that said piston head (76) is made of plastics and that said piston disk (72) has a plurality of annularly arranged passages (80) which are aligned with identical openings (80) arranged in said piston head (76) at an axial distance above them, said openings (80) in the piston head (76) being in ring-shaped grooves provided in the upper and lower surface of the piston head (76), respectively, said upper ring-shaped groove being covered by the thin ring-shaped disk (81) which can be moved up and down axially along a fixed central portion (74). - The piston for use in a piston compressor for gaseous media, preferably air, with a piston rod which moves back and forth within a cylinder (60) and has a piston (58) rigidly fixed thereto, said piston including a passage (80) for the gaseous medium to be sucked from the lower side of the piston with an inlet valve (80) which opens during the downward movement of the piston and closes during its upward movement, said piston (58) further including a piston disk (72) and a piston head (76) which can be mounted thereon, in which at least one recess is formed which serves as a passage, said recess being able to be covered by a ring-shaped disk (81) which is movable within said piston as a function of the piston movement,
characterized in
that said piston head (76) is made of plastics and that said piston disk (72) has a plurality of annularly arranged passages (80) which are aligned with identical openings (80) arranged in said piston head (76) at an axial distance above them, said openings (80) in the piston head (76) being ring-shaped grooves provided in the upper and lower surface of the piston head (76), respectively, said upper ring-shaped groove being covered by the thin ring-shaped disk (81) which can be moved up and down axially along a fixed central portion (74), and that said piston head (76) has a further ring-shaped groove (78) on its face which extends radially on the outside and which accommodates a helical spring (77) therein. - The piston of claim 2
characterized in
that said further ring-shaped groove (78) defines a thin-walled sealing lip (79) via which the piston head (76) contacts the cylinder wall. - The piston of claims 2 and 3
characterized in
that said piston head (76) has an obtuse-tapered piston skirt. - The piston of claim 4
characterized in
that diameter of the piston skirt is widest adjacent said further ring-shaped groove (78).
