Definitions
- This invention relates to the field of high frequency power for lamps dump. It relates in particular to improving the overall light output of these lamps and increasing the life of the lighting elements, we will use the term "discharge lamp” or "lamp” this will apply to any device comprising a closed enclosure, containing a gas and possibly other elements and whose function main will be to convert electrical energy into millimeter or sub-millimeter radiation, whether or not belonging to the visible spectrum.
- the present invention takes into account in an original way, the emitting aspect of a discharge lamp and proposes to apply to it the methods used for radio frequency transmitting antennas.
- An additional aim of the present invention is the very strong reduction in disturbances radioelectric, thanks to the referencing to a ground plane linked to the discharge lamp, of the lamp supply sine wave.
- Another additional object of the present invention is to increase the service life discharge lamps by the non-use of preheating elements and the use of much less destructive conditions for starting and maintaining the luminous flux.
- Another additional object of the present invention lies in a possibility of control partial spectral response and light intensity through the use of characteristics of this new coupling mode.
- Another additional object of the present invention is the possibility of achieving, thanks to the coupling mode, powerful synchronous illumination, high efficiency and low dissipation thermal.
- Another additional object of the invention resides in the ability to commission the low temperature discharge lamp (or tube) minimizing unwanted radiation by because of the coupling method.
- Another additional object of the invention consists in a considerable reduction in the heat dissipation of discharge lamps or tubes due to the coupling efficiency.
- Another additional object of the present invention is the reduction of visual stress linked to lighting by using synthesis of periodic waves of high frequency attacking the coupler.
- Another additional object of the present invention is the attenuation of the phenomenon of well known striation in high frequency discharge tubes, by application to the coupler of a controlled alternating voltage or wobbulated in frequency.
- New coupling device (C) achieves better energy transfer, which increases significantly the light output, reduces the emission of unwanted radiation, simplifying thus the filtering of said high frequency alternating voltage and reduces the stresses physical initiation and maintenance of the luminous flux as well as thermal constraints, thereby greatly increasing the life of the lamp.
