Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Kühlung der Arbeitswalzen 1,2 eines Walzgerüstes, umfassend für jede Walze einen mit Spritzdüsen 3,4 bestückten Kühlwasserkanal 7,8 an einem Spritzbalken sowie Mittel 5,6 zur Zufuhr von Kühlwasser bzw. zum Abführen erhitzten Wassers. Die obere Arbeitswalze weist eine im spitzen Winkel zur Walzgutoberfläche angeordnete Kühlwasser-Leitplatte (9) mit einem vorderseitigen, der Walze (1) zugewendeten Abstreifer 11 auf, und dicht unterhalb der Walzgutebene (x-x) ist eine annähernd horizontale Kühlwasser-Leitplatte 10 angeordnet mit einem der unteren Walze 2 zugeordneten Abstreifer 12. Diese Vorrichtung wird dadurch verbessert, daß in sandwichartiger Zuordnung oberhalb der oberen Kühlwasser-Leitplatte 9 eine Deckplatte 20 unter Ausbildung eines flüssigkeitsführenden Spalts (21) angeordnet ist und der Spalt 21 an seinem der Walze 1 abgewandten Ende 22 mit einer Kühlwasserabsaugung 30 in Verbindung steht. Unterhalb der unteren Kühlwasser-Leitplatte 10, in den sich zwischen dieser mit dem Abstreifer 12 und einem Oberflächenbereich der unteren Walze (2) ergebenden flüssigkeitsführenden Eckbereich 24 hineinragend, ist wenigstens ein Absaugrohr 25 angeordnet und an eine Kühlwasser-Absaugung 31 angeschlossen.
