Abstract

A piece of luggage, such as a bag, a rucksack or the like, comprises a main body (1) defining an inner space accessible through a main aperture (2) which can be closed, and a substantially rigid auxiliary body (3), at the outside of the main body (1), defining an inner seat with dimensions and shape adapted for receiving a portable phone (6) and provided with means (5) for allowing access to said seat, independent from said main aperture (2).

Description

The present invention relates to a piece of luggage such as a bag, a rucksack or the like, and has the object of providing an item of this type which is highly efficient and convenient in use.

In view of achieving this object, the invention provides a piece of luggage such as a bag, a rucksack or the like, characterized in that it includes a main body, defining an inner space which is accessible through a main aperture which can be closed, and a substantially rigid auxiliary body associated with the main body, at the outside of the latter, defining an inner seat having dimensions and shape adapted for receiving a portable phone and provided with means for allowing access to said seat, independent from said main aperture.

In a preferred embodiment, the above mentioned substantially rigid auxiliary body is arranged above the main body, so that it may include, for instance, the handle of the luggage item.

The above mentioned means for allowing access to the seat for the portable phone may be constituted by a lid which can be opened, and supported by the auxiliary body or, according to a possible alternative solution, may comprise for instance a drawer which can be extracted from the auxiliary body in which the above mentioned seat is formed. In this case a mechanism for automatic extraction of the drawer arranged within the auxiliary body is preferably provided, which can be actuated by a control button.

According to a further preferred feature, the substantially rigid auxiliary body is connected to the main body, which usually is not rigid, so that it can be disengaged therefrom. It is thus possible, for example, to provide a single type of auxiliary body which can be adapted to various bag models, forming part of a homogeneous series of luggage items.

Due to the above indicated feature, the piece of luggage according to the invention enables a portable phone to be stored in a seat separate from the main inner space of the piece of luggage, so that it can be easily and rapidly reached from the outside. Furthermore, the substantially rigid structure of the auxiliary body adequately protects the phone from shocks.

Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows with reference to the drawings, given purely by way of non limiting example, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bag according to one embodiment of the invention, and

Figure 2 shows a detail of figure 1 in a different operative condition.

The drawings show, by way of example, a lady bag which makes use of the basic concept of the present invention. However, it is clearly apparent that this concept is applicable to any luggage item and particularly to bags of any shape and dimension, rucksacks or the like.

The embodiment which is shown in the drawings comprises a main body 1 of a relatively non-rigid material defining an inner space which can be reached through at least one front aperture 2 provided with a slide fastener.

Above the main body 1 there is arranged an auxiliary body 3 of a rigid plastic material, including the handle 4 of the bag and provided with an extractable drawer 5 in which a seat for a portable phone 6 is provided.

The extractable drawer 5 is preferably of the type provided with a mechanism for automatic extraction arranged within the auxiliary body 3 which can be actuated by means of a control button, which for example can be constituted by the front wall 5a of drawer 5. By pushing this wall, an extraction of the drawer by the above indicated mechanism is obtained. This mechanism is not shown in the annexed drawings, since it can be made in any known way, for example similarly to what is made for drawers of compact disc apparatus. The deletion of these details from the drawings further renders the latter simpler and easier to understand.

It is clearly apparent however that the basic concept of the invention is that of providing a substantially rigid auxiliary body 3 arranged outside the main body of the piece of luggage (therefore not necessarily on the upper part) and having a seat with dimensions and shape adapted for receiving a portable phone, which is easily accessible from the outside, independently from the main aperture 2 of the piece of luggage. For instance, it is possible to provide a drawer 5 which can be extracted manually, or even a simple lid carried by the rigid body 3 and movable between a closed condition and an opened condition.

Also the materials which are used, both for the main body 1 and for the auxiliary body 3 may be of any type, provided that the auxiliary body 3 is substantially rigid, at least in the portion containing the portable phone, to an extent sufficient for ensuring an adequate protection of the phone against shocks. The main body 1 may be relatively soft, as that of any conventional bag.

As indicated above, it is further possible to provide a disengageable connection of the auxiliary body 3 to the main body 1 by disengageable connecting means of any type, which are not illustrated herein both because they can be made in any known way, and because they do not fall, taken alone, within the scope of the present invention, the deletion of these details from the drawings rendering the latter further easier to understand.

A single type of auxiliary body 3 can be provided which can be connected indiscriminately to various models of a same series of luggage items, in order to further increase the functionality of the product.

Naturally, while the principle of the invention remains the same, the details of construction and the embodiments may widely vary with respect to what has been described and illustrated purely by way of example, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

Piece of luggage, such as a bag, a rucksack or the like, characterized in that it includes a main body (1) defining an inner space accessible through a main aperture (2) which can be closed and substantially rigid auxiliary body (3) associated with the main body (1) at the outside of the latter, defining an inner seat with dimensions and shape adapted for receiving a portable phone (6) and provided with means (5) for allowing access to said seat, independent from said main aperture (2).
Piece of luggage according to claim 1, characterized in that said substantially rigid auxiliary body (3) is arranged above the main body (1).
Piece of luggage according to claim 2, characterized in that the auxiliary body (3) includes the handle (4) of the piece of luggage.
Piece of luggage according to claim 1, characterized in that said means for allowing access to the seat of the portable phone (6) comprises a lid which can be opened, supported by the auxiliary body (3).
Piece of luggage according to claim 1, characterized in that said means for allowing access to the seat of the portable phone (6) comprises a drawer (5) which can be extracted from the auxiliary body (3), wherein said seat is formed.
Piece of luggage according to claim 5, characterized in that a mechanism is provided for automatic extraction of the drawer arranged within the auxiliary body (3) which can be actuated by a control button.
Piece of luggage according to claim 1, characterized in that the auxiliary body (3) is connected to the main body (1) so as to be disengageable therefrom.
Piece of luggage according to claim 1, characterized in that the auxiliary body (3) is adapted to be coupled with a plurality of various models of luggage items.
