the handle end and crown part until the roof slider 5 dips with a socket 5b into a correspondingly adapted receiving opening 12i of the handle 12 with the corresponding impact of the Roof slider 5 on the arm 14c of the pusher unit with the triggering device A2 and the unlocking slide 15 and the shifting into the ineffective neutral position according to the position according to FIGS. 1 and 2, in which finally the trigger again - Lock 21 engages in the locking opening 5a of the roof slide 5, whereby the roof opening together with the tensioned telescopic stick 1 is locked in the starting position according to FIG. 1. In it, the cable reversing gear S is relaxed again at the tension compensation Z (Fig. 10). The roller 7 is rolled down again on the rope S '. The tension compensation Z also comes again due to the length-wise adjustment of the push rod 8 and its locking parts 9, 10 in relation to the shortened length of the stock telescope 1 to lie directly in front of the cable pulley 6 mounted on the crown 4 and the telescopic protection Kokon TK has moved again. The spring F1 'of the opener drive is tensioned again, while the springs F2' of the closer drive are relaxed. The roof cover 3 preferably retracted wrinkle-free in the roof frame.
