Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP94/02164 Sec. 371 Date Jul. 8, 1996 Sec. 102(e) Date Jul. 8, 1996 PCT Filed Jul. 1, 1994 PCT Pub. No. WO95/02112 PCT Pub. Date Jan. 19, 1995A cylindrical cutting element for a cutting machine which includes base parts arranged at a uniform distance from each other. A chisel holder which receives an exchangeable chisel is secured with respect to each base element. The chisel holder has a plug connector which allows the chisel holder to be inserted into a plug receiver of the base element, where it is held by a pressure screw on the base part that grips the plug connector. To relieve the plug connector from the forces acting on the chisel, the base part has a projection which extends in an approximately parallel direction to the running direction of the cutting element and a stop that follows the projection in the running direction and forms an angle therewith. The stop limits the insertion of the chisel holder into the base element and absorbs forces transmitted through the chisel to the chisel holder.

Description

Cutting tool, which can be fastened on a roller-shaped cutting body of a cutting machine, which has a base part and a bit holder, the bit holder is provided with a plug-in attachment which is held in a plug-in receptacle of the base part and the bit holder has a stop face which is flat against a stop of the base part.

Such a cutting body is known from DE 92 11 739 U1. The chisel holder is inserted with a plug-in attachment into the plug-in receptacle of the base part, the plug-in receptacle being inclined forward in the running direction of the cutting body, so that the plug-in attachment is inserted into the base part. A shoulder arranged behind the plug-in projection in the running direction of the cutting body and running perpendicular to the axis of the bit holder serves to support a support surface of the bit holder. An edge is formed between the shoulder and the plug receptacle, which exerts a high edge pressure on the transition region between the plug-in attachment and the support surface of the bit holder during the milling process. The impulse-like loads occurring in cutting machines lead to alternating voltages, which quickly lead to material fatigue of the bit holder in the area of the edge, so that the plug-in attachment breaks off and the bit holder detaches from the base part.

As a result, the service life of such a cutting machine is very severely limited, so that high costs are incurred with repair and downtimes. AU-A-3 359 071 describes a chisel holder on which a chisel can be fixed. For this purpose, the chisel holder has a plug receptacle into which a plug attachment of the chisel can be inserted. A stop is connected at an angle to the plug-in receptacle, forming an edge. The stop is arranged in the direction of the plug receptacle. Corresponding to the stop, a counter surface is connected to the plug attachment of the chisel. The counter surface is also angularly arranged to form an edge to a plug-in approach. When the chisel is inserted in the chisel holder, the edges of the plug-in receptacle and the plug-in attachment lie against one another.

This proves to be disadvantageous, since impact-like loads act on the chisel during work. Due to the high stresses that typically occur in the area of the adjacent edges, these shock-like loads lead to material fatigue. This causes premature wear of the chisel or chisel holder. The failure of the chisel holder and the associated necessary replacement is complex because the chisel holder welded onto a cutting roller has to be welded on again.

It is an object of the invention to provide a cutting body for a cutting machine of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the bit holder is supported and held in the base part without the risk of the plug-in attachment breaking.

This object of the invention is achieved with the features specified in the new patent claim. Accordingly, it is provided that the base part Has paragraph, which is arranged around the plug-in receptacle and which is arranged at a distance from the bit holder in this area, and that the paragraph forms an obtuse-angled receptacle for the bit holder together with the stop.

The chisel holder is thus supported flatly on the stop. Depending on the direction in which the force is applied, the stop is inclined with respect to the shoulder, so that a force which is favorable for the material stress of the base part is possible. Because the chisel holder is spaced apart in the area around the plug receptacle, the entire force absorbed by the chisel is introduced into the shoulder. The plug-in attachment is kept free from loads.

Damage to the socket of the base part is therefore excluded. The lifespan of such a cutting tool is significantly increased.

According to an advantageous embodiment, it is provided that the shoulder and the stop form an obtuse-angled receptacle for the chisel holder. The force introduced via the chisel is thus broken down into a force component acting radially and tangentially to the roller-shaped cutting body. Depending on the direction of the force acting, the angle can be dimensioned such that an optimal force distribution can be achieved.

A preferred embodiment of the cutting body is characterized in that the angle is approximately 120 ° to 130 °.

If it is provided that the chisel holder has at least two chisel receptacles, then the cutting body can be used for fine machining of surfaces.

If, for example, it is provided that a road surface should be leveled, it is advantageous that the chisel receptacles are arranged adjacent to one another in the axial direction of the cutting body. This enables fine processing of the road surface. Subsequent finishing of the milled surface is then no longer necessary because of the high surface sides that can be achieved.

A quick and easy replacement of the chisel is achieved in that a tool opening is made in the base part, which creates access to the end of the chisel holder of the chisel holder that supports the stop.

If it is provided that the side of the chisel holder facing the shoulder of the base part is spaced from the shoulder when the plug-in attachment is inserted, then it is ensured that the force introduced via the chisel is transmitted completely to the stop.

So that the chisel holder is securely fixed to the base part, it is provided that the plug-in receptacle of the base part has a prismatic guide which interacts with corresponding guide surfaces of the plug-in attachment of the chisel holder.

The invention is explained below with reference to an embodiment of a cutting body shown in the drawing.

In the drawing, a base part 20 with an exchangeable bit holder 30 is shown in three views. The cutting body has 10 pocket receptacles 27 on its cutting body surface, into which the base parts 20 are inserted with their base 26. The insertion movement of the base part 20 into the pocket receptacle 27 is limited by means of a stop 24, which fixes the base part 20 on its front side. A weld is provided for securely fastening the base part 20 to the cutting body. The base part 20 has a plug-in receptacle 21 which is introduced into a shoulder 28 arranged approximately parallel to the running direction 60 of the cutting body. On the base part 20, a stop 32 is formed on the shoulder 28 at an obtuse angle in the running direction 60. The chisel holder 30 is inserted with its plug-in projection 31 into the plug-in receptacle 21 of the base part 20. On the front of the plug-in receptacle 21, a prism guide 25 is introduced, which serves to guide and receive guide surfaces 35 of the plug-in extension 31. The insertion movement of the chisel holder 20 is limited by a stop surface facing the stop 32 of the base part 20. A distance 36 is thus formed between the shoulder 28 of the base part 20 and the side of the bit holder 30 facing the shoulder 28, so that the bit holder 30 is supported only on the stop 32.

The plug-in extension 31 has in its rear region a V-shaped recess 37, one leg of which serves as a pressure surface 38 for a pressure screw 50. The pressure screw 50 is screwed with its thread 53 into a thread receptacle of the base part 20 ', so that its pin 51 cooperates with the pressure surface 38. When the pressure screw 50 is tightened, the plug-in projection 31 is drawn into the plug-in receptacle 21 and at the same time pressed into the front prism guide 25. A chisel receptacle 33 is introduced into the chisel holder 30 and serves as a plug receptacle for a shaft part of a chisel 40. On the side of the chisel holder 33 facing the chisel head 42, an annular contact surface 39 is formed, on which the chisel 40 is supported with a collar 41. The chisel 40 is secured against axial lifting with a clamping sleeve, not shown in the drawing. At the end of the bit holder 33 facing away from the contact surface 30, a tool opening 22 is introduced into the base part 20, which provides access to the end of the bit holder facing away from the bit head 42. The chisel 40 can then be driven out of the chisel receptacle 33 from the back of the base part 20 using a mandrel and a hammer. The pressure screw 50 is designed as a headless grub screw, so that it does not protrude into the tool opening 22 and thus does not affect the tool change. A tool holder 52 is inserted into the end face of the pressure screw 50, for example for holding an Allen key or a gate key.

To form a broaching auger or a broach, the base parts are fastened in a row on the cutting body surface 10. Here, a base part 20 with its front joint 71 on a rear Butt joint 72 of a further base part 20 is set and fastened on the cutting body.

In the exemplary embodiment, the base part 20 is welded to the cutting body surface 10. But it is also conceivable to provide a screw connection.
