Description

  • The invention relates to a dishwasher according to the preamble of claim 1.
    In a conventional dishwasher with an upper and lower crockery basket, a washing liquid is supplied to the upper and lower crockery basket at the same time. A pump for supplying the washing liquid to the upper and lower crockery basket is arranged in the lower area of the dishwasher. In this case, the washing liquid must be supplied to the upper crockery basket via a longer supply line and a greater height, so that, due to the line and pressure losses, a washing liquid spray jet with less pressure or less force strikes the crockery parts stored in the upper crockery basket. It is therefore convenient to use delicate dishes such as. B. glasses to store in the upper basket.
  • If, however, a large amount falls exclusively from sensitive dishes, e.g. B. after a party, the lower crockery basket can not be loaded or only partially, so as not to expose these sensitive dishes to the risk of damage. However, this partial loading of a crockery basket means a reduced one Efficiency of the dishwasher and thus an increased consumption of resources per loading unit.
  • A regulation of the speed of the pump for adjustable pressure of the rinsing liquid is known from DE 42 44 365 A. EP 0 772 992 A describes an optional supply of the rinsing liquid to the upper or lower spray arm.
  • It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a dishwasher in which items of crockery stored in the dishwasher can be cleaned particularly well, depending on the sensitivity and / or the type and / or intensity of the contamination.
  • The object is achieved according to the invention in a dishwasher of the type mentioned at the outset by the characterizing feature of claim 1.
  • Because the speed of a motor of a washing liquid pump is adjustable in a dishwasher, the pressure of the washing liquid can be varied over a wide range by adjusting the speed. A slow speed is set for delicate tableware parts such as glasses, which can fall over due to high pressure of spray jets of the washing liquid, or porcelain parts with a sensitive decor. If, on the other hand, heavily soiled crockery items such as pots with leftover food are stored in the dishwasher, a high speed of the motor is set in order to support cleaning by the mechanical action of the spray jets at high pressure. Advantageously, the dishwasher has a program selection input device with which washing programs of the dishwasher can be selected as a function of the dishes in the dishwasher, the speed of the motor depending on the selected program. It is advantageous to provide a gentle program in which the pump motor runs at a low speed and which can be selected if sensitive dishes are stored in the dishwasher. Furthermore, it is favorable to provide an intensive program in which the pump motor runs at high speed, and which can be selected if heavily soiled dishes are stored.
  • The dishwasher has at least one upper and lower crockery basket and one upper and lower spray arm for spraying the spray jets onto the crockery parts in the crockery baskets. The flushing liquid supply to the upper spray arm can be switched on and off by a first valve in a first feed line from the flushing liquid pump to the upper spray arm. The flushing liquid supply to the lower spray arm can be switched on and off by a second valve in a second feed line from the flushing liquid pump to the lower spray arm. As a result, rinsing liquid can optionally be supplied to the upper, the lower or at the same time the upper and lower spray arm.
  • Is an upper basket gentle program selected in the dishwasher with the optional rinsing liquid supply via the program selection input device, for. B. if only particularly sensitive crockery items are stored in the upper crockery basket, rinsing liquid is supplied to the upper spray arm under particularly low pressure. In the other case, in which the particularly sensitive items of crockery are only stored in the lower crockery basket and a lower basket gentle program is selected via the program input device, rinsing liquid is fed only to the lower spray arm under particularly low pressure. In both cases, less rinsing liquid and thus heating energy is required to heat the rinsing liquid. In conjunction with the gentle program or intensive program described above, the optionally adjustable rinsing liquid supply can be used particularly advantageously if only the upper or lower crockery basket is loaded with sensitive crockery parts or heavily soiled crockery parts.
  • To further optimize the washing efficiency of the dishwasher, an interval program can be selected via the program selection input device, in which washing liquid can be supplied alternately to the upper and lower spray arms in successive intervals during a washing cycle. The speed of the motor when the washing liquid is fed to the upper spray arm is lower than the speed of the motor when the washing liquid is fed to the lower spray arm. This has the advantage of being special sensitive dishes in the upper basket with particularly low pressure of the spray jets and heavily soiled dishes in the lower basket with high pressure of the spray jets can be cleaned. It is particularly advantageous if heavily soiled dishes are stored on the lower basket, since e.g. B. Leftover food in pots usually adhere to the inside and the pots are stored with the inside down on the crockery basket. The high-pressure spray jets hit the inside of the lower spray arm, while the low-pressure spray jets clean the outside of the pots from the upper spray arm.
  • According to a further embodiment, the dishwasher has a third feed line to the upper spray arm and the upper spray arm is subdivided into first and second spray arm chambers, the first spray arm chamber being supplied with washing liquid from the first feed line and the second spray arm chamber from the third feed line, and the ' third lead is connected to the second lead. Furthermore, the spray jets emerge from the upper spray arm from the first spray arm chamber in the direction of the upper crockery basket and the spray jets from the second spray arm chamber in the direction of the lower crockery basket. This embodiment enables the generation of spray jets from the upper spray arm at different pressures. If e.g. B. the intensive program is selected for the lower basket, spray jets with high Pressure also from the upper spray arm onto the crockery in the lower crockery basket, while spray jets of medium or low pressure hit the crockery parts in the upper crockery basket.

  • Fig. 1 shows a schematic diagram of the internal structure of a dishwasher. A washing liquid pump 10, driven by a pump motor, pumps the washing liquid collected at the bottom of the dishwasher via a first feed line 12 to an upper spray arm 14 and via a second feed line 18 to a lower spray arm 20.
  • Upper spray jets 15 of the washing liquid in the direction of an upper crockery basket 13 and lower spray jets 16 of the washing liquid in the direction of a lower crockery basket 19 emerge from the upper spray arm 14 from spray nozzles. Furthermore, 20 further spray jets 21 emerge from the spray nozzles of the lower spray arm in the direction of the lower crockery basket 19. The spray jets 16 and 21 clean dishes or cutlery items stored in the lower crockery basket 19, and the spray jets 15 the crockery items stored in the upper crockery basket 13. The rotatably mounted spray arms 14, 20 are set in rotation during the washing process by means of specially arranged spray nozzles which have spray jets with a component directed to the side. As a result, the spray jets are distributed evenly along the circular paths described.
  • The speed of the pump motor of the rinsing liquid pump 10 can be set over a wide speed range. The pressure of the rinsing liquid supplied to the spray arms 14 and 20 depends on the speed. At low speed, the pressure is low and at high speed, the flushing liquid is supplied at high pressure. As a result, the strength of the spray jets 15, 16 and 21 emerging from the spray arms also depends on the speed of the pump motor.
  • By means of a program selection input device, which enables a washing program to be selected using control buttons, a user can select a gentle program, for example, if sensitive or light items of crockery are stored in the dishwasher, which can tip over and be damaged by the pressure of the spray jets. When the gentle program is selected, the pump motor runs at a low speed and the spray jets 15, 16, hitting the crockery parts 21 are weak. Furthermore, the user can select an intensive program in which the speed of the pump motor is increased compared to normal operation in order to generate strong spray jets 15, 16, 21 for cleaning heavily soiled dishes.
  • In one embodiment of the dishwasher, a first valve 11 for shutting off the rinsing liquid supply to the upper spray arm 14 is provided in the first feed line 12 and a second valve 17 for shutting off the rinsing liquid supply to the lower spray arm 20 in the second feed line 18. The valves 11 and 17 are, for example, electromagnetically operated valves which can be controlled by control electronics of the dishwasher. As a result, the rinsing liquid can optionally be supplied only to the upper spray arm 14, only to the lower spray arm 20 or to both the upper and the lower spray arm 14, 20.
  • In this embodiment of the dishwasher, the user can control the supply of the washing liquid to the upper rack 13 and / or lower rack 19. In combination with the program options above, the following options are available:
    • Normal program: Rinse liquid supply for the upper and lower spray arms 14, 20 at medium speed of the pump motor for normal dishes in the upper and lower dishes basket 13, 19.
    • Normal program, top: Rinse liquid supply only for the upper spray arm 14 at medium speed for normal dishes in the upper dish basket 13.
    • Gentle program, above: Rinse liquid supply only for the upper spray arm 14 at low speed for sensitive dishes in the upper dish basket 13.
    • Intensive program, below: Rinse liquid supply only for the lower spray arm 20 at increased speed for heavily soiled dishes in the lower dish basket 19.
    • Interval intensive program: First, rinse liquid supply only for the upper spray arm 14 at medium speed for normal dishes in the upper dish basket 13; thereafter, rinsing liquid supply only for the lower spray arm 20 at increased speed for heavily soiled crockery in the lower crockery basket 19. The sequence of the sequence is arbitrary and can be repeated several times during a rinsing cycle.
    • Interval gentle program: First, rinse liquid supply only for the upper spray arm 14 at low speed for sensitive dishes in the upper dish basket 13; afterwards, flushing liquid supply only for the lower spray arm 20 at medium speed for normal crockery in the lower crockery basket 19. The sequence of the sequence is arbitrary and can be repeated several times.
    However, other possible combinations are possible here.
  • The first and second valves 11, 17 can be replaced by an electromagnetic multi-way valve, the multi-way valve having the same setting states for the flushing liquid supply to the first and second feed lines 12, 18 like the two valves 11, 17.
  • In a further embodiment, a throttle device is arranged in the first feed line 12. This can be used in addition to or instead of the first and second valves 11, 17. The throttle device reduces the pressure of the flushing liquid which is fed to the upper spray arm 14 and can be switched on when both spray arms 14, 20 are fed with flushing liquid.
  • The following washing program combinations can be selected by a corresponding program selection using the program selection input device:
    • Gentle / normal program: Rinsing liquid supply for the upper and lower spray arms 14, 20 at medium speed and activated throttle device for sensitive dishes in the upper basket 13 and normally soiled dishes in the lower basket 19.
    • Intensive / normal program: Rinsing liquid supply for the upper and lower spray arms 14, 20 at high speed and activated throttle device for normal dishes in the upper dish basket 13 and heavily soiled dishes in the lower dish basket 19.
  • The functions of the throttle device and of the first valve 11 can be integrated in a multi-position valve which closes the first feed line 12 in a first position. in a second position the first feed line 12 opens completely and in a third position the supply or pressure of the rinsing liquid to the upper spray arm 14 is reduced.
  • As shown in FIG. 1 by a dashed line, a third feed line 25 is provided in a further embodiment of the dishwasher. The third feed line 25 branches off from the second feed line 18 to the lower spray arm 20 and also supplies washing liquid to the upper spray arm 14. As shown in Fig. 2, the upper spray arm 14 is divided into a first spray arm chamber 26 and a second spray arm chamber 27. The upper spray jets 15 from the spray nozzles of the first spray arm chamber 26 are aligned with the upper crockery basket 13 and the lower spray jets 16 from the second spray arm chamber 27 are aligned with the lower crockery basket 19. The first spray arm chamber 26 is supplied with the washing liquid from the first feed line 12 via a first channel 28 and the second spray arm chamber 27 is supplied with the washing liquid from the third feed line 25 via a second channel 29.
  • As with a conventional spray arm, the upper spray arm 14 is rotatably supported, the second channel 29 passing through a partition 30 between the first and second spray arm chambers 26, 27, which is rotatable about the second channel 29.
  • Apart from additional line losses due to the length of the third feed line 25 and the height difference between the upper spray arm 14 and the lower spray arm 20, the pressure of the rinsing liquid in the second spray arm chamber 27 of the upper spray arm 14 and the lower spray arm 20 is the same. Consequently, the strength of the spray jets 16, 21 is almost the same, so that the dishes in the lower rack 19 are cleaned uniformly from above and below.
  • In combination with one of the program options described above, e.g. B. the dishes in the lower basket 19 with a 15 independent strength from the strength of the upper spray 15, the spray 16, 21 cleanable. If only the crockery parts in the upper crockery basket are cleaned, further washing liquid and energy for heating them can be saved because the second spray arm chamber 27 is not supplied with washing liquid.   • In a modification of the embodiment of the invention described above, in which the speed selection of the circulating pump motor is related to the selection of a washing program, a separate control element for setting the speed by the user can be provided instead. Claims (10)

  1. Dishwasher having a washing liquid pump (10) with a pump motor, further having an upper crockery basket (13), an upper spray arm (14), a first supply line (12) for supplying washing liquid from the washing liquid pump (10) to the upper spray arm (14), a lower crockery basket (19), a lower spray arm (20), and a second supply line (18) for supplying washing liquid from the washing liquid pump (10) to the lower spray arm (20), wherein a first valve (11 ) may be set in the first supply line (12) and a second valve (17) may be set in the second supply line (18) or a multi-way valve may be set between the washing liquid pump (10) and the first and second supply lines (12, 18) in such a manner that the washing liquid may be supplied selectively to the first and second supply line (12, 18) or only to the first supply line (12) or only to the second supply line (18), characterised in that the speed of rotation of the pump motor and hence the pressure of the pumped washing liquid may be set according to the spray arm being actuated.
