Abstract

The invention concerns an amusement ride system in which at least one passenger unit (1) is raised up a vertical tower (2) by a lift (4) before returning by free fall to its lower starting position. To enhance passengers' enjoyment of the ride while ensuring that the free fall is kept safely under control, it is proposed that a brake system (14) be provided in the lower section of the fall and kept in constant braking readiness; this system is used to slow the descent speed of the passenger unit (1) down to zero. The passengers (10) sit in the open passenger units (1) with their backs towards the tower (2) and are held in securely by hoop guards (9).

Description

The invention relates to a Amusement device with along a tower height-adjustable passenger carriers accordingly the cited in the preamble of claim 1 Characteristics.

In particular, the invention is concerned Amusement device with passenger carriers, the one big difference in height in the shortest possible time should cover.

From US-A 2 221 215 is known on the outside of a circular tower in cross section To guide the passenger carrier at different heights. Inside the Turmes is guided and with a lifting sled Rubber pull cables connected. This sled reaches through slots in the tower wall with outriggers. The Booms rest on the underside of the passenger carrier and are able to lift it. The pull ropes are over a motor driven winch tensioned during the Passenger carrier is still locked. After loosening the The passenger carrier is locked out of the tension the pulling rope accelerates upwards and returns from its upper position due to its own weight a short distance back until it hits the sled and follows it takes along, causing the traction cables to stretch again   leads. This creates an alternation between tension and Relaxation of the pull ropes with the result that the Passenger carrier is repeatedly moved up and down, until the kinetic energy is used up. Of the Passenger carriers can therefore not the entire amount of Cover the tower in a free falling motion.

Such an amusement device is also only for relatively small masses suitable and because of the possibility the overstretching or tearing of the pull ropes relatively unsafe.

In addition, devices of this type are none allow reliable calculation of the capacity because the Duration of the vibratory movements from the load of the Passenger carrier including the weight of the passengers is dependent.

In another known amusement device according to US-A-3 885 503 is located on a tower Elevator operated in the manner of a paternoster, whose Chain links on a laterally protruding driver Act on the chassis on which the passenger carrier is suspended is stored. The chassis is rotating Rail parallel to the elevator chain. Once the Passenger carrier has reached its highest point on the tower, its chassis is released from the towing connection of the chain and arrives in a free led on the tower Falling motion in the lower range of the fall a friction brake is caught. The friction brake works with a resilient brake bar against the end faces of the The wheels of the chassis, which, however, lead to problems large masses and speeds.

The psychological effect of this device is not particularly large because the passenger recognizes in good time when the falling movement starts and the braking stops.

The driver of the Chassis resilient over the carrier of the chain what unsightly noise caused and significant Signs of wear. The capacity of this previously known device is structurally low, because the elevator is on both the back and on the front of the tower and therefore the Arrangement of multiple elevators on the tower makes it impossible.

The invention is therefore based on the object Specify amusement device in which the Disadvantages of previously known systems avoided, a larger one The amusement of amusement and the prerequisites for a much larger capacity can be created.

The invention is based on US-A-3 885 503 and solves this task through the characteristic features of the Claim 1.

Thereafter, the passenger carrier is detachable in the invention connected to the lifting body and independently on Tower led. This creates the possibility of a better and safe braking of the passenger carrier guarantee. Because the lifting body and the passenger carrier the same route up and down to the tower are, there is the possibility of multiple passenger carriers to be arranged on the different sides of the tower and thereby significantly increasing the capacity. The Invention also allows the extension of the tower height and hence the free fall distance, leading to an essential one Leads to increased experience stimulus.

This attraction also becomes with the invention promoted by the fact that the passenger does not assess can, if and when the free falling movement of the Passenger carrier begins and ends. Rather, he has that   Feeling suddenly involved in a fall that should end up in the ground.

As a result of the upward and downward movement of the passenger carrier along the same route, the subject of the Invention also the easy way in case of power failure a safe return of the passenger carrier in the To bring about starting position, because you have the free Fall movement and the constantly effective braking distance can take advantage of.

The drive of the elevator can for example, be controlled so that the Upward movement begins gently and with increasing altitude is accelerated.

It is essential that the free fall of the passenger carrier in lower part of the route by a suitable Brake arrangement is caught safely and safely. Various solutions are available for this, e.g. B. with With the help of a contactless magnetic brake Claim 3 or with a brake shoe assembly in Sense of claim 4, whereby the fall energy up to the softly cushioned standstill of the passenger carrier in the lower position is used up.

If you use the elevator a lifting body according to the Claim 1 connects, the possibility is opened   move the passenger carrier upwards from the lifting body let it in the upper stroke position from Loosen lifting body and alone in free fall in the To return to the starting position. The lifting body can then use the elevator to drop the Slowly follow the passenger carrier. There is the possibility given the passenger carrier at least during his Upward movement around the axis of the tower rotate towards can, as this is detailed in the claims 5 up to 8.

The principle of operation of the invention Amusement device is accordingly that a or several passenger carriers like an elevator on one tower-like scaffolding can be raised and by there in free fall back to the starting position return, with of course this free fall through suitably trained brake assemblies so gently is caught that the passenger has no personal Damage can occur.

Numerous others are in subclaims 9 to 17 Design variants and exemplary embodiments listed.

For example, it is provided that a Drive drum with its drive block per passenger carrier is arranged, via which a flexible tension member, for. B. a cable is looped several times, one of which End with a counterweight and the other end with the bracket of the passenger carrier is connected.

The special attraction of the invention is that the Elevator or the lifting body with the passenger carrier only during its upward movement to the uppermost position on Tower is connected. Then in this top position the passenger carrier released from the elevator or the lifting body can be made to fall in free fall motion   reach.

This principle of operation is in one embodiment solved in that the passenger carrier over a Pawl on a yoke-shaped bracket of the Hanging the elevator and the ratchet with an unlocking device to release the Passenger carrier is provided for free fall.

In this way, only the yoke-shaped bracket permanently connected to the cable of the elevator. In the The topmost position of the passenger carrier is the pawl unlocked so that the passenger from the Loosen the yoke-shaped bracket and in free fall down can reach.

The yoke-shaped holder is then followed by a suitable one Control of the drive motor according to the passenger carrier in order to capture this again in its lowest position. To the yoke-shaped bracket, which also guided in the vertical guides of the tower is an additional one when approaching the passenger carrier Move down to get the jack back in To snap lock.

It has proven to be useful, the ratchet from a role rotatably mounted on the passenger carrier and from a pivotable on the bracket against spring action to form a pawl that moves when moving against each other automatically reaches behind the role, whereby as Unlocking device acting on the pawl Electromagnet or a pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical lifting drive is provided.

Of course, precautions must be taken to ensure that the passenger in free fall during the entire fall distance is properly managed.

For this purpose, the passenger carrier at a Design, for example, with an upright post provided frame formed, the post laterally protruding and vertically extending Have sliding guide elements that match with Guide elements of the vertical guide on the tower scaffold work together.

In the embodiment of the invention, the Sliding guide elements of the passenger carrier are vertical extending, slot-shaped recesses in which the webs of fixed T-profiles attached to the tower intervene leading.

Of course it is possible to use these guide elements to reverse one another or by any other To replace guide elements, which for example too can be formed by rollers and counter rollers.

A particular problem is that with high case of kinetic energy Brake the passenger carrier so that for the passengers there is no danger.

For this purpose, a Brake shoe assembly provided that the brake shoes in is divided into several groups one above the other, whose braking energy is adjustable.

It is generally assumed that Keep brake shoes in constant braking position. One can for this pneumatically or hydraulically actuated brakes use that constantly under pressure in the braking position are held. Should the pressure generation fail, must there are additional fuses, for example Springs that maintain brake pressure.

Of course, other braking force generators can also are used, such as. B. electrical Eddy current brakes and the like.

With this brake shoe arrangement it is achieved that the falling passenger carrier with his brake sword always in engages a brake shoe assembly ready for braking.

If you have several groups of Provides brake shoe assemblies, the braking effect be increased from level to level so that actually a gentle braking of the free fall Passenger carrier is possible.

In the sense of the invention it is also provided that in Braking distance for the passenger carrier is a brake-free or brake-reduced route is incorporated. This will gives the passenger a special experience. While this is in the belief that the free fall is effective has been slowed down, suddenly begins again Acceleration phase of the free fall, but ultimately is safely intercepted. For this purpose according to the invention in the lower range of Brake shoe arrangement a collecting damping arrangement, for example, in the manner of shock absorbers, which also ensures that the passenger carrier in its lower position actually in the end position reached.

The amusement device according to the invention can different in the design of the tower be made up. It is possible to cross-section the tower to be circular and the outside of it To guide passenger carriers along tangents.

However, a prismatic one can also be used   Cross-sectional design of the tower, for example as Square or hexagon.

But it is also conceivable to have a tower with only one To form passenger carriers or load carriers, whereby the Possibility is created to support loads at height Buildings.

If you assume that the individual passenger carrier for example space for four people sitting next to each other Has passengers, then the invention Amusement device for a square tower Capacity of 16 people and with a hexagonal tower a capacity of 24 people.

The throughput of passengers can be more fluid be organized that the lifts for the individual Passenger carriers are actuated with a time delay. That's the way it is for example possible, the one passenger with the Elevator to move up while another Passenger carriers are already in the free fall movement located.

With the invention there is even the possibility that the passenger carrier is designed around this tower, resulting in an even greater number of seats for that too carrying people.

In another embodiment of the invention encompasses A passenger carrier crosses the tower and is attached to it guided. The elevator also affects you at the tower guided lifting body, which with the passenger carrier over a clutch, ratchet, pawl, magnetic arrangement or the like is connected. About this clutch or the like, the passenger carrier from the lifting body in dragged the height to get there from the lifting body for the free Case to be resolved.

These and other features of the invention result from the drawing and description.

The amusement device according to the invention consists in a first embodiment of Figure 1 from a upright tower (2), on the outer surface of which is vertical extending guides (3) are in which Passenger carrier (1) by an elevator (4) in height brought and from there in free fall to the starting position can return.

As FIG. 3 shows, the individual passenger carrier has (1) seats (8) for passengers (10) and protective bars (9) from above over the shoulder of the passenger (10) protrude downwards and secure it in the seat (8), whereby additional side supports (11) are provided so that the individual passenger (10) not laterally out of his Fuse holder can get.

In Figure 1 is also shown schematically that the Elevator (4) for the individual passenger carrier (1) from one Cable or chain hoist (5), the drive block (6) arranged for example in the upper area of the tower (2) can be. The arrangement of the drive block (6) is off Weight reasons advantageously also in the lower part the tower (2) can be selected. The cable pull is convenient in several turns over a drive drum (12) performed, with one end of the cable (5) with the Passenger carrier and the other end of the cable (5) with a counterweight (7) is connected.

As will be shown later, is said to be in a preferred one   Embodiment of the passenger carrier (1) from the elevator (4) can be solved if the passenger carrier (1) in the top position.

In the lower area of the tower (2) there is a platform (13) Regulation of the flow of visitors when getting on or off the passenger carrier (1) is provided.

In addition, is in the first embodiment lower area of the tower (2) a brake shoe assembly (14), which is responsible for the free fall of the Gently brake the passenger carrier (1) to create a shock-like shape Avoid loads for the passengers (10). How particularly shows the embodiment of Figure 6, is the brake shoe arrangement (14) in several stages (32) divided. These stages (32) can be different Generate braking forces, for example, such that the top level light braking and the bottom level exerts increased braking.

In the example of Figure 2 it is shown that the cross section the tower (2) is hexagonal. Accordingly, at the Outside of the tower (2) six passenger carriers (1) arranged and movable along the upright guides (3) be arranged. Each passenger carrier (1) has for example a capacity for four passengers, so that in this embodiment, a total of 24 passengers at the same time or offset in time by the Elevators (4) moved up and then again in free fall can be moved downwards.

However, FIG. 2 shows only one example of several possible solutions. For example, it is conceivable Tower (2) triangular, quadrangular, hexagonal in cross section or to arrange octagonal or even a circular shape for to choose the cross section of the tower (2). It is essential that on the outside of the tower (2) is vertical   extending guides (3) on which the Passenger carriers (1) are guided up and down.

You can also use the guides (3) on a wall Provide building to z. B. load carrier upwards and empty again lower or vice versa.

The invention is therefore not limited to a show business limited.

From the embodiments of Figures 3 to 5 goes shows that the individual passenger carrier (1) as a frame (15) with side upright posts (16) is. On the outside of the posts (16) are Sliding guide elements (17) with the guide elements (26) the vertical guides (3) of the tower (2) work together. These guide elements (17.26) can be designed in any way. For example it is conceivable as these guide elements (17,26) Train roller guides. At the first Embodiment of the invention, however, is a vertical sliding guide described. This consists of T-shaped guide elements (26) on the tower (2), which are extend vertically and their web in vertically extending slot-shaped recesses of the Engages sliding guide elements (17) which on the frame (15) or the upright post (16) of the passenger carrier (1) are arranged.

Although the seats (8) with the passengers (10) in Distance to the vertical guide (3) with the Guide elements (17.26) can be through this Torque does not affect the free fall movement of the passenger carrier (1) because - like FIG. 4 shows - the sliding guide elements (17) each at the top and at the bottom of the upright posts (16) outwards   are arranged projecting.

So that the passenger carrier (1) is properly raised and can be lowered again in free fall is at first embodiment, each passenger carrier (1) assigned yoke-like holder (18) (see FIG. 4), which also slide guide elements (17) for guidance in the guide elements (26) of the vertical guide (3) of the Has tower (2). This yoke-shaped bracket (18) has in the vertical center of gravity line around the axis of rotation (22) mounted pawl (clutch 21), which also with a spring (23) is loaded. This pawl (21) cooperates a roller (19) together at the top of the Passenger carrier (1) rotatably mounted in an approach (20) is. The pawl (21) and the roller (19) are in theirs Home position arranged so that when lowering the yoke-like bracket (18) the pawl (21) with a oblique ramp surface meets the roller (19), thereby against spring action (23) and finally under the roller (19) engages. On the yoke-like bracket (18) one end of the cable (5) is attached. As soon as the Pawl (21) has reached under the roller (19) can With the help of the elevator (4) an upward movement of the yoke-shaped bracket (18) are introduced, on which the passenger carrier (1) hangs.

As soon as the passenger carrier (1) is in its upper position has reached and the falling movement of the passenger carrier (1) should be initiated, the electromagnet (24) or another lifting drive actuates the pawl (21) pivoted and thus releases the passenger carrier (1).

As the figure (5) shows, the frame (15) of the Passenger carrier (1) on the side facing the tower (2) at least two brake swords (25). These extend parallel to the vertical guides (3) and are so arranged that they between the brake shoes (28)   Get brake shoe assembly (14) and there in friction come with the brake shoes (28).

As shown in FIG. 6, the brake shoes are in constant Readiness to brake. This means that the brake shoes (28) are pressed against each other by braking force generators (30) and each other a smaller gap than the thickness of the Has brake swords (25) of the passenger carrier (1).

The braking force generator (30) can, for example, be a Truck, pneumatically operated brake be. In the rare event that the braking force drops, springs are built into the brake force generators (30) generate a constant braking force. With (33) is shown another lifting device, which has the task of corresponding control the brake shoes (28) from the Loosen brake swords (25). Both organs (30, 33) act on a rocker arm (34) which at (35) with the Brake shoes (28) and at (36) with a fixed frame is articulated. Another rocker arm (37) ensures for the parallel displacement of the brake shoes (28).

The brake force generators (30) and the rocker arms (34, 37) are only shown symbolically. The frame of the Tower to which these parts are attached or stored, is not shown for clarity.

As soon as a passenger carrier (1) with his brake sword (25) get into the area of the brake shoes (28), these from the brake sword (25) against the action of Brake force generator (30) and the springs to the outside pressed, creating a braking effect depending on the braking force or bias of the springs (30).

The brake shoe assemblies (14) are in several stages (32) arranged one above the other. Each level (32), from top to bottom, generate a stronger braking force. It   this will gently slow down the free fall passenger carrier (1).

Leave according to the grading of the brake shoe assembly (14) generate additional stimuli. That's the way it is for example possible, an almost slowed down Passenger carrier (1) to release what the passenger triggers a certain shock because it affects the Stop motion of the passenger carrier (1) is prepared.

Such a measure can be done, for example make sure that the brake force generators (30) lifting motors (27) a braking stage (32), preferably the last, controllable by shortly assigning them to them Loosen the brake shoes (28). Below the last braking level according to the invention there is a collecting damping arrangement (31) like a shock absorber against which the frame (15) of the passenger carrier (1) in the last area of the Fall movement hits. This trapping steam arrangement (31) is trained and switched so that they the passenger carrier (1) - like in a gondola lift - safely into the lower one Starting position leads.

In Figures 7 to 10, the invention is within a shown another embodiment.

On a tower (2) supported by brackets (36), which in in this case has a prismatic cross section a lifting body (37) is adjustable in height. To this Purpose are in groups on the lifting body (37) Longitudinal guide rollers (38) mounted with columnar Interact parts (39) of the tower (2). This Lifting body (37) is against the by means of cables (5) Effect of a counterweight (7) moves.

Via a coupling (21), which is only shown symbolically   acting locking arrangement (40) is with the lifting body (37) a non-rotatable part (41) of the passenger carrier (1) connected, on with the help of rollers (42) rotatable part (43) of the passenger carrier (1) is mounted. This rotatable part (43) has the seats (8), the extend in a circle around the tower (2). Not at rotatable part (41) drives (44) are arranged which act on the rotatable part (43) via friction wheels and thus the passenger carrier (1) rotating about the tower axis can move. Center the rotating guide rollers (45) the parts (41, 43) of the passenger carrier against each other.

With (46) symbolic permanent magnets and with (47) Braking route profiles referred to which the free fall brake the passenger carrier (1) effectively.

In the example of Figure 8, the lifting body (37) with the underneath and held by him part (41) of the Passenger carrier (1) in the lower climbing station shown. The locking arrangement (40) is closed. With (48) are security roles to exclude Referred to dangerous situations.

When switching off the drive block (6), for. B. winches, the lifting body (37) with it on the Locking arrangement (40) hanging passenger carrier (1, 41, 43) via the cable (5) raised like an elevator. At the same time can via the drive (44) the rotatable part (43) of the Passenger carrier (1) are set in rotation.

The control of the drives (6 and 44) can be designed in this way that accelerations, decelerations and even temporary stops of the individual movements be generated.

In the example in FIG. 9, the upper position of the Lifting body (37) with the passenger carrier (1,   41, 43). In this position the Rotary drive (44) to be alone on its own, so that the passengers of a carousel-like movement get abandoned.

With the help of a suitable control, the clutch is now (21) or Gesperreanordnung (40) solved with the result that now the passenger carrier (1, 41, 43) a free falling movement executes while the lifting body (37) is still off the cable (5) is held in its upper position as shown in Figure 10 is shown. As soon as the permanent magnets (46) at Case of the passenger carrier (1) in the area of Brake section profile (47), there is a Delay of the falling movement to a standstill, whereby on End of the fall movement of the shock absorbers Fall arrester arrangement (29) take effect.

The lifting body (37) is then delayed over the Elevator (4) and its drive (6) in the basic position 8 moved back and there via the clutch (21) or the Gesperreanordnung (40) again with the Passenger carrier (1, 41, 43) connected.

The invention can also be found in others Realize designs.

For example, it is possible to use the elevator (4) its drive elements through a linear drive replace. Accordingly, the passenger carrier (1) or the Lifting body (37) with appropriate means for the Generation of the linear drive to be equipped.

The invention is therefore not limited to that in the Drawing shown embodiments.
